Does anyone know if DT runs there shuttle/bus for the MVMCP?

I called and ask DT, the lady that asked the phone said " I think the shuttle will be running".:confused3 I wasn't feeeling very confident in her answer. Has anyone one stayed at DT and used their shuttle/bus service for the party?

I would not count it and be prepared to take a cab home I was at another hotel in hte area a few years ago and there was a woman in the lobby having hysterics because they weren't providing transport from the party. She had just assumed they were, wondered out to the spot at midnight, stood there "HOURS" (yeah right) and finanlly called to be told "Sorry". She wanted a free week's stay for this :)

Better to ask the hotel what the shuttle hours are (referring to absolute times instead of names of events or parties).

Caution: You can be delayed exiting the park or getting a monorail or ferry to the TTC and this can cause you to miss the last shuttle.

You can take a bus from Magic Kingdom to a Disney's resort nearest the Doubletree (to Caribbean Beach?) (and connect to Downtown Disney?) and take a taxi from there.

Regrettably I do not consider this smart.

Thank you guys for your responses.

I am just not feeling confident in the DT resorts answer. The last thing I want is to go to the MVMCP (with 4 kids) and not have a way to get back to DT after the party.

I guess I am going back to looking at rental cars.;)

Why not just get a taxi van to pick you up? That will cost you $20, instead of a lot more for a rental car.

After the party, my advice is to just walk over to the Contemporary resort (there is a nice lighted pathway, takes about 10 minutes) and grab a cab there.

Much less $$ than renting a car and faster than taking the monorail or ferry to theTTC and then taking a tram (or walking) to your rental car.

The funny thing is I seriously doubt that lady in the lobby was out there that long without attracting disney's attention. Taking a cab from Contemporary or where ever you want is best option. The Off-site resorts do not cater to disney's extended hour events and etc because they are not open to the general ticket sales. Hard ticketed events are limited quantity events and for hotels to charter ($$'s) buses to just handle these do not make sense for small amount of people.

I would think the Doubletree shuttle would be running. The Downtown Disney resorts share the shuttle and I think its essentially a Disney bus with different markings.

I agree with richmo to enough of a degree not to dispute anything in the above post :teeth: The Hotel Plaza Boulevard properties are Official Walt Disney World hotels; while you don't get all the advantages of staying onsite, it would seem reasonable they'd adjust the shuttle schedule for the hard-ticket events.

A couple of alternatives: Call the Hilton and ask the same question. It's the same bus and you might get someone more knowledgeable. Or, hybrid transportation - yes, walk over to the Contemporary, but instead of getting a cab, take the bus to Downtown Disney. The HPB shuttle to/from Downtown Disney WILL be operating - see the schedule in your hotel (lobby, probably) late enough.

I agree with your suggestion.

Alternatives are great - but the OP will have 4 kids with her. IMO, the cab would be well worth it after a MVMCP. If they stay to 11 or 12 pm, I can't imagine she would want to wait for a bus to DD and then transfer. Even if the shuttle was running, my choice would be the cab. Short walk & short ride back right to the resort door vs crowded Ferry or Monorail to TTC and then wait for the shuttle, which may make a few stops before getting back.
