Double Dipping Traveling Turkeys WISH Journal

Worked another late day today. On the way home, DH calls to say he is going to KFC. I ask him to p/u something healthy for me as I am beat and in no mood to make me something to eat or swing by somewhere myself. Come home and he's gotten laptop meals, honey BBQ wings, potatoes, beans, and fried chicken. No grilled chicken, no salad, not much in healthy food. Hungry, yet exhausted - so I ate a bit of mashed potatoes and chicken (minus the skin).

Missed my workout today also. Ugh! Tomorrow is another day and I need to make up for lost time this week.

Today's a new day! Hope everyone is having a healthy day!

Finally, one pound down....... still walking.....
Still have not started on weight-bearing exercises......UGH.....
Still don't drink much water...... Shouldn't some Crystal Lite or something like that count as "water"? Unfortunately, I'm a sweet tea drinker (and really don't like artificial sweetners).

Okay - I'm off to get a drink of water.....

Sweet tea is one of my downfalls also.

I went to see the base nutritionist today. Very informing. I've got some planning to do this weekend. Figured I'd start putting some of the tips into play right away, while a few others will have to wait until I get a chance to restock at the commissary.

Did you realize that we should have no more than 2000mg of sodium a day and that one tsp of regular table salt packs in 2400mg? Yikes!

Thursday was a great workout day and Friday wasn't too bad either. However, getting enough water and not eating throughout the day was trouble again.

Yesterday (Friday) I had a NAked drink and a Strawberry Special K bar in the morning. Then I didn't eat anything else until after 8:30 that night - chinese food. Too much. :guilty:

Doing much better drinking water:drinking1 I think it's easier for me to drink water when it's hot. Forget it in the winter....must drink something hot then.
I managed to walk 4 miles yesterday morning and another 4 miles yesterday evening while DS was as baseball practice. The problem was that we didn't eat until 8:00 yesterday evening. Way too late for me. (Yes, we do have early seating scheduled on the cruise.) Thankfully, the 1 lb loss is still gone. :cool1:
Hope y'all have a great weekend.

Good going on the water, cjckclan, as well as all those miles. I am still having a problem with not eating all day, but I've brought a Pampered Chef timer into work and will be setting it to go off every two hours. I figure it will help me get up, drink some water, and have a light snack/meal, etc on a regular basis.

Just wish things weren't so busy at home and work. I cannot wait for school to end and the summer to begin. At least then I will not feel as rushed once I do get off of work.

I've not been able to visit DIS daily due to remodeling the room where we normally have our systems. Hopefully I'll be checking in regularly within 2 weeks.

Good Monday to everyone. Hope y'all survived the weekend. I thought for sure that I'd sabotaged myself last night when I sat down with the cereal box!:rolleyes1 But the scale was kind to me this morning.:thumbsup2
Okay...
Reporting in so someone will hold me accountable.
Today - 2 miles short of a normal Monday walk. I'm hoping to make that up tomorrow. So far just one HUGE mug of sweet tea. Maybe I'll take a bottle of water with me to the baseball game...
No, I just can't get myself downstairs to start the weights. I think I'll make that a goal for next week (okay, so I'm procrastinating!) when DS is home and can coach me.

How is everyone else doing?

I can see how this holiday weekend might sabotage me. To counterattack, I'm putting in extra miles and trying to be mindful of what I eat and how much.

Hey ladies.....long time.....no diet! I know it is an excuse, but with the pressures of DH leaving to go to MA, the move and a scary few days when I had to have a diagnostic mammo due to something questionable on my regular one (results in and all is well!!).........I have totally fallen off the wagon!

I have climbed back on and am attempting to get back to my point counting! I missed 2 weeks of WW so next monday I will go and find out the damage!!

I don't think I will meet my goal of losing 10 pounds before the move, but I am not going to blow this!

