Hi Stacy. I booked on board for me and Diane. Cat 9 on deck 2 with a porthole for the 9/27/08 cruise. There were no secret porthole rooms left in cat 10 so I booked 9.
Having a great time in our cat 7.

I have an alcohol question (you all seem open to that sort of stuff) .

We cruised last Dec (non-DCL ) and I bought a bottle of liquor while on the ship. It had been 30 years since I bought any of the hard stuff, so I guessed. I saw Bacardi 151 rum, looked pretty good, so I bought it. Yuck. I did not like it at all and do not want to repeat that mistake.

We are going on another cruise this Dec (non-DCL again ). I want to buy something good, any suggestions? I like rum, tequilla, that sort of liquor, if that helps. Anything not too sweet. Thanks!

I have not been a big drinker ever since the kids were born. Something about getting up in the middle of the night to tend to a little one. . . But, now they are older (sort of). Soooo, I've been stopping by the ABC store buying the little (airplane) size bottles of various "stuff" to get ready for our Oct 3 day and found that I love Coconut Rum!!! Yum Yum!

But, there are others here that can give you better advice than me.

What about Malibu.. my mom too isnt a drinker but she will occasionally have that with some pinapple juice its pretty mellow to me And Im not a liquir girl more of a beer wench LOL

Eric- email is on its way... right after I feed the boys.. seems the hamburger they ate an hour ago wasnt enough... they are going to love the cruise and so am I as they are eatting me out of house and home!

Muushka - Lionel and I have been "sampling" recently, and we decided just to bring a bottle of vodka on our upcoming 3-nighter to try it out. We're also bringing Irish Creme and a pre-mixed drink. I'll let you know how it works as a versatile beverage!

Last year one of our cruise-mates brought Absolut Citron and she said it was great. We thought about the Vanilla, but found it a little too sweet for more than one or two drinks.

Not that we drink that much....

Thanks! Irish Cream is way too sweet for me (I have to be careful with sugar). Was the Absolut Citron sweet? Citrus flavor? Yes, let me know how it all, um, goes down!

Hard stuff?? That's putting it mildly. I gave it to my MIL last week for her occasional frozen drink. She liked it!

Malibu is coconut rum...........mixed with diet coke it is awesome! rkandmjsmommy got me hooked on that ! That will definitely be a staple in our room!

PS besides, the CC board needs the enthusiasm that the DIS boards have! On my roll call for the Dec cruise (on Celebrity), I told that thread that we were LAME compared to this one!

CC= Cruise Critic. Great website for cruise information. Just not quite as enthusiastic as we are!
