Doubletree Club Hotel - Lake Buena Vista

My brother has asked for my assistance in finding info about the above referenced hotel ... I am pressed for time and unfortunately don't have time to go through all of the reviews. Can someone please clarify if the Doubletree Club Hotel located at 12490 S Apopka Vineland Road is in fact the Doubletree located within walking distance of Downtown Disney???

Sarah, I think the Doubletree Club is located at the entrance to Downtown Disney (probably could walk, but it would be long). The Doubletree Suites is the official Downtown Disney hotel located on Hotel Plaza Blvd. that is in easy walking distance. Someone correct me if I'm wrong..........

The Doubletree Club is right next to Centre Care, I think. It's the one that looks real funky on the outside, like a pineapple or something. To me it looks like they would charge by the hour instead of by the night.

Yes, it's the pineapple hotel. A bit far to walk to DTD.
It's a very nice hotel. Large colorful rooms, clean, great staff. In the lobby there is a small bar/lounge area, a small arcade, an Au Bon Pan that serves up until 10 or 11:00 and a great business center with plenty of space. Very nice.
I have stayed there many times and not by the hour. They also have kids suites that are nice if you have kids. I do believe the pool might still be under construction.

The hotel is terrific--we spent three nights there on my Hilton Honors points. We were upgraded to a Kids Suite. The pool was very nice as well as the hot tub. The walk to DD is about 15 mins. Despite its "garish" appearance, this hotel does not charge by the hour. Gotta love some of these posters....enjoy!
