grumpy-gramps....

You're the first to represent the state of Virginia!! We are now up to 27 states in the Union and a total of 4 countries represented!!

That rocks! I like those games, too... So long as I don't have to sculpt anything in Play-Doh. One of my favorite "in-jokes" is "BabyFishMouth!" when DH and I are just not communicating on the same wavelength.

Brandie

Yeah....I don't think that DCL has the cranium games onboard, though, unfortunately....and it's not an easy game to pack. Taboo could relatively easily be packed, however...as could "CatchPhrase" (because both of them don't have very many pieces/parts and aren't that heavy....for Cranium you'd have to bring the playdough, all the cards, the timer, the gameboard and pieces...it's just a bigger pain). Maybe Jason and I will bring those and a deck of cards and we can arrange our own special DIS game nights/afternoons.

Hello all! We're finally back from our "Wonder-ful" trip! I can't say enough about this trip! We had a blast and only a few martini blackouts! We arrived at our Palo ressie about a half hour early and sat at the bar waiting for our table. Stani (the bartender) made us the best martinis then we went back to the bar after dinner for desert martinis! Then we went to Pirate Night - veeery happy!
We had so much fun we went back the next night for before dinner martinis at Palos before heading to Animator's Palate.

Jen - we were at every Bingo except the last one. When did you win? And was Savanna a Dwarf with Snow White at the Golden Mickeys? It was fun to meet you and I hate that it was so late in the cruise when we ran into eachother. How many pictures did you end up with?

I've never written a trip report, and don't think I can remember everything, but this was the best vacation I have ever had!!!!

Kimberly - I did raise my Sail Away drink for you!

I love the horn! I want it for my cell phone ring! It sounded 3 times before we left Cape Canaveral.

I also stopped by the rebooking desk to ask about rebooking with the onboard credit. I was told that this cruise is close to selling out and that if we rebooked it would cost us more than the onboard credit would give us. (we would also have to give up our SPR - and that's not happening!) When I got up from the desk a man came up to me and asked if I was asking about the Sept '08 double dip and wanted to know what GTY was. I think this is a very popular cruise!

Doug and I were so nervous the kids would never speak to us again once they found out we went on a Disney Cruise without them, so we brought them a "few" gifts to make it a little easier to swallow. Even though Megan was playing with her obvious Disney toys, she didn't realize we went on a Disney cruise until we were watching the pictures on our TV and saw the princesses. She yelled out that's where we went (meaning last year at WDW) and I said no, that's where Daddy and I went. The next picture was of the ship and she got this disgusted look on her face and said, "You went on a Disney Cruise without ME!" She didn't settle down until we reassured her we were still going next year and bringing her. :rotfl: Grady really could have cared less (That is once he saw the Star Wars Lego ship we got him).:darth: :yoda: :chewy:

We had a little bit of extra time before our train arrived, so we decided to kill some time over at Downtown Disney. That was fun and we were able to pick up some more Guilt Gifts for the kids.

I hope what I've written is not too confusing. I did not sleep well on the train ride home last night, and I'm suffering from Wonder withdrawl. But Stefi gave me the recipe for my favorite martini (of the 12 we tried) and I'm going to have to make some of these this week to help me feel better.

Erik and Hadley - I love the idea of putting our name and dis name on the cards. I also love Hadley's idea of putting my dis name with my family and friend that doesn't post. I confuse easily too. :lmao:

Welcome new cruisers! The cruise we just got off of was a blast, so I can only imagine that next September is going to be sooooo much better with this group! I kinda feel sorry for the people who don't DIS. They will be so confused.

Have a great day everyone!

Welcome back Tiffany!! (And Doug too! :) )
Yes, I won Bingo on the last night.....we were too late to make the show so we went there instead. That was the first time we've gone! What a blast! Of course winning made it that much better! :rotfl: We actually *almost* won the stinko bingo (we were one of the last two tables standing) but lost that round and ended up winning the postage stamp (ironic. I actually called that I would win that one from the beginning since I work for the post office). We had to share the pot with one other person, so what was a $98 take ended up being only $49. That's ok though we had a great time, and I got to do the "shakira shake" when I called Bingo! (Yikes!!!):rotfl2:

