We are from Worthington, Oh. Right smack in the middle of buckeye country...we are actually about 20 minutes away from the stadium..how about everyone else?

OH MY GOSH!!! I'm in Dublin and drive through Worthington almost every day on my way to work (depends on if I take I270 or Snouffer over to Rt. 23). There's also someone who doesn't post very much who lives in Hilliard.

BTW, I see you're up to 10 posts now! :goodvibes

We are in 1069! I didnt realize I had a UPS package delivered today!!!

OK....got it....your room number is on my list.

Now i'm only missing room number for the following one DIS user: doubledipbound. I sent him a PM but haven't heard anything back yet.

That's Brandie's TA, Greg, if I recall correctly.

Jenn15: We are in Medina, near Cleveland. Sorry no Buckeye fans in this house. ( Ask my son what nickname we gave Ohio St.):rolleyes1 good thing we dont follow college football too much, Dh went to U of M.

We were in the dollar store tonight and they had glow swords. so add those to the growing pile in my room. :)

Ok....5 of the 8 lanyards that were left are now spoken for....so are there any newly joined DISers with 3 or fewer people (or perhaps a larger party in which only 3 people really want lanyards and name badges?)?

Hey everyone....

for those of you who've done a 7-night (especially recently) or who are "more in the know"......

Is there a "tropical night" onboard? Or is the character breakfast tropical themed? On the TransAtlantic last year there was.....and I ask because for last year's cruise I made Jason and I matching tropical Mickey print "hawaiian" shirts----but if we won't have an occasion or event to wear them on this trip then we won't bring them (I'm trying to save every spare inch in our bags!!:rotfl2: )

Got my cruise docs tonight, but not my travelling companions. Pfishgirl check with your Mom to see if she got her docs delivered to her house.

::yes:: Mom got her docs today.. So did our friends.. The only one who didn't get Docs are US :guilty:

Yes, the character breakfast is Tropical themed as well..

Umm at least it was in December...

the breakfast last year was Mickeys Island Jam. it was in PC. I am not sure how much it changed from last year. ( last year the characters just danced, this year they greet each table.) I have a Hawaiin shirt for dh and son for this breakfast.

Stacy: is your mom on Deck 8 also? it seems like none of us from Deck 8 have our documents, maybe the best for last. rofl.

Off topic, my husband just got a job offer today with the PD doing the bulldog tactic force.. I am scared.:scared1: He will be dealing with gang members, drug busts, and probation, etc. He has been waiting for K-9. They are hiring soon. This is bad timing with the cruise and Hawaii though :sad2: Hopefully it all works out.
Tonya

Congrats to your DH on the offer, Tonya! My DH is ex-K9. Its been over 10 yrs, but I still remember the anxiety on my part when he would go off to work. I believe he dealt w/all the stuff you mentioned, but things have changed a great deal here since he's been on the force & not for the better as far as criminal activity goes. :sad2: Especially true for the gangs. Even though I'm not thrilled w/his current job (not family friendly at all), I'm glad he doesn't have to put on a bullet-proof vest to go to work.

I do hope things work out for his offer. Good luck!

OK...well perhaps we will bring our shirts for the breakfast then....we love dressing as a matching pair and we love themes! (hence the ties, etc)

Tonya ~ It will work out with your husband......try not to worry.....

Where in HI are you going? Lucky girl.......My DH wants to go to Pearl Harbor and Wickham Field for his retirement gift! Doesn't want much....does he.:lmao: :lmao:

Charlie ~ Good blonde joke....:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Jeninpa and I took the kids to our high school pep rally tonight. They introduced all the teams and we each caught school t-shirts they threw into the crowd. Hard for me to believe my "baby grandson" is in 8th grade and playing football.......tomorrow night is his first game of the season.......GO WILDCATS!

The invitations are awesome! Very, very cute...you're talented!

Thanks, Heather! You're too sweet.

We completed day 2 of our homeschool year today :goodvibes It feels so strange to say "Ok, it's time to sit down at the table for some work"...but it's going well.

Although, Reese really, really hates to write, color, cut, etc. His fine motor skills are OK, but he'd rather do more physical things. So, each day I have printed out his name in dotted lines to trace, because I really, really want him to work on signing his name!

Our first day, yesterday, we sit down, he writes the R,E,E and then says "I don't like Kindegarten. I'm done."

Uh, no sweetheart. We're less than 60 seconds into our 14 year homeschool journey, you can't quit yet! :lmao:

Today went much better, and he was very proud to show Daddy what we did for phonics. I'm still debating whether or not I want to bring anything onboard or not. Any homeschoolers here....are you bringing anything? I know some schoolers are bringing assignments from teachers...

I was thinking I'd just leave our phonics work at home, & have Reese dictate some journal entries to me about each day. Then I could put it all on the blog & it would do double duty!

ROTFL!!! Have you thought about doing unit studies with him?? That's what I used when my guys were younger. Worked wonderfully. We are very eclectic and relaxed homeschoolers (but we are not un-schoolers), and we've never really had the 'school schedule' in our world. We do school all over the place and in many, many different ways.

We're not taking school with us. I don't want to deal with books (remember, I have 3 kids, though) or lessons for that week. It's my week off, too!!! We will talk about where we are and what we're doing, and they will learn. I will probably take some time to work on reading with my 3 year old, but the other 2 won't have anything 'organized' for the trip.

Just finished this project:

September018.jpg

I hope you'll all stop by & put a star sticker on your state! When we get home, we'll graph the results :goodvibes

Of course, there's some trimming left to do & we'll laminate it. It should just about cover the length of the door!

AWESOME, Heather!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love it. I can't wait to come by and put a sticker on Georgia (if it's still here after Hanna...).

Stacy ~ What does it mean that you got booed? From who and how???:confused3

It's a cute little "surprise" that someone starts every Holiday.. It goes through the PM system.. Someone PM's you and you just add it to your signature...

For those of you who want to dress up for 80's night without using up a lot of room in your suitcase: I just ordered some t-shirts for DH and myself from www.80stees.com. They have some really cute ones!
