my daughter alex is now at the ripe old age of a 8 an auntie for the second time (makes me a grandma at the age of 42) her half sister had a bouncing baby boy this morning (she already has a beautiful 2 year old girl) WONDER how old they have to be before she will let me steal them to go disneying. lets hope for 2009 for my josey girl, maybe i can hide her in my suitcase and bring her with us next year. i love being a grandma, especially since its not my daughter so i can't be old right!

It's a good day when I actually get to *do* something in preparation for our cruise - today I booked our hotel for Friday night!

It *IS* a good day when you get to do that!! I know I was thrilled when I made my reservations! I've noted you in the database as staying there, too. You're not the only one staying there either.

...My Dad has fried turkeys before, so I will just have faith that he knows what he's doing. But it did make me nervous to see Alton's big fireball demonstration of the turkey done WRONG!

Sounds yummy! I've always wanted to try fried turkey. I'm sure your dad knows all about the safety rules, so all will be good!

I cooked a turkey on Sunday in my Nesco roaster. I had two turkeys in the freezer, and figured I better make one so I can pick up another during these weeks of turkey sales! This time, I injected it with Chef William's Cajun Injector Creole Butter Marinade. Let me just say O - M - G is it good!!!

Hadley, I think I read your question wrong. I think all text next to a picture box currently defaults to starting at the bottom right corner of the picture to start. I was just thinking of not having carriage returns at the end of each line, not starting to list text at the top right corner of the picture. Sorry about that.

I was just thinking of not having carriage returns at the end of each line, not starting to list text at the top right corner of the picture. Sorry about that.

Thanks for posting that. Now I don't feel quite so dippy for not understanding your previous post By the by, I could get the one line of type at the very bottom or very top of the photo's edge, but could not get line by line. So, in the end I have settled for the almost as good option of putting the bouncing turkey beside the photo so nothing is cut off now.

Okay...I TRY not to complain about people, but I just have to say how much I love you guys and the Cruise Board!! Just allow me to get this one off my chest.

I've been lurking on the Budget Boards in the past few weeks (Crissi knows...she's run across me!). There's a great thread that is started up every week where people can post "Freebies of the Week" that they learn about. I've even posted a few good ones that I've come across. Well this past week, I found the "Freaps Chat" thread, which apparently was established as an extension of the "Freebies of the Week" thread. This is where people could chit chat about freebies or what's going on in their life so the "Freebies" thread would be mostly that....posts of freebies. So in the past couple of days, I subscribed to "Freaps Chat" thinking it might be interesting and a place to learn some unknowns.

Seriously, I have NO plans to ever return there. The Moderator was doing her job, which is to ensure everyone plays nicely, thinks about others, and adheres to the guidelines of the Boards. God love her, because they're making it SO difficult on her and her role, not to mention, IMHO (emphasize MY) not thinking about compromise whatsoever. My heart started racing because I hate unreasonable conflict so much and that's all I read for 3 pages!!! As a newbie, I'm neutral and have no bias whatsover, yet I'm appauled at how some cannot be more considerate and compromising. Nothing wrong with voicing an opinion. Just use it with good judgement and understand the Mod's role isn't easy!!

Sorry guys I have been busy with work and kids etc,... and E is leaving Weds to make a trip to Texas to see his parents and is taking the boys. So I have been getting them all packed and ready. I cant go cant take off of work.. DARN LOL. So I will be home alone AHHHHHHHHH... piece and quiet.

Next up is I have been chatting with a friend that has been asking about this cruise (well a disney cruise) so I gave her all the info on where to look, this site quotes etc... and today she emailed me saying she booked for our exact cruise WOOHOO so thats 4more.. I wont kill her intro as I know she will be around soon, but its seems so cool to be able to go on a vacation with friends and our boys all know eachother and get along well so they will all have eachother too, and E and her dh will have a drinking buddy and not need a DD.

once the boys leave Ill play some catch up and post some pics of all the madness stuff I have gotten so far with still 10months to go pre cruise LOL

You are sooooooooooo right about that thread. I was checking out the "Freebies of the Week" and saw the "Freaps Chat" thread and headed over there to check it out. I could not believe what I was reading. They were actually attacking the moderator and she was merely doing her job. I think I'll stay away from the "nasties" over there as well. I did get my box of Dale and Thomas' popcorn yesterday........I haven't tried it yet since I am probably splitting it up for Chrismas gifts. I had ordered the 2 free bags as sampled and I am waiting for that to come! That is ALL mine ! Ok, I might share some with the family if they are really nice to me!