No Savannah was not a dwarf. We got there early and I actually sat us right up front and stage left where they sit all the dwarves, but they had already selected all of them. I went up to the CM over there and asked if he had enough kids and he said yes, he was sorry but all of the dwarves were already selected. :sad2: I sat there and counted them and I only counted six. Hmmm. I even switched seats so she was over on the end right next to the group of kids just in case they "accidentally" ushered her backstage with the rest of them. But once they came onstage I remembered that the "real" Dopey was at the end of the line, so they did in fact only need six. Oh well.:confused3 ....There's always next time!!!:cutie:

It was great meeting you guys too, and it was such a shame that it wasn't till the end. Of course we will have plenty of time to hang out next year!! Oh, did you have the toblerone martini at Palo! OMG, it was to DIE for! It was like drinking liquid chocolate!!! I even had it before dinner, it was just so dang good. I could've drank about 10 of them...by the looks of my shipboard charges I did! :lmao:

Speaking of.....although we spent way too much (It is just too darn easy to whip out those kttw cards) I *was* able to restrain myslef in Shutters. (Everyone: That's where Tiffany and Doug found me btw......right where you'd expect to find me!!!!!:rotfl2: ) We got out of there under $200. I did have to make some concessions and drop a few into the slot of doom, but there will be any more opportunities next year (and hopefully some new backgrounds). I was trying real hard to catch Captain Jack for a photo op, but I never did...:confused3

Gosh I hope Grady (and mostly) Megan aren't too dissapointed. They will have such a fantastic time next year!!!!:bride: pirate:

Shuffleboard? Hmmm. We actually walked across the board during someone's game. On accident of course, but I thought it was funny all of the discussion about knowing how to play. Heck, we didn't even know it when we walked right through it, so don't feel bad! HA!

Wow another Grumpy John Welcome:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

We like SkipBo, Phase 10 and Uno! We can bring them if anyone is interested. They are small and travel well.

Brandie and Erik--we all have to move into the same town because you just listed all my favourite board games (except Outburst, I like that a lot also). We have such a hard time finding other people who like to play games also :sad2: (fun games, not Clue and Monopoloy!--sorry all of you who love those).

Okay, so before hte Transatlantic repo crusie we spent lots of time planning to while away the sea days playing Euchre, Canasta, etc wit hvarious people from the meet thread. Well, EVEN on the repo with 6 straight sea days, we were so busy doign DCL activities (including games--LOVE Scattegories and Pictionary on the ship) that we only managed to play mayeb an hour of cards (with Erik and Jsaon). So, I will likely throe in a deck of cards whe nI pack just in case, but I doubt they will get used and I am now refusing to commit to any scheduled games (what if it conflicts with a tour I want to take, or Pictioanry run by the cruise staff, or Family Magic Quest, or well you get the picture!). But we do also enjoy SKipbo and uno when we want a quick game.

NEW PEOPLE!!! Welcome!! Are there any staterooms left empty on the ship???

My wonderful TA just emailed me he's got a Cat. 5 he'd be happy to give me... :rotfl: for a small price! I can upgrade mom's Cat 11 to Cat 5... Not happening!

Anybody else interested in the Cat. 5? It's a part of the group space (discount? what's the right word here?) he has. I know people had checked on the cruise and only saw Cat 6, 8, and 10's free.

In the interest of full disclosure, he offered me a $50 referral OBC. :rotfl:

Hi Everyone...

Welcome to the new families.

You CAN have it as your ringtone on almost any phone. I had it on my phone, I had the Motorola RAZR prior to getting an iPhone. There is a program called Pix N Tunes, you can find it at Best Buy, or go to Datapilot.com, and you will see how to purchase it. You can essentially have ANY song as your ringtone, it's so easy. Yeah, I heard the horn ring every single time Rob called or texted me, pretty cool!

I hope you had a great trip, Tania! Any particularly exciting stories to share?

So you're another one of the lucky ducks doing a back to back! I don't blame you for taking full advantage of your time when you're nearly half way across the Earth!

Very cool! I have an SD card that allows me to use songs as my ringtone. Do you know where I can find the sound bite for the horn? I have a Mororola Razor too. (No iPhone for me - too confusing!) :lmao:

Grumpy Gramps - Love the ears!

Sorry Kimberly the only exciting thing was getting up at 4.30am  to go to the airport. We stayed the night 5 minutes away as we are 1 hour drive and at that time of day the more sleep the better!

We spent the time by the pool with the kids in the pool. It was lovely weather. Came back to hail and rain.

Yes we thought we'd make the most of our trip to Florida as it will take a couple of days to get there. The flight arrival into LAX means we have to stay the night before flying to Orlando. We are also spending a week WDW after our cruises.
