I think we're going to do the Chacchoben Ruins tour at Costa Maya (not through DCL, but I think their names are David and Ivan, Native Tours or something like that), and the Stingrays at Castaway Cay.

Well, I haven't quite gotten THAT far, however....

Last week, I DVR'd "our friend", Samantha Brown, from The Travel Channel. She had an episode of "Great Cruises" on that included Cozumel excursions. She went to Chankanaab National Park to play with the dolphins. That was very cool! It wasn't something I was necessarily considering, but once again, The Travel Channel did their job well!! So it's on my list of things I would like to do!

We're looking at doing ruins in Costa Maya...either the Chaccohoben or the Kohunlich. I am also interested in the all-terrain truck expedition but the passporter doesn't mention it going to or by any ruins. I'm just going by my passporter, I haven't even looked thoroughly at the DCL site yet, so I don't know if any of these have changed or even still available. Everything seems to meet between 10 am-2 pm so it doesn't appear we can double-excurse. (hmm...if that's a word)

In Cozumel we will be doing the Margaritaville excursion.

What? That's not an official excursion? Heh.

Well, we'll definetly be going there. For those who haven't seen, it is the newest in the chain:

I'm sure some of you ..umm...partiers...might want to join us. (You know who you are!!! )

We will probably do a regular excursion too. I've heard great thinks about Chankanaab..but we just did the dolphin excursion @ Nassau...they have other things there, though...Sea Lions and snorkeling. We are also considering the Fury Catamaran thing, or the Xcaret Eco Park. DH does not want to even narrow it down yet, he thinks there will be much more available as we get closer to sail.

I would be happy to hear recommendations...I'm sure many who have already been to Cozumel on the western have opinions!


Oh and on a side note, I just wanted to let everyone know I have been working on a logo graphic for us. I think the "Double Dip Delight" name has to stick, and I have been gathering clip art. I made a rough draft in Paint Shop Pro but it sucked so that means in order to do the layering like I want I will have to tackle photoshop. As it is right now, it has a "pirate map" scroll background, a skeleton with mickey ears on and two scoops of vanilla ice cream! I am trying to get the ice cream layer transparent over (or under) the skeleton. So if anyone has any creative ideas, give a shout out!!

We have been to Margaritaville at Univerasal, LOVE IT and we have a Cheeseburger in Paradise near us, VERY YUMMY!!!! Jen, the shirts sound AWESOME, my kids are HUGE Pirate fans so they will go over real well.

Erika: I saw Samantha Brown do the Dolphin excursion, it was so cool, unfortunately my whole family wants nothing to do with anything pertaining to the cruise because its so far away and they get depressed thinking about it. I on the other hand could talk about it all day!!!!

My parents are repositioning right now - it is killing me to know they are doing what I love (they are not even Disney fans like me) without me I hope they are having a good time. I hear the ship is rocking but have not heard from them yet. Makes me long for this cruise all the more.

I just posted to the live Med trip report that if the OP sees my friends (and they are VERY hard to miss) to tell them Clive is well but I'm still mad at them for going without us.

So envious - I hope they are having fun. I have nothing to do but make sure their house is still there when they get back. This is my Mom's reward - she is our family "nanny" and watches my kids while I am at work!! We sent her on vacation!

We did the David & Ivan tour last double dip (9/2006), it was a wonderful. We really enjoyed it.

I'm happy to hear that, thank you! Do you think it would be suitable for an active 5 year old, almost 6? I'd like to take DD along. We homeschool and I think it would be good for her to see, although a little beyond her age level. I wouldn't want to do it if it were totally inappropriate for that age group though.
