I agree...it is awesome!

Thanks for the pixie dust, Crissi!! I'm inhaling as much of it as I can get!

Welcome to all the newbies on our thread !!

:welcome:

I have a question regarding the DCL Transfers........we are going to stay at POP the night we get back from the cruise..........I asked DU if the DCL Transfer would take us there and they said that POP is not on their route.
They did say that they have heard that they may take you there for a nominal fee sometimes but they could not say for sure..........anyone have experience with this? I would not be able to stand it not knowing if they would take us over to POP for sure..........

I think we may go with a FL tours van instead.

Crissi

we stayed at the pop in may and then went on the 4 night cruise. what we did was get the magical transfer to the airport and then the disney transfer from there it worked out fine for us, but there was only the 2 of us. we could have went to one of the other resorts that did have the disney transfer but it would have got us to the ship later in the day. i just had my ta arrange for the pick-up from the pop to be earlier in the morning so we could get on one of the first buses going to the port.

It's dangerous to be sick yet not tired while sitting on the couch with a laptop near you! Why? Because I'm sitting here making Christmas purchases, which includes making a Cafe Press purchase! I'll let you all know if I get questioned or rejected. I ordered cap sleeve t-shirts and spiral bound journals.

BTW, I did a Google search to see if there were any coupons published out there. I found this current one:

So Buckeye Girl.

Both myself and my DW are Badgers.

I see when we arrive pack in Port there is a faceoff between the mighty Badgers and the Buckeyes.

:lmao: That's so funny! I looked at the 9.27.08 schedule about 4 weeks ago wondering who the Bucks were playing! Now I know I have some fun competition!

Hi All!

I'm new to the boards and wanted to introduce myself and say hello!

I'm RetroJulie's dh and will be joining her on this cruise (much to her dismay!) ;)

Can't wait to meet everyone!

*wave* Hiya!

What are your obsessions and we'll add them to the list? So far we have bookworm fanatics, sci-fi aficionados, mixology obsessions (Yummy!), card-playing maniacs (Euchre, Spades, Hearts, and various other gang signs), and sports obsessions (evidently large woodland animals and cookies like to rumble... *scratching my head* I don't get it, so I'm just nodding and smiling and backing away slowly...). You get bonus points if you actually KNOW the rules to shuffleboard.

:rotfl:

I'm sure Julie told you we were crazy, but you're more than welcome to join in the chaos! :thumbsup2

After adding the two new magical pre-Disney Cruise "souveniers" that were announced this week, your family brings our DIS family total to.... (drummmmmm rollllllllll..........)

400!!
:dance3:

You and your family also represent a new country, so we are now up to 5 countries (details in Post 577, of course!)!! Your daughter will be joined with two other 7 yr old princesses (and plenty of 6 and 8 yr old girls), and your son will join five other 4 yr old buddies!

Our second milestone for the day is that today marks 350 days until we cruise!! :woohoo:

Wow that is incredible Kimberly!! I can't believe we have 400!! I have been staying busy so I haven't had the chance to post, but I have been reading along almost everyday. Hope everyone is doing well :goodvibes

:wave2: Hello, Lisa! Good to see you again. How was your WDW trip that you recently took?

Quick story...I was looking for another Meets thread this afternoon, and I had a "holy cow" come out of my mouth! Why? Well, the 10.20.07 Meets thread, which originated 19 months ago, is 2,439 pages and 36,579 posts long!!!! :scared1: Yikes! I don't think we're even that chatty!! The OP updated Post #1 with basically a "don't be scared that we're so big" welcome. :rotfl: He told them how to just dig right in and join them in the fun. I guess opening up that thread for the first time would be one of those moments when you just say "I don't even know where to start"! :rotfl2:

Hi all.

We just got back this past weekend from our 4th cruise with DCL.

We rebooked for this double dip. As of now...we are scheduled to go.

So...I guess this is hello.

Jim

Welcome and Congrats! We look forward to meeting you and your family! Our DGS will be 16 mos. when we sail. See you at the Mickey Pool!

We're about to go and get on the Wonder for our little three-day taster, back soon! My project will be finished next week, so I will REALLY be back soon. :thumbsup2

Welcome Home Erica! I took a pic of the Wonder from my balcony at Atlantis on Tuesday morning, looked for you at the beach bars, then came home and realized I had the wrong dates in mind for your cruise! :rotfl2: It was really wierd seeing the ship out there, but knowing I didn't belong on it. I left my window open in the evening, trying to hear the whistle when she left, but I left for dinner before that happened. Now I'm really excited about our Double Dip!!!!! 349 days!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

YES!!!!!!! :) :) :) :goodvibes

CONGRATULATIONS! I'm pretty sure you can get the baby's SSN within 2 mos and then get a rush on the passport. I was just at Atlantis this past week! Great place - not too rough for your condition - you are fine, I'm sure!

hi all
just back from Eastern 29 Sept 07 (had a great time) and booked again for next year on double dip. Have been reading the boards for along time and got loads of good tips etc for last cruise. Noticed all the Disboard door signs this time and thought it would be good to get in touch - have two children girl who will be 7 and boy who will be 4 next time and they didnt get really involved in kids clubs due to not knowing anyone. Maybe could join some meets on cruise or in WDW the week prior.

