"Double Dip Delight" 09.27.2008 - Take 3!

So I hear DCL has come out with some FL Resident Rates for 7 night cruises....(first time in over a year)...Of *COURSE* not our cruise
Oct. 11, Oct. 25 & Nov. 1.
I'm kind of suprised we didn't get one, actually. There have been many cabins in all categories available on our cruise for quite a while now. Plus you'd think there would be slightly less demand since Sept. is still prime hurricane season. It's winding down in late Oct/early Nov. AND...since when is there not high demand for Halloween cruises????
We could have gotten a 4 for $600 less than we paid for our 8 & 11...and could have saved almost $1,000 if we had a 7 & 11 and these rates were offered for our dates.

I'm not too excited with the dry dock plans. Basically just catching up to what the Wonder did two years ago. Meh. The TV's sound nice though.

No...new 22" flat screens in the staterooms are the biggy.

Everything else mentioned was done to the Wonder in 2006....teak deck chairs w/padding in QC, new seating in Cove Cafe, waterfalls from the hot tubs in QC, and the splash zone for the swim-diaper clad crew is it.

Hopefully there will be some suprises.....

Alright everyone....

So here's the deal----due to some recent cruise cancellations/changes I HAVE EXACTLY EIGHT LEFTOVER LANYARDS.

I know that there are a handful of people who have joined our boards in the last couple months who were not able to get on the lanyard list....and so I thought I'd try to find owners for these lanyards. I wasn't sure what the fairest way to do this is actually....but then I figured the whole original point of the lanyards was to help those of us who are really active on the DISboards to recognize each other aboard.....so I figured I'd just post it here and let the chips fall where they may....that way someone who is active on the boards is most likely to benefit.....so here goes:

If you are a more recent addition to our cruise and you were NOT able to get in on the lanyard list in time but would like lanyards for yourself and/or the members of your traveling party...PLEASE PM ME ASAP! In your PM please indicate:
1.) how many lanyards your group wants/needs,
2.) the first names of everyone in your party,
3.) the DIS name you want on the tags and
4.) the primary stateroom # of your traveling party

As I said above, I have only 8 lanyards left so I will distribute them on a first come first serve basis based on when you send your PM's. Once these 8 are gone...then that's all folks (sorry!!)

Hey..its Jenn! Not sure if you even remember me as I have been a complete slacker and havent been on here forever. I am trying to get a message to Tig about the lanyards but its saying I havent posted enough to send a private message like that so I am not sure how any of this works!
We are still going and our kids Brianna (10) and Trent (6) still are as clueless as ever about it all. I must admit that I am in a panic and its my own fault as the cruise is getting closer and I feel just as ill-prepared as I was the day I booked it. I did do my online checkin and get the kids signed up and registered for their clubs. I apologize if I am overwhelming you as I have no one to blame but myself for doing all of this last minute. I have 2 jobs so my life is sooo busy! lol.. I need the vacation more than my family does!

Oh more fairy talk! I love it!

Something tells me that even if the Tag Fairy WAS paying attention to me, they probably wouldn't put a quote beneath my name alluding to my being a fairy since they might be concerned about offending me (or others) even though I made the remark myself. So I guess I shall never have such a tag....

.....I'll have to just be happy with my fairy magnet!

Jason and I did lots of cruise projects this weekend...actually we're done with everything except the packing (which we have officially started....putting things in our suitcases that we won't need before the trip...and besides we have only 16 days and 5 hours until we we leave!! YEAH!!!). Anyhow...we finally finished all the lanyards. (Everyone keeps thanking me for all my work in coordinating and designing and printing and ordering...and Hadley for all her legwork compiling lists and everything....but Jason deserves a big round of applause because I made him do the REALLY hard work....I printed the name badges three to a sheet and I made him sit and cut out all 300 of them so we could stuff them into their individual badge holders!). In addition to finishing up all the lanyards finally, I made the message center boards and we finished all our door magnets and our secret mickey gifts.

Our door magnets are quite fun...everyone will have to stop by our room daily to see! You scrappers will like many of ours because we tend not to just print something out of the computer...we actually arts and craft constructed most of our magnets using actual photos, scrapbooking paper, Disney decals, etc. We have a good 8 or 10 general magnets (including our official "disney fairies" magnet ) and then one themed for each day!

I also finished our sewing projects this weekend...I finished our halloween costumes for the MNSSHP and also made two new Disney ties (one little mermaid and one disney princesses) for us to wear to dinner....and I made us matching bowtie and cumberbund sets out of 101 Dalmations fabric for formal night!

So creative with the magnets, ties and everything too. I can't wait to check them out. A big thank you to you, Jason, Hadley, & Drea (didn't help to Drea? or was that something else?) for the hard work.

Hey all you other 90's kids, you know the NKOTB cd came out today right....

It all started with finding a gal that is getting married on a Dis Cruise. That I found from the main board. That lead to following another and another. I am subscribing to 4 now. ONE that has gotten married, one that is getting married on a cruise, and 2 that are still planning, 1 of which will be getting married when we get off OUR cruise on the 4th.

Told E thats it we should do this, (as in I was thinking Vow renual) he said WHY.... well arent you the romantic type. I told him cuz its cute and all that girly stuff.. I got another oh so romantic answer, why spend all that money were all ready married....... so I said... "I didnt say I was marrying you AGAIN" LMAO

I want to do an 80's night.. how fun!! I wouldn't dress up though. Need extra room for other stuff Drea how funny you are talking about the wedding. When I first booked the cruise I wanted to do this too! lol Maybe one day... If it wasn't my brothers wedding when we are in Hawaii, I would do this.. or have pics taken in a dress or something by the beach.. how fun!

Oh and Drea, I just might have to fly to SD so we can go to a concert.. LOL

ITs been a long summer and this is the first time in almost 10 years I will have the WHOLE day to myself, first stop GYM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Off topic, my husband just got a job offer today with the PD doing the bulldog tactic force.. I am scared. He will be dealing with gang members, drug busts, and probation, etc. He has been waiting for K-9. They are hiring soon. This is bad timing with the cruise and Hawaii though Hopefully it all works out.

First Class Blondie

A beautiful young blond woman boards a plane to LA with a ticket for the coach section. She looks at the seats in coach and then looks ahead to the first class seats. Seeing that the first class seats appear to be much larger and more comfortable, she moves forward to the last empty one. The flight attendant checks her ticket and tells the woman that her seat is in coach. The blond replies, "I'm young, blond and beautiful, and I'm going to sit here all the way to LA."
Flustered, the flight attendant goes to the cockpit and informs the captain of the blond problem. The captain goes back and tells the woman that her assigned seat is in coach.

Again, the blond replies, "I'm young, blond and beautiful, and I'm going to sit here all the way to LA."

The captain doesn't want to cause a commotion, and so returns to the cockpit to discuss the blond with the co-pilot. The co-pilot says that he has a blond girlfriend, and that he can take care of the problem. He then goes back and briefly whispers something into the blonde's ear.

She immediately gets up, says, "Thank you so much," hugs the co-pilot, and rushes back to her seat in the coach section. The pilot and flight attendant, who were watching with rapt attention, together ask the co-pilot what he had said to the woman.

He replies, "I just told her that the first class section isn't going to LA."

The kids and I were walking home from the bus stop today and nearly got ran over by the UPS truck. I was so excited to see it going down my street that I didn't care and ran after it to find it stopped in front of my neighbor's house. No Brown for me...no docs!