Anyway, I have a few of the $20 gift cards sent to other emails so now I am just waiting for another free shipping or % off coupon code like you!

I just don't understand why people find the need to be so rude!

Welcome to the DIS and our thread. Janet and I are in 2560. This is right by the midship elevator. We were in 2060 last cruise and had no problems with noice so you should be fine with the elevators. I have heard some folks complain about being able to detect the music if they were directly under the bar. I have never had a bad room yet. Lois

We're wathcing the Cathy Rigsby Peter Pan which was released last week. It finally arrived from Amazon.com today. Peter Pan is the next local theatrical production (and a pricey one $5000 for royalty fees and $7000 for the rigging company--YIKES how we will possibly break even on this?!?!). Having seen most of the musical now, Rio still wants to be Michael (1st choice), a twin (second choice) or if nothing else ANY lost boy at all. Marika is realizing that she does not have the dance background for Tiger Lily, but is still hoping some of the other Natives will be cast as girls (she has long, dark hair and darker skin--very good look for that part) but will also take anything they throw her way. This is such a FUN script!

You have a great friend there! I'm glad she recruited ya...kicking and screaming, I'm sure! I'm going to assume that your boys will be 10 and 6 at the time of the cruise. If that's true, your oldest prince will find six other 10 yr old buddies (and one other DKid10 of unknown gender), and your little guy will likely run into nine pals his age (and 3 other DKids of unknown gender)!! There are also 5 families from sunny California (you and Drea are 2 of them). Oh...and you asked about Deck 2. There are at least 10 additional families joining you on Deck 2.

If you haven't already gotten the scoop from Drea, let me suggest that you check out Post 577 (link in my signature) to see if there's anything else listed there that you would like to share about yourselves. There's a website currently under development, and the information you give me will get posted up there!

Post 577 is also a good "go-to" thread to see what kind of activites we've been talking about. If you have other suggestions, please share!!! For some of the activities that may make you say "Hmmm...what is that?!", I tried to add links to other posts that discuss it. Certainly ask if there's anything you want to know more about. This post also has info about locating our cruise logo so you can use it for door magnets, your siggy, or whatever you choose.

I did indeed get to see Duff Goldman from Charm City Cakes in Baltimore as well as his FoodNework show, Ace of Cakes. The autograph lines were INSANE!!! You literally had to line up at least 1.5 hours before their scheduled time to even have a chance to get an autograph. I did not get to stand in line for Duff and Geoff's (his sidekick) autograph. However, I did have tickets for his demo. I was terribly disappointed. All the two did was roll out fondant, covered 4 small round cakes (with little commentary related to decorating), and selected people from the audience to pipe their name on one of the cakes. Duff then went back and added whatever the 4 audience members wanted him to pipe on their cake. The rest of the time was Q&A. There certainly were some humorous moments, however. It was obvious that they didn't really take the time to plan anything. However, that TOTALLY seems to fit his personality!

I did get to shake hands with Alton Brown, however. What a very kind man. He reached out to shake everyone's hand as they approached him for autographs and introduced himself saying "Hi. I'm Alton." He was so pleasant!

OMG you got to meet 2 of my favorite guys! I love them both! And I will say Giada is cute! darn her LOL Can cook and look great! How fun! A Duff cartoon would be awesome!

Tonya I knew it wouldnt take long for you to come on over to the dark side lol I told mom's you were going and she was excited too and she's not even going LOL were dorks like that!

Kimberly, I agree life is too short to argue with strangers about opinions - everyone has one, right? I try to stay away from argumentative threads! I have expressed an unpopular opinion a couple of times on other threads and you should see the claws come out! (Believe me it wasn't even about politically correct ) I usually just don't go back.

Muushka, I'm glad you felt welcome over here. I have a group of control freaks that have become good friends, and I check in on the SSR lovers thread sometimes - although every once in awhile a VWL lover breaks in and give us a hard time! Just kidding!
