Thanks everyone for all of the congrats messages for Madison. I showed them all to her and she was very excited that you all were happy for her :) .
I have been looking for a fish extender online, but can't find one. What are the dimentions that it needs to be? Does anyone know where I can buy one? I am not what anyone would consider "crafty". My husband bought me a sewing machine for Christmas 3 years ago, and it has yet to come out of the box :rolleyes1 .

She should be very proud!!

Check out Post 577. I have some links to posts within this thread that give some good info. You'll see them under the "Cast Roll Call Submission/Various Interests section. I also posted some info on FE's on the DISDoubleDip.com site this morning in the Fish Extender Forum that you may find helpful.

O.K. I found a fish extender on ebay, searched under "organizer wall hanging" in case anyone need to find one there. ;)

I also see some right now from a keyword search of "fish extender". Just keep in mind that you want your width around 8"-9". I've seen some posted on their fish at 11", and it was hanging rather awkwardly.

zweihund... For your notes... Colorado muscat ice wine is -yummy!-

DH and I have been jonesing for ice wine, so we splurged and got a bottle. I started feeling all the tense muscles easing immediately after a 1/2 glass... :rotfl: Did I mention Fiona has become the Princess of NO! :headache:

Kimberly, I think it would be a good match for your strawberries, but remember, I'm such a wine snob I tend to buy wine in boxes because it keeps better... :snooty:

:rotfl:

hello all,

welcome newbies!

okay, we just got back from our carnival cruise this past weekend. we kept saying "it's just not disney". of course we only paid 1,700 for the week(2 adults, 9 y,o, and 4month old).

can't wait for september!

My mom who is travelling with us is also a big fan of wine in the box. I'm sure you can share a box together. BTW, what is ice wine? I have never heard of it. I don't drink, but I am sure my mom would like to try some.

Oh I agree! I tried ice wine for the first time when I went to the Food Show in Cleveland a few months ago. I hadn't even heard of it until I went there. I still need to be well educated on it.

Welcome home, Kris! At least you got some quality family time, right?! Now you have that one out of the way, you can concentrate on the real big party boat, the DDD Magic! :rotfl:

Just wondering what everyone thinks! Should I call DCL and make sure our Castaway Club number is added to our reservation? Also, should we add the anniversary (the day after the cruise) and my birthday (5 days before) to the reservation? I feel weird because it sits right between the two and it's not like they can't actually see my birthdate lol!

Since this is our first repeat cruise I'm not sure what the etiquette is about it all!

My mother will be joining me on the cruise. We're very much looking forward to sharing this time together. Just this past weekend, she mentioned to me yet again that people she works with at the hospital (she's an RN) keep saying she'll not enjoy it because the cruise is all about kids. :headache: Thankfully, I've educated her enough to know just how much the cruise can be enjoyed by adults in and out of the adult-only zones, and she already knows all about the signature service Disney provides. So I'm not concerned that she thinks she's going to feel out of place or disappointed, but it frustrates me. She's even tried to explain to them that they completely have it wrong. I cannot wait for her to return to tell them all about the joyful moments and relaxing time she had!! :snooty:

Our conversation got me to thinking just how many of us adult "kids" have our parent(s) and/or grandparent(s) joining us. I knew there were several, but as you know, I love stats! From the rollcall list, I see 23% of us will have parent(s) and/or grandparent(s) joining us in September. Many of you even have 3+ special people in these categories coming along.

I thought that the topic of having our elders with us may be one for discussion on our website for us to contribute to or for them to chat amongst themselves, so I added a new thread under the General Discussion Forum. I've even includes the DISers' names of this elite group.

(Aunt) Michele (Shoes99) :) , I noticed you recently posted a review of cabin 7122. This is the stateroom we'll be staying in this September that you were in this past September. Thanks for posting that!!

Did just a brief reading,

Congrats Madison, time like reading that I wish I had a girl I miss girlie stuff like that

But on that same note I will be staying FAR away from ANYTHING strawberry related. NO THANK YOU, no shortcake, no cheesecake, no ice cream, no mickey waffales if it has anything strawberry on it LOL! But for the rest of you eat up Ill be sure to be at the buffet table armed and ready with whipped cream to put on top of YOUR strawberrys and a camera! (OH YES I WILL!)lol

Been meaning to ask if any of our Double Dippers scrapbook?