I am going to try....no, I AM GOING TO WALK TOMORROW MORNING!! I'll check in after!!:confused3

I think I need a group hug!!:grouphug:

I finally got my butt walking! Sammy (little dog) and I took approx a 3/4 mile walk....not too bad. After we got back I went out again and took Winnie (big fat old dog) for a short walk as well. They should sleep well today!!

I think I need a group hug!!:grouphug:

Group hugs coming your way...:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

And a bit of cheering :cheer2: for going on the walk this morning.

As for me....
The whole plan for starting the weight machine this week has been a bust so far. I did, however, carry drywall from the garage to the basement this morning. There is always tomorrow.:rolleyes1

I haven't been too well with the diet and workouts either. Things have been extremely busy between work and home. It feels as if everyone is trying to jam everything possible into these last few weeks before school lets out (14 June). I am counting down the days. Then the kids go off into various directions and I have my DH to myself for a bit.

Ugh I need to get back into the swing of working out I was so good then BUST. Though I am happy to report the wieght I have taken off (total 16lbs) has stayed off. But I feel like the process would be faster if I moved and worked out. Softball/baseball ends this weekend so I will def have more time starting next week

Kim

Sounds like a lot of us are feeling busted or pressed for time right now with school/sports/etc ending soon (plus a move ot two). Keep moving, even if it isn't as much as you have been. Soon we'll get out of this slump and be dropping those pounds, firming up, and losing sizes. :thumbsup2

:yay: warming up with jumping jacks :yay:

I must confess....I haven't walked in about 2 weeks due to all the activities at my DD's school, since they cram everything into the last few weeks of school. School is out this Thursday (June 21st) and I keep telling myself after school is out I'm going back to walking everyday!!!!

So how's it going for everybody? For me, I haven't exercised in a long time, I keep telling myself that I need to get back to it, but I haven't. :guilty:

How's it going? you ask. Not as well as I'd like. I'm still walking M-F 3.5 miles each day, but I just can't seem to get that scale to cooperate with me. I'm doing a bit better drinking water, but I could do better. Weight-bearing exercises.....:rolleyes2 that's a complete bust so far.

Hope y'all are doing better than I am.

Happy 4th!

Okay ladies....I'm back!!
I have gained the past few months....blaming the stress of the move;)

I went and bought new walking sneakers yesterday and plan to walk 5 x a week. I have to be out by 6am to be home by 6:30 when DH leaves for work but it's a start!!

How is everyone else doing??

I plan to RE-start weight watchers but am intrigued by Jenny Craig. Never had one close by, but there is one close here in MA......anyone ever tried it?
Hope all is well! My new weight lose goal is 30 lbs!! :scared1: :scared1:

Stress for me drops pounds because when I'm stressed it takes a conscious effort to eat. I just never feel like eating. However, I tend to put the pounds back on once I get past the stressful event. For instance, DH left this morning for a business trip probably until Sat, cable TV was out for the last three days, 2 guys came this afternoon to start working on the drywall finishing in the basement, and we just adopted a dog on Saturday, who I feel I need to keep a watchful eye on.:magnify: I have to say that he's been a good dog so far....no pp accidents. :thumbsup2 He sleeps well all night in his crate too. I think I'll feel a little calmer about this dog thing once he alerts me that he needs to go out and do his business. So far I've been so neurotic about it that I'm taking him out all the time and then he just sits in the grass and looks at me. I took him for an hour walk this morning. I think it was good for both of us. I feel less stressed, and he is sleeping on the kitchen floor. I'm now 2 lbs down and 3 to go, although I have to admit that I haven't been able to keep those last three pounds off since DD was born. She just celebrated her 13th birthday this weekend. :confused3

Oh my I've rambled on. Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the summer. :cool2:

I am definitely not a stress eater. Last three pounds gone already (but keeping them off will be a struggle). It seems that DS is allergic to the dog. So add to everything from the previous post, I have a coughing, hacking DS. So sad that we will have to return Boomer (the dog). He is a GREAT dog. Oh, the cable is back!! :)
