Hi all,
We leave in three days and I am having a terrible time deciding between bringing our double jogging stroller or two umbrella strollers. We have a just barely turned five year old and two and a half year old. My ds (5) is a trooper, but gets tired after a two mile walk and my dd(2) does not like to walk when she can ride so I'm guessing Ill need two, but which combo. There will be 5 adults and only 2 kids so the getting it on and off the bus won't be an issue. What do you think?
Thanks for your input!

If your 5 year old doesn't weigh so much Thant the double stroller is hard to push, I'd probably take it. Other things I'd consider are which is easiest to fold up and which has the most storage underneath.

I know people do it but I think that there isn't too much worse than pushing an umbrella stroller all day, especially one with a 5 year old (unless you are talking about higher end like maclaren). We have made quite a few trips with our boys when they were 2 and I appreciated the full canopy of the bigger stroller along with the recline. They napped quite a bit in the strollers. My back and legs appreciated the push of the better stroller.

We used a double umbrella stroller for our first and second trip. It wound up getting broken from the airplane. On our third trip we used a double jogger, not only was much more easy to push three kids around it also provided plenty of storage.

Last summer we used a double jogging stroller with DD6 and DS3. It was easy to push and the kids were pretty comfy. DD6 was a little cramped when we put the rain cover down but she stayed dry:)! However, it was a bit bulky on the bus. DH handled it and I wrangled the kids. This year we are going to bring two umbrella strollers (jet made by first years). I am hoping DD won't really need one and we can leave it in the room most of the time. I am thinking it will make the buses easier too!

We were in WDW in December with DS6 and DS3. We had the same discussion before we went and ended up with 2 Maclaren Volo strollers. It was a great decision! They were easy to push and it was nice not to have a double in the crowds. Also, if we split up for any reason, each child still had their stroller. I bought both new online for about $100 each but you can find them on craigslist used for a lot less.

Thanks for all the replies! After reading this and talking about it ad nauseum with dh I think we will bring a single jogger and our Maclaren Volvo and attach the Volvo to the jogger. Thanks again!

Personally, I would never take a double stroller into Disney World. Trying to get it around all the people, and through the isles in the stores... I'd rather not go. Having two small umbrella strollers, for us, were MUCH MORE practical and easier to use. You can even get a connector piece if you want/need them to be together at any point.

I have the city mini double and single. On our last trip we took the single and maclaren... Totally regret it... The double is so much easier and the strollers were parked 80% of the time.. Then we would park them together to find them reorganized and not in the same area...We have a 6, 3 and 1 year old... .when they fell asleep on the way home we had to hold sleeping kids and a stroller..... We are heading back next month with the double...

I would say two umbrella strollers! They are so light weight and easy to handle. Getting off and on buses with bigger strollers is a true pain. Plus when you are pushing your kids all over the park, it is easier on you :)

We took a Maclaren and a Keekaroo (kind of like Maclaren). And we were VERY glad we didnt take the big double jogger. We didn't even consider it anyway.

We have the Joovy Caboose double stroller and wouldn't even think of bringing that considering we will be getting on and off buses. We are bringing our Silver Cross and a Maclaren stroller. Both reclined and have canopies.

For us, the double stroller on/off WDW transportation was a nightmare. Personally, I would opt for the two umbrella strollers. You can clip them together or use separately if you need to split up. Plus, they are much easier to get on/off the transporation. The jogging strollers take up a lot of room on a packed bus, even when folded. Plus, they get heavy to carry on/off the buses etc.
