combi savvy double stroller or Mclaren twin rally? Why? Pros & cons?
thanks.

Neither. The Peg Perego side-by-side. (I think it's called the Twin Aria.) I bought mine a few months ago, and if I remember correctly, both of the ones you mentioned have 6 sets of wheels, with one set in the middle where the two stroller seats come together. If you step the wrong way, you get tangled up in that middle wheel. DH sprained his ankle on a stroller like that.

I saw that one at babies rus & thought it was rather flimsy...is it once you put the kids in? what about a newborn?

Which strollers you take really depends on the ages of your children. On our May trip, we just took 2 el-cheapo umbrella strollers for our 2.5 and 4 yo's. I wasn't sure if this would be the right choice, but it couldn't have worked out better. While there were a few times when my kids would have better entertained each other if they had been side-by-side (They are more like twins in personality than their twin cousins!!), it was so much easier to have 2 separate strollers. First, we didn't block the flow of traffic. (There is nothing more irritating than being behind a wide group of folks who are just slowly strolling behind.) Second, we could move through the crowds more easily. Third, we could separate from time to time. Dh or our 12 yo ds would take one stroller and I'd take the other. Since we were in WDW for 10 days, this was definitely a bonus! Fourth, we never had to worry about someone taking our stroller. (While we've never had ANYTHING stolen at WDW, I always worry about our Maclaren double stroller. I didn't worry at all about $20 Walmart strollers.)

I can only speak of the MacLaren Twin Rally. I bought it and have NOT gotten my monies worth out of it. My youngest HATES it! She doesn't want to share her space with an older sibling and she HATES umbrella strollers in general-she prefers to sit up. I did bring it on my Jan 04 trip and used it for then DD(4) and DS(turned 3 on trip) and rented a comfy single stroller from A Baby's Best Friend for then DD(11months). For our Oct 04 trip with kids 5, 3 1/2, 21 months I bought a Peg Perego Pliko P3 for baby (she LOVES it!) which has a built in running board on the back and rented a double in the parks for the older 2.

Just have to add: Nobody stole my double MacLaren at Disney or my single MacLaren or my Peg Perego.

We travelled last month with DS 7, DD3 and DS 20 months. We have a double jogger at home, but knew not to bring that along, as it would have been quite bulky. Original plan was to bring singel Combi Savvy for toddler and rent a double for olders. However, it would have cost us over $150 in rental fees for our stay for the WDW double...Soooo, we last minute purchased a Chicco Velocita side-by-side umbrella for $100 online, free shipping and it was the best trip purchase we made! We were very happy with the comfort features for the kids and the ease of folding it up quickly for bus boarding during our stay. Seats had 5 position independent recline, as well as 5 point harnesses. It fit fine through turnstiles, monorail handicapped cars, and all doorways. When needed, it folded up conveniently and could be tucked nicely out of the way. We were VERY pleaseed with this model stroller and alot of people mistakenly thought we had a more expensive MacLaren...Just an opinion to help you out and maybe save some $. :flower:

my children will be 9 & 6 (will rent double at parks) and the younger two will be a young 2 (26 months) and 3 months...so i really want something to accomdate both of them with a baskets....the concern I had with the mclaren was that it seemed really wobbly when you reclined it (without a baby in it)...my youngest will be so little & just getting head control...so i'm tending toward the combi twin. i have a combi single & have not had much trouble with it....when i did they replaced the whole thing...so i'm leaning that way....unless somone can clarify about the swinging that the seat does when it reclines fully....

The Peg Twin Aria is LIGHT but not flimsy. It only weighs 14 pounds! Our boys have been in it since they were 7 months and probably could have gone in sooner with the seats reclined but we used a double snap and go with their carseats. We love it and will take it to WDW this fall.

I agree that the Twin Aria isn't flimsy. It is really light, but that's part of why I love mine. My two are 2.5 and 10 months. I've had it for about 6 months. It doesn't recline all the way flat, but it goes pretty low. I think my youngest was either 3 or 4 months when I got it, and I felt like it was low enough to put him in it safely. He is big, though. I think he was probably wearing about 18 month sized clothes at that age. He was in there too tight to fall out. :rotfl: Seriously, it has a 5 point restraint, so I think most 3 month olds would be fine.

My two boys are 38 pounds and 25 pounds, so the stroller takes a beating. I use it all the time, so I'm always getting it in and out of the trunk. It's fine, and it still steers incredibly easily. I can do it with one hand if I have to.

I had the Rally Twin and I really liked it. The fold is great for Disney. I used a Snuggler for the head area with my 2 month old. Both are nice, small folding options. I researched this alot when purchasing my strollers (I've now had about 5 doubles). Some people found the Combi too "plasticky" but many really look the book fold and light weight. I opted for the Maclaren because I love their steering and I like the umbrella fold. I did not find the Maclaren wobbly at all. If you were using the floor model, those sometimes get damaged because so many people use them (and they usually aren't particularly gentle). Honestly, with a head insert, I felt it was perfect for a small baby. It was nice and comfy.

Many also like the Peg Perego Aria Twin because it is lightweight. But it doesn't have a particularly small fold so that could be a problem with Disney transportation. Also, I don't think it has a full recline, so it might not be suitable until the baby is a little older.

thanks...that gives me alot to think about...i'm one that really wants the cart before the horse...but maybe i'll wait until the baby is born & then check out the strollers with him in it!!!
thanks again.
