Someone on the DCL forum pointed me towards the "7 day Costa Maya" choice in the cruise search, so I was able to compare prices. I reserved a Cat 5 and a Cat 11 on Deck 7, but now I have to convince the hubby to let me keep both cruises in 2008. *crossing my fingers*

Wish me luck!

Ok all, I did it. Today I actually started my countdown to sail date on my white board at work. :hippie: This is my way dealing with all the other stuff that happens at work......

Oh I hear ya! I have a big dry-erase 3-month calendar on my cubie wall. I have written at the bottom "Disney Cruise - 15 months, 2 weeks"...so once a week I get the joy of erasing another week away! I also have significant milestone days on the calendar with a sad-excuse-of-a-drawing of the ship beside it. Just last week someone saw that picture with the numbers 425. She thought the ship was a birthday cake with candles on top!!!! :rotfl2: She asked if July 5 was my birthday, because she didn't think it was. OF COURSE I had to tell her that was my countdown...she just rolled her eyes. That's why I have YOU GUYS to understand me!

I love it that you just look past the shoulder to be reminded that you will have an escape from the "blah blah blah" soon!

This is off topic, but did anyone end up making buckeyes this weekend???

We compromised and made muddy buddies which are peanutbuttery adn chocolatey but not quite as horrible for you as buck eyes (still need that crowd to justify buck eyes)

Sending good vibes to ya, Brandie! :goodvibes

We're a good bunch of DISers!! Of course I'm a little bias, but really...we would LOVE to have you with us!!

:lmao: I was thinking about that question yesterday myself, but didn't want to envoke my bias on the board! LOL

You still had the spirit though, Hadley! Buckeye candies really are time consuming. Did you enjoy them anyways?

That is the same response I got from my boss when he was asking me what the three numbers are on my white board.

ONE DISNEY CRUISE
TWO GRADUATION DAY WITH MASTERS
Three the number of pounds that I need to lose before the cruise.
(I know, I know, the last is not a realistic goal but hey,,,,I do not have a fairy god mother):genie:

Did I enjoy them???? What's not to enjoy--peanut butter, chocolate, butter, powdered surag and cripy cereal. How could I go wrong:love:
MUST think pink Barbie dress!

Hey All,

I hope everyone is doing well. We are having a nice streak of weather for a change (hot, but I can deal with it) so I have been trying to enjoy the deck as much as possible with a few of these thrown in :drinking1 for good measure)!

Hadley-Have a wonderful time with your sister tomorrow! I didn't make buckeyes, but I do have the stuff for Puppy Chow on hand and it is tempting to go make a batch up now!
Jen- We have gotten mice in our garage before as well. They were going crazy for our birdseed and duck corn. Nothing a few traps couldn't fix (thank god)!
Brandie I don't know either. I booked through Dreams and even though their price was the same as DCL direct we got a nice stateroom credit:goodvibes I hope you can convince you DH to let you do both cruises.
Stargater Not that I want to think about how far away it is, but how many days away are we?
Kimberly I saw that thread earlier today. I have really started to think about my FE..in fact today I stopped over at Hancock Fabrics on my lunch break to check out fabric for the project.

:thumbsup2 So many things to do and so little time! :hourglass

I have been on ebay lately. I found a matching tux vest and bow tie set, that both DH and DS love and are willing to wear on Formal Night. :woohoo: Both came in the mail today and they tried them on! They are black with Mickey playing the gutar and running across a keyboard! Very cute and they will look great! One more item off my list! The work on my FE has come to a screeching halt because my embroidery machine is in the shop for 2 weeks.

Now I'm going to focus my attention on Pirate costumes and what DD and myself will be wearing on Formal Night. Can we move September 08 up a little! I want to go now!

Bippity,

Boo!

There...did it work?

Sorry to hear about the embroidery machine....at least when you get it back it won't be so frustrating and sleeping alone on the couch. ;)

Kim, thanks for the link! Great ideas......I'll have to start peeking around at some stuff soon. :goodvibes

There ARE so many things to do! I don't know if I'll get it all done in time.....door signs, fish extenders, goodies to pass out........at least all of the "work" will make the next 15 months fly by! :thumbsup2

It's Friday eve, everyone!

Well, I don't think it made Sept. 08 any closer, but I feel better! :thumbsup2

The machine's computer went kaput (I think that's how you spell it). At least it was under warranty! :cool1:

Thing's will be better when it's home and humming again. I just ordered some Disney Cruise Line embroidery designs and am dying to try them out.

Perhaps I can take this time to try those yummy sounding Buckeyes. I have a year to lose that extra weight - right!:rotfl: :lmao:

I'm still not sure exactly how to make the door signs. I think I saw a link to it somewhere - does anyone have some advice on this?

There are a few links here. What I did was get a sheet magnet at Michaels or Office Depot and then I decorated it with Scrapbooking items and then I also to a pic of a movie and then changed the words. for instance the part where the shark in nemo says "We're having fish tonight....I changed the words to be, "We're having PALO tonight!" It was very cute....sad to say it got taken the last day :(

Yes....you raise a good point....there is no "right" way to make your door signs except that they MUST BE MAGNETIC!!! PLEASE DO NOT BE ONE THOSE INCONSIDERATE PEOPLE WHO PUTS TAPE, STICKERS, AND EVEN GLUE ON YOUR DOORS!!! :headache:  It ruins the paint, makes the room stewards' and maintenance staff's jobs harder....and just puts DCL in a very grouchy and NON-Magical mood. ;) Other than that....be as creative as you like. For this past cruise Jason and I made all signs that were kind of crafty with buttons and scrapbook things and pictures and ribbons. Chris and Rob had an AWESOME collection of magnets, one for each day, that they incorporated Disney characters and scenes from the ports.

And, yes, magnets do sometimes disappear. So also don't bring any magnets that you are EXTREMELY attached to and will be crushed if you lose them. One way to try to insure your magnets DON'T walk away is to personalize them. Jason and I put our picture and/or our names on every magnet and door sign.

Door signs and fish extenders go hand in hand...they make the outside of your room so festive! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Exactly as Erik said--Rob and I also personalized our magnets with our pictures somewhere on it, and also our names somewhere in or under it. That way it is LESS likely to disappear, although it's possible someone would want a door magnet that says Chris and Rob with our pictures on it. Possible, but less likely.

You can get the magnet sheets at Wal Mart for about 7 or 8 dollars. Look for it in the printer paper section, where they have all the additional printer papers for like, business cards, greeting cards, etc.

I might want a magnet with you on it:rotfl:

I found the sheets at our dollar store! I went back for more a week later and they were long gone. But, the cashier told me they get them periodically. So, now I always swing by that aisle if I am in there for some other reason. So, that is another palce to check if you want to save cash for important stuff like Konk Koolers.
