Looking for a review of the Doubletree Castle Hotel. Probably staying off site this summer if we can;t get a discount. I think my daughters would like this hotel from the photos I've seen online. TIA

I have never stayed there, but from what I've observed it is in a very busy section of 535. It also looks very small, what I mean is that there isn't much land with the hotel so the ammenities such as the pool are probably small.

The Doubeltree Castle Hotel is on Universal Blvd just down from where the Mercado used to be. Cafe TutuTango is there which my parents love. There used to be a Don Pablos right next door that you could walk to. My parents and I used to stay there when it first opened. It was so nice. The inside had castle decorations and there was a big treasure chest with chocolates in it for guests. You had to have a room key to use the elevator so security wise it was pretty good. They had a neat little gift shop with castle related items and dolls but it was usually expensive. You also would even get a fresh chocolate chip cookie when you checked in.

The reason we stopped was due to hearing things about unclean rooms and they were starting to show their age. After it changed hands the first time, it started going down. It looked dingy and there was a knob on the wall that had nature sounds or the ocean or even whale noises. We noticed after awhile that some of the sounds weren't working anymore and the whole place started showing its age. The fabrics weren't so vibrant or clean anymore. This was a few years ago so I hope someone can give you more recent info. It used to be such a lovely place to stay. BTW, AAA even dropped it from its list of preferred hotels b/c of customer reviews.

This is not the Doubltree Castle you are thinking of. This is an old Doubletree Hotel but is no longer. It is now the Orlando Vista.

The Doubletree Castle is on International Blvd just north of the convention center.

We stayed there back in June 2002 ( I know, it's been a long time), just my husband and I, and it was a really nice hotel. The pool was nice and it was convenient to to and from the hotel. It was close to a lot of restaurants and easy to get to parks. Rooms were nice and cookies were yummy! We booked off Orbitz and it ended up being less than $90 a night.