Have been DVC members for 5 years and all just love WDW.

If anyone has any info regarding this get in touch or ill trawl through the great number of threads

Had a great time this year and cant wait for next

WELCOME! I'm sure with this big a group, your kids will have shipmates this time!

Hey there everyone! Sorry I haven't been too active this past week. I assure you I've been reading to keep up. I've been on vacation this week (and sick unfortunately), so I haven't quite been in my normal routine. So I have lots to update you all on....here's the first, which is pretty cool!

Brandie's TA, Greg, reached out to me on the DoubleDip09-2008 Hotmail mailbox and stated that he is going to be on-board with us. He and his family are very excited to go. In support of Brandie's thoughts about her wonderful TA, he told me that he is going to have magnets made up with our logo! That's very generous of him, I think! He'll likely pass them out near Erik at the port so when you pick up your lanyard (remember to register with me to get one for each member of your family), you can receive a magnet momento as well. :)

Thanks, Greg and Kara!

Wow! Thanks to Greg and Kara! It will be great having them with us! Kimberly, hope you are feeling better! Hope you can catch up - such a chatty group that it has taken me 3 days to catch up since I came back!

We just did the same thing you did...

We stayed at All star movies for a few days and then on saturday we went to the port. They told me I needed to get the swan (take a taxi or something) then take the DCL bus to the port. But guess what, it did not leave until 1200 noon or something like that. I wanted to be on the ship at the pool by noon.

We purchased a private van from all star movies to the port for 3 of us for $105 plus tip. he picked us up at 9:00am and we were at the port shortly after 10:00. I got on the ship by noon and was at the pool shortly after. I think it is worth doing it the way we did it because you can leave when you want to. It may cost a few extra dollars, but it is worth it because you can get on the ship and start having fun right away.

Hope that helps.

Jim

Jen/Ron and Jim/Maureen, I thought I would let you know that there are 2 other families registered who will have infants onboard with us under the age of one year.

  • Andromeda9mm's friends (approx 10 months old)
  • njdrumrun (approx 12 months old)
BTW, njdrumrun, are you lurking out there during 3:00 am feedings yet? ;)

I think ours might be the younges thought. thanks for all the congrats and support. I need it because I love DCL and don't want this to be a waste of time with the new baby. I want it to be just as fun as every year we go.

my biggest worry at this point is going to be that passport.

Hi Jim, my sentiments exactly....if I'm not at the pool by 11am with a BBC in hand....I will get very upset.

We're on a 4 night Halloween cruise and leave in just ten days from now. We'll stay 2 nights in Cocoa Beach before cruise and be at the port at 9am. Then we'll do WDW after cruise.

I'm sooooooo happy because this cruise will be the third of 3 that I have already booked in just 11 months. I have another planned too but it's way too early to book it.....yes, I am addicted!

:hippie: :hippie: :hippie:

I found a shirt I thought would make you chuckle: http://shirt.woot.com/friends.aspx?k=3829

Pirate Penguin!

If it wasn't in cream, DH would already have one on order for Xmas.

He might get one of these:
http://shirt.woot.com/friends.aspx?k=3856 ('Cause it looks rather Asian, and he likes all things Asian)

or this one: http://shirt.woot.com/friends.aspx?k=3849 (Because it is his favorite color--poo poo green.)

The goof in me likes this one: http://shirt.woot.com/friends.aspx?k=3816

Those Woot shirts are a hoot! My husband is a Linux user and a pirate lover. That first one fits the bill!

I believe I originally posted that we are in a Category 9 on Deck Number 1. Because my DW did not want to be on Deck Number 1, I upgraded our room. And, as a surprise to the family, I REALLY upgraded the room. We are now in a Category 4 on Deck Number 8.

Sweet! :thumbsup2 Try not to stomp too hard to rub it in to me on Deck 7! :rotfl:

We're back fom our little mini-cruise - :sad1:
Tammy - I loved the pic :goodvibes - that's pretty much how it looked on Friday morning too!
Congrats to the moms-to-be!
And, that's all I have time for until next week. My project is almost done. YAY!
