Welcome Michelle. My daugher Marika will be 11 o nthe cruise. We LOVE late dining (and will have it). We enjoy getting to discuss the show over dinner (and like to go party afterward--if we sit through a show after dinner we get tired and then want to sleep befoer all the fun parties). It's also nice to get to have a later breakfast on the last night.

Well I'm kinda back...I decided to take a break today and catch up on the boards and posted that message. Tmw (Sunday) is the really bad day....there's a group memorial and calling hours that goes from noon to 6pm...and I'll probably be at it for the entire time so it's going to be a draining day...but then it'll be pretty much over and hopefully things can get back to normal.

Okay. It is good to think about otehr things once in a while and I for one look forward to seeing your bouncing Tigger posts and will be so happy to see more of htem again soon (whenever it works for you). I will be sending MANY extra hugs and good thoughts your way tomorrow. The hardest funeral I ever went to was for a 13 year old (and it was only one). We really have been talking about you guys all afternoon. Between eating food that I love that you also love and having a friends here who are driving to a meeting in Rochester Tuesday (I keep threatening to stow away with him).

Oooooo I love that we will have quite a few girls in the 11-12 age range from our group. HoagiePie's daughter is also going to be 11. My own (Marika) will be 11 getting near 12 (Christmas baby). As we get closer and get a kids' meet going, I bet that group will take off pretty well. Marika really enjoyed meeting people through the kids google group for our last cruise and still keeps in touch with HoagiePie's daughter through email even now.

I was thinking once about how odd it was that I don't really know what people do for a living either……So how 'bout the rest of you???? Introduce yourselves a bit. A few of us from the last cruise know each other and careers, etc but lets all get to know one anotehr better.

No seriously, I am a project manager for a major global financial firm busy planning and managing teams to implement solutions for my internal clients, who are working towards getting investment information out to you, the external client. The types of technology projects I typically manage are related to application and database fixes, upgrades, or replacements. I am a PMP. No...that's not "PIMP"! (This is a family channel, ya know!) PMP stands for Project Manager Professional. (are you still awake?) It's a project management certification from a globally known organization named the Project Management Institute. I'm still waiting to find out what I really want to be when I grow up! My friends say I should go into catering or party/event planning....I can't really disagree with that from an interest perspective!!

I have not yet been blessed with my own children, yet hope and pray that will happen someday soon (the clock is ticking!). I adore kids and get a thrill out of putting smiles on their faces and laughing with them. So since I'm not busy playing a taxi mom, my spare time tends to be consumed by working more than I should, scrapbooking, amateur photography, cooking, decorating cakes just for giggles, a little bowling action (no serious competitor here), making fish extenders , going to events of friends kids, and being there to help others when I can.

Although I don't do it often enough, I also enjoy going to Columbus Symphony Picnic with the Pops, plays, color guard and drum & bugle corps competitions, baseball games, dance competitions for the little princesses in my life, and (big surprise) heading down to the Shoe for some Buckeye Football action, which includes tailgating and TBDBITL of course!!

Kim - DH and I bowl too! We have league night every Tuesday....we're not that great but it's still fun. I'm a scrapper too, AND a curvy brunette. Are you sure we're not the same person?

Well, as for my "stats" - I'm an Occupational Therapist, which is not job counselling like it sounds. I work at the rehab hospital attached to ORMC (the big Orlando hospital) and I teach the injured people who come to the unit how to take care of their personal needs again - like dressing, bathing, making a meal, etc. I see anything from spinal cord injuries to strokes to knee replacements. Being attached to the trauma center, we also get alot of people who are VERY banged up. It's always interesting, to say the least.

In my free time I ALSO work too much - I help out at the little hospital in Sanford on some weekends, I do some freelance writing, I play games on the XBox 360 arcade (told ya I'm a geek!), I like to do scrapbooking, I bowl, I run, I do yoga, and I love home improvement projects. In fact, we are about to go and paint the rest of the living room right now.

I also drink alot on cruises, but that shouldn't be too much of a shocker

OK for our stats:

I am 33. I went to college for Nursing (RN) and completed all but one class before I decided it wasn't the career for me. I took a fall back job as a clerk at the Post Office, and next thing you know I've been there 12 years. I've done all kinds of different things there including payroll, data tech, quality control, revenue protection, supervision, admin, etc. Right now I'm just a manual distribution clerk (read: throw letters) cause that's what works for me as far as hours and days off go. Its pretty boring work but I spend it listening to disney podcasts so it's not too bad (besides it pays well with great benefits)

DH is also 33. We were high school sweethearts and have been together 17 years! He also worked at the PO for a while and then he ventured into the medical profession. He has been an X-ray tech now for about 7 years and works at a high volume orthopedic office. He was currently promoted to head of the X-ray department and is cross training in clinical (casting, etc.) and hopes to soon be trained as a surgical assistant. He works days and I work nights so we need minimal child care.

