Just to let you know, since I got some opinions from this board, that our stay at the Doubletree Club in late April was very good. We paid $55 a night, although I've heard that you can get it for under $50 on Priceline. At that price, we were very happy. It's very close to Downtown Disney, right across from the Crossroads and our rooms were very nice. I couldn't call it luxurious, but it was clean, had attractive rooms, comfortable bedding, and we were very satisfied for the price.

If I would have paid $90, I wouldn't have been as happy, but at that price, we were.

I love that hotel. Great little eatery has pretty good food. We also could walk to Subway. And Ale House. Clean Pool.
They also have free transportation to the parks.
Love it. We stayed there in a suite on our Anniversary. Very nice

Oh, yes, BTW, if you are a Hilton Honors member, you can request the 7th. floor, which apparently has better rooms. I am a member, but didn't know that until we had been there several days. We stayed on the 6th. floor.:D

I'm not a member but maybe it would be worth my while. Is it worth joining if you only would use it a couple of times a year?
What's involved?

You just have to fill out some information on their website, which is free. When you make reservations, you can get the credit to your honors account. To tell you the truth, I don't know how much you have to save to get a free room, but they note it on your reservation that you have the honors program.

When I stayed at a Hilton in El Paso last summer, they upgraded us to a 2 room suite, they said because of the honors program. I doubt that happens very often, but it doesn't hurt to join and then call and ask if there are any benefits at that hotel.

Maybe someone here knows more about it. I just joined last year.

We stayed here the last week in April. Got it for $44 on Hotwire. Totally agree with jocotter, well worth it for the price. Our room was large and quite nice, would stay there again.

I've never used Hotwire. Isn't that where you bid? I would be afraid of where I would end up.
But I have stayed at Doubletree Club before and really like it. If you got it for $44 that is really cheap.
I usually pay $69 for a regular room. Alot more for the suites. But they are very nice.

You don't bid on Hotwire, that is Priceline. On Hotwire they list the property as 4 star, 3 star, etc. and then amenities for each property. I went to www.betterbidding.com and they have a list of hotels and their amenities so I was about 99% sure that I would get the Doubletree Club. You might want to check it out. You do have to pay at the time you make the reservation and there are no changes or refunds but I have found that to be the case on any of the sites that give really great prices. I would also be afraid to bid on something without any idea where you might end up.

Thanks for this post. We went and checked out Doubletree Club's site and it looked pretty good to us. Then we checked it's rating and amendities then went to hotwire to see what was available. Like you, we guessed that the one that was 42.00 (47.00 with tax) was the doubletree (but if it wasn't then we were willing to chance it was a good hotel for the price..it was 3.5 stars). Turns out it was the Doubletree Club and we are saving 20.00 a night from where we were going to stay. We are staying 9 nights so that's quite a savings so this post was VERY HELPFUL! Thanks so much!

I'm glad to know you can get it on Hotwire.:) That's really great.:)

Marybet, we were there at the same time.:wave2:
