PapaMoose--Welcome. I am so glad that the dog banter pulled you out of the shadows. Pop in and say hello every so often will ya?:)

Hi Chris--nice to see you posting.

Tiffany and Jen--ENJOY the cruise. Lucky, lucky ducks.

Funny story: Marika looks a lot like Dave as far as facial features go (and she is tall like her Daddy) and a WHOLE lot like Dave's mom. She also has lovely (in her Mommy's opinion anyway) olive skin which tans into a most perfect olive/bronze shade after about 10 minutes of sunlight. So tonight at Pippin practice someone in the theatre troupe asked if hthey could ask a rude question. Sure why not? I am not easily offended. So he wanted to know what nationality Marika was:rotfl: It took me a minute to figure out what he was getting at. She is so dark complected he thought she was either adopted or else from a previous marraige:rotfl2: I love it! She does speak with a funny accent (I guess children should not live in 5 states before they are 8) which often casues people to think she is British and more than once someone who has never met David has assumed my husband is Latino, but she looks so much like him I have never had someone who kNOWS us both think she was adopted before. What a riot that was.

Jason and I own 200 points at SSR and 210 at AKL Villas (although we've never stayed there yet since it just opened...but we're plannign on staying there in a 1 bedroom for a week prior to the Double Dip). We've stayed at Saratoga a few times (and ironically....we are from Rochester, NY---so we're only about 3 hours away from the real Saratoga). The other DVC resorts we've also stayed at are Beach Club and Boardwalk.

In terms of hotels, we've stayed at Caribbean Beach, the All Star Movies & Music, Pop Century, and Animal Kingdom. We are staying in Port Orleans Riverside in December when we're there.

We look forward to staying in all the other DVC resorts and in some of the other hotels----like we really want to stay in the newly renovated Contemporary rooms and in the Polynesian sometime, too.

ironically I was born in Rochester, NY, and I have a sister that still lives there! I left in 1967, probably before you were born.

We have all 225 of our points at VWL.

You will stay at one of my faves, Dixie Landings. I still love that place. We have stayed in all but AKV and Vero for DVC and all the resorts except GF and Pop and Shades of Green. I really love coming to Disney!!:thumbsup2

What a nice guy not thinking you are crazy inviting everyone to Bring Your Own Pillows to your room :lmao: Did you say that is why I am asking them to bring pillows so they can all find a spot :)

Of course, makes sense to me, right? ;) Wait 'til he sees the Lounge sign on our door - he is going to croak! :rotfl2:

Hello all -

I've been lurking since August when I found this thread. 1759 posts later I've registered. I thought about it for the logo voting, but since it all seemed to come out the way I would have voted I stayed a lurk (but a fabulous job, Erik). When I saw the quips about the wand and the dog, I just couldn't pass it up.

I don't know how to do the real "quoting" thing, so I just cut and pasted the relevant remark:

"okay; i waved the dog-wand in the air said the magic words bibbity bobbity bark and the mess stayed but the remote control is missing and i seem to be missing some shoes, so i will have to take the dog into magic shop to get fixed and see what happens."

First of all, Tiffany, I thought that the "Bibbity, Bobbity, Bark" line was inspired.

But what really got me was taking the dog into the magic shop. We don't have any dogs (just fish), but I always thought that dogs were taken to the vet to get fixed.

Anyway, now that I have that out of my system, we booked this trip in July. We have 2 Cat 11's for me, DW, DD's (10 & 5) and DS (8, just barely) (all ages at time of sailing). We're really looking forward to it. We have our box in the closet labeled "Cruise Stuff". It's pretty empty now, just a couple of eye patches and a Hawaiian shirt. The tuxedo I bought for $15 (you can't beat a resale shop "Going Out Of Business" sale) doesn't fit in the box.

Has anyone else thought about grabbing some cheap piratety stuff on November 1? We have lots of Halloween stores that have popped up in vacant storefronts over the last month or so, and I'm thinking that they will be looking to dump excess inventory after Halloween.

Ok, back to lurking mode. I'll see you all in another 1800 posts or so.

->joe

(no signature line, not that sophisticated)

Welcome Joe! Glad you unlurked! STay and play awhile - you'll be quoting and putting in a great siggie in no time! Thanks for the reminder about Halloween clearance! We don't really celebrate so I didn't think about scouting out pirate stuff - that will be fun! :yay:

Maybe you waved the wrong end of the dog? Any idea which way the wand went down? Maybe if you try waving the other end of the dog it will work.
If not your shoes then who's might they be. I say if they fit just keep them and put them to use.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

That's too funny! :rotfl: What was her reaction when you answered?

Thought I would share a few pictures of the PRE cruise and POST cruise "Party" House... since you all will be staying with me... :goodvibes

Wow! Great place! Makes me want to change our Hyatt plans - any room in the dog house?

:welcome: Papamoose! Our daughter Megan will be 5 and Son Grady will be 8 when we cruise! I love to bargin hunt and will be on the lookout for great Pirate stuff! pirate:

Pfishgirl love the house! I think the closet will be great! I take it these pictures were before you moved in? Empty closet? I can't even imagine that. :confused3 Can we get a picture of the view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks? Oh, and I love the last picture! Will that be the dessert spread at your house too?

Kimberly - One of the reasons we are taking a trip with out the kids is so we can have a few :drinking1 without worrying about them! I'll be sure to raise my sail away party drink just for you! :dance3: I can't believe I'll be on the Wonder tomorrow!!!!! :woohoo:

Grady knows we are going on a Carribean cruise, but doesn't know we are taking a Disney Cruise. We were talking in the car yesterday and he informs me that, "You and Daddy might have a good time on YOUR cruise, but we are going to have the BEST time on the Disney Cruise next year!" Doug and I are going to be in sooooo much trouble when we get home. :rolleyes1

the closet for the small sized family to use

:lmao: :lmao: You totally crack me up! You DO have the perfect party house! Heck...I'll take a rocking chair on the front porch! You're quite the little hostess who thinks of everything!

:yay: The time has indeed come for you to go!! Grady's comment is so cute! I'm sure you were grinning from ear to ear!

Enjoy!!

::yes:: Walk out the door into the front yard look to your right and the Fireworks are Right there.. I'm not sure if I have pictures.. :confused3 I had a few on my phone but I don't know how to show them here..

We didn't move.. It is a 2nd home.. We decided to get rid of our local timeshare and not join DVC and instead get our own future retirment home..

That ship made me just want to take a nice big bite out of it popcorn::

DH went to Home Depot, came back and surprised me with 2 wooden rocking chairs for the front porch from Cracker Barrel :cloud9:

We bought ALL the furniture from Direct Buy.. We have mattresses and box springs but no frames yet.. They were suppose to be here by the 3rd..

We are also waiting on the Loft sectional, The Kitchen set, The Dinette set and 2 Bar Stools for the little island in the kitchen..

We do have a sofa and a love seat and a coffee table & 2 end tables plus we bought a small TV so the living room down stairs is all set up

We have a "sitting" room that we haven't decided what we want in it yet.. Desk and Big overstuffed chair or maybe a bookcase.. Dunno.. DH & I can't agree on what we want there..

What a wonderful problem to have. I know what I want to do with my house but I have this addiction to DCL vacations so nothing gets done. DCL gets all my money because I am in social work so there isn't alot of extra. However, I love what I do for a living and I guess that just isn't a fact for most folks.

Talking about work, I guess I had better get ready and show up. I will stop in later tonight. Lois