We have 2 children, DS Brendan is 7. He enjoys playing baseball and football and also takes gymnastics whenever his schedule permits. He likes reading Captain Underpants books and watching SpongeBob. DD Savannah is 6. Our little princess is beginning her third year of dance and acrobatics. She is also a cheerleader during football season and somehow we squeeze gymnastics in there too. They stay quite busy to say the least!!!

Other than our shared love for all things Disney, we enjoy going to Buccaneers and Devil Rays games and concerts whenever we get the opportunity (The Police next week! Woo Hoo!) We never miss Jimmy Buffett, DMB or The Barenaked Ladies. Although we love theme parks and are very grateful to be lucky enough to live so close to the best ones in the world, the only annual pass we have is to Adventure Island Tampa (we call it our "beach"). We go to Disney once a year and make a big deal about it when we do, which makes it very special for the kids. Our first Disney Cruise was in March and we look forward to exploring the Carribbean on our very favorite ship in the years to come!

Now that you've read my life story, I look forward to hearing more about everyone else!!

Erik, my thoughts are with you. I have worried about you the past few days, and though you are understandibly grieving, it was nice to hear from you again.

Late dining--we have lots of kids and LOVE late dining. We'd prefer the kids to be awake for the shows more than dinner. There were many nights they didn't make it through dinner (too tired, too cranky) and we just put them in the kids club, where they stayed until I picked them up at midnight. That way hubby and I got a quiet dinner and dancing or a movie afterward. I had to beg for late seating on the WB TransAtlantic. They were full! I nearly passed out!

They serve dinner at kids club at 5:30 ish, so the kids ate there sometimes(kinda like it was snack time) and were hungry again by dinner--and hey, who cares if they finish dinner anyway?

I usually had some afternoon goody, as well, and would not have been hungry at 6:00. I needed the shows to sit and "develop a little room in my tummy" in order to be able to enjoy dinner.

If you really want early, get on the waiting list and then call everyday. They'll give it to you.

Right now we're booked for early dinner seating, but will most likely switch to late. If there's a way to give you our early spot if and when we make the change, and if you don't decide you'd prefer late after all, then maybe we can do that?

As for jobs, I am a nurse, graduated last May and work on a Med/Surg floor, night shift, Dh is a supervisor at Marshall's Distrubtion center, but we met while working for Thrift Drug 11 years ago

We loveloveLOVE late seating! We had it on our last cruise and would not choose early for anything. Our kids are 6 & 7. There were plenty of other kids and we definetly were not rushed out. In fact I think we were the last people to leave AP!

One thing we were wondering: on our cruise (which was capacity) we noticed that there did not seem to be any large tables or groups seated together. Most families were seated alone, or at least appeared to be. There were lots of tables of just couples or families of 3. For instance were were at a 7-seat table all alone (4 of us). I wonder if that is something they do on the 3 & 4 night cruises but on the 7's if they still seat groups together. It seems as if they do from the TR's I read. Anyone know for sure if they do that?

There is a small possibility that my parents may not be able to go with us.

Here's my situation. Right now we have 2 connecting cat 6 rooms. When making the reservations I put one of my kids in my parents room since we have 3. Otherwise I would have to have a cat 4 room. Well, one Cat 4 room is still more than 2 cat 9 rooms. I don't want to be stuck if they decide really close to the cruise that they can't go, SO I am switching our reservations to 2 connecting cat 9 rooms.

There are only 4 sets of connecting rooms left. In your opinions which ones would be best. The passporter says not to stay in 3 sets of them, but I don't have a lot of choices. The DIS stateroom reports don't have all of them.

Here they are:
2530&2532 (pretty far forward, under Upbeat/Radar Trap)
2138&2140 (pretty far aft, under Parrot Cay)
2638&2640 (pretty far aft, under Parrot Cay)
2146&2148 (very far aft, under Parrot Cay)

What do you all think? my TA is calling me back in the AM so some quick help would be appreciated.

Which ones does the Passporter say no to? I would think it would be noisiest in the first set in the evenings, but I've also never stayed on deck 2 so I have no idea. I'm staying on deck 2 this October for a 3-day, but that doesn't really help you much at all. Sorry I'm not more help!

I posted on the main forum and already got a few replies. I am probably going to go with 2530 & 2532. I think it will be fine.

My parents are still trying to go so we will leave them on the reservations for now.

At least by changing rooms now, I won't be in a mad scramble if they cancel next year sometime.

Plus we are saving almost $800 each room by going from cat 6 to cat 9.
