I'm now looking into Double Tree guest suites and radisson resort, they both say that they have complimentary shuttles to all four parks. Does anyone know if this is convenient or if we're better off driving our car? How difficult is it to drive a car to the parks, we've never done that. We've always stayed on site.

It's an easy drive to the parks from either of those hotels. I would strongly recommend driving if you stay at the Radisson, since it has very limited shuttle service. The DoubleTree Guest Suites participates in the Downtown Disney transportation system, which is very good and runs frequently.

Doubletree is also much closer to Disney than Radisson

Strangely, it's not. The Radisson is actually closer to Animal Kingdom and MGM. It's about equally distant from Epcot and Magic Kingdom.

The position of the hotels is confusing when you're driving around, but if you look at a map, you can see it. The Radisson is just slightly south of Disney property, about midway between the west and east borders. The DoubleTree is on the extreme eastern edge of the property.

boy I am losing it - you are correct. I was thinking the longer way - not the IDS way.