If so would anyone be interester in doing a swap we could actually swap on board LOL Live and in person. Or maybe do a circle journal or both? If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them. It would be a great way for us to start getting our scrapbooks ready before the cruise for all those great pics im sure we will be snapping up!

well i am sorry to say the weather last week in St. thomas, san juan and grand turk was about 75 during the day. it was just aweful. (heavy sarcasm). :cool1: on the last day someone said it was 4 degrees in NJ. i was happy to see that they meant celcius.:rotfl2:

we went with my daughter's soccer coach (single, never been on a plane, cruise, horse or out of NJ. he did all on this trip). we were tagging along with another soccer family. 11 in all. it was a great time and very relaxing. everything was adult oriented. not our scene. too many drunks and ubnoxious young adults. all the deck games were 18 and older even though most were silly games( how many ping pong balls can you collect in your suit. how many spoons can you retieve off the bottom of the pool).

i never saw the kids from the kids camp anywhere on the ship until friday. we had a 8, 9 and 10 year old with us. the kids camp breakdown was 9-11. they wouldn't let the 8 y.o. move up (4 months shy of 9. their rule is they have to be within 3 months of a b-day to move up). the other two refused to go to the camp because of this. most of the camp activities were extra $$. the cruise director was very proud of the fact that there were 700 kids on the ship and you didn't know it. they hid them well. turned me off.

soda card was 44.00 for the week. no walk on alcohol. i know disney is more expensive but i'd rather pay up front and not feel that i am getting nickled and dimed to death. my DD will have to be drug away from the oceaneers club in september.

there was no babysitting service for infants at all. well okay, there was between the hours of 10pm and 3am. does me alot of good. i was asleep by 8pm every night. josh was up between 4:45 and 6am every morning so to allow DD and DH to sleep, we went up on the pool deck till breakfast. got great deck chairs!! LOL!

josh (4 month old) has been very cranky since getting back to jersey. he liked being almost naked.

for anyone going to st thomas, i HIGHLY recommend taking the ferry(closest one to the ships) over to st john and going to trunk bay. My absolute favorite place so far!!

Ice Wine: I am not much of a wine drinker (I prefer Coke:rotfl2: ), but Dh nejoys it and has learned a lot during our monthly wine and cheese nights wit hour German and French friends. So here is what he tells me about Ice Wine (other than he LOVES:love: it):

Ice wine is made by leaving the grapes on living vines as winter sets in. As the grapes freeze they begin to dehydrate. Lots of liquid is gone but the sugars do not evaporate. Thus, what liquid remains in the grapes is very concentrated and sweet. As the grapes are now very small and shriveled it takes substantially more to press a bottle and some may be lost in the freezing process so the price sky rockets. The result is a very sweet dessert wine. DH says it goes excellent with the soufle at Palos. DH also notes that he makes this soufflee (true) and if you bring the ice wine he will make the souffle:lmao: Cheaper "psuedo ice wines" are made after the grapes have been thorugh one frost and are less sweet or have an added sweetener.

posted 2x. don;t know why.

Because it was so good it should be read twice!

Oops, I just realized that this:

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, 'WOW! What a ride!'

is your signature! But what a good one! That is what should be read twice!

Thanks everyone for all of the congrats messages for Madison. I showed them all to her and she was very excited that you all were happy for her :) .

Tell her congratulations and to keep up the good work from a professional NBA dance team member!

Jen congrats on finding out the sex of the new baby! Now you can plan accordingly. After all, that is what us Disers do, plan, plan and plan some more :rotfl: .

WELCOME VIKKIGZ & KELLY you will all learn a lot here, I know I have.

As far as weather goes, we have been cold here in Oregon, but no snow in my area, which hardly makes all of the cold worth it! I would LOVE a snow storm  !

I just have to mention: We attended a Nationals cheerleading competition this weekend and my daughter, Madison's, team won first place in their division and her team also got Grand Champion! It was pretty exciting. Cheerleading is one of the sports that she really loves and I am very proud of her long running commitment to her team.:cheer2:

Madison is still waiting to speak to some more kids on Disdoubledip.com......

That's all for now.
