Double FP for resort guests with seperate tickets.

I am sure there are CMs now instructing people how to get double FP+s...

:rolleyes1

No, they were not saying anything about it, not even the CMs at the FP machines. I was thinking that they'd call us on the room key use, as it states it's just a room key right on the front. Nope, not a peep, for or against.

Since some room keys are also your park ticket, there would be no reason for a CM to stop you from putting it into the machine.

I am sure this is not something that Disney would want every CM advertising to every person in the park! I bet they won't even be happy that it got out here...

CMs were letting us in a few minutes early, but were stopping people who came after their FP expired.

We were told/heard others being told that typically you can go 5 minutes early or 10 minutes late, but that was it. The only exception we had was 15 minutes early for TSMM when our Jedi training return time was potentially going to overlap with our FP time.

I just wish they would pull the plug and get everyone using the Fast+ magic bands. All this double dipping trying to get aorund the system using all these combos is crazy.. I hope after this last big test that the system is finally rolled out.. :mic:

This is all pretty interesting. I was going to link my UT tix for our trip Thanksgiving week, but I think I'll wait a while. There's so much new info right now, it makes my head hurt! ;)

Glad I came across this thread before we leave in 10 days. We're offiste for the first 3 park days, so no go there, but onsite for our last 5 and have UT tickets, so I'll be giving this a try on those days.

At some of the FP machines (like TSM) the CM takes your cards and feeds them into the FP machine. That's what I was talking about - it states right on the key 'room only' or somesuch. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

Actually room only is in reference to packages vs just a hotel room booked and has nothing to do with ticket entitlements.

And no CM is going to be trying to read KTTW cards at the TSM FP machines. LOL. The chaos and backup that would cause is enormous.

They don't need them feeding the machine in the first place, it's annoying.

you should have tried sticking in a piece of shrimp from Columbia Harbor House, I heard you can get unlimited FP.

LOL! I was thinking its like "Let's Make a Deal" now. Anyone have a pink safety pin? How about a movie ticket stub from "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure"?

We are participating in the MB testing. I linked our AP's to the magic band.

When we enter the park do we need to use our AP's to "activate" them or the magic band.
My understanding is that we will not get a room key, but we can still be able to obtain fastpasses at the machines.
We park hop and want to be able to obtain fastpasses at each park we go to that day.

I wouldn't let the CM take my cards at TSM. I just did it myself. I always do that, though, not just this trip. I can do it faster than the CM, as the CM lacks my motivation!

You use your MB to enter the park. Your APs are already active on it and they will also be active in the park without touching them to enter.

Interesting comments from Iger....

Disney Profits inch up.. Iger said the project MyMagic began a new "beta phase" Aug. 2 in which the systems will ultimately be used by more than 80,000 customers. He said guests who have used the features in early tests have reacted positively, though he did not elaborate. Iger said Disney is now targeting a "probable full rollout in the early part" of its 2014 fiscal year, which begins in October. Executives had previously said they were aiming to have MyMagic+ fully implemented by the end of this year. Disney profit inches up as travelers spend more -

But I believe that during the testing phase you will have room keys as a backup- in case the MB does not work. This is how you would access the current fast pass system. As far as I am aware they do not have the technology for the current system to give fp through a mb.

On Monday, I booked a one night room only at the Beach club for a pre-cruise night. We plan to go to MK on one day. Yesterday, I was FedEx'd an invitation to test Magic Bands! BUT, I was planning on just buying one day tickets when I get there, which if I want to try FP+ I cannot do, I need to purchase them ahead of time in order for them to be "linked". My question is, what is the best way to get my tickets so I can "double dip", or is that even possible???

Well you can buy a ticket on site and use both it and your room key for FPs in the standard machines. Not linking tickets would only prevent you from booking FP+ for 4 attractions (no parade or fireworks). Not a big deal if you are already able to double dip.

Interesting.... which month are you doing this stay in?

(The reason I ask is that so far only CR, AKL, YC and Pop for August stays have received invitations...)
