There is the Washington vs. Dallas football game (at 4pm I think). That is a huge rivalry around here and those games are usually fun to watch. Nothing gets more sports coverage in Washington than a Redskins/Cowboys football game!

:

The Eagles/Dallas and Eagles/Giants also get TONS of coverage, you know we Philadelphians DID boo Santa Claus or so everyone is america believes:scared1:

Happy Saturday!

All this football talk had me thinking... Isnt Sunday our day at CC?

I wonder if the bars on the beach have tvs.

my bil works for a toy company and last night was their preview sale, they had pirate costumes probably size 3t for $1.00. I wish ds was small enough, I would have bought him one.

I was just telling Jeff that I was glad the Bears game wasn't on until the night...otherwise, Reese & I would be at CC alone while Daddy watched the game :)

Same with Dh, he said he didnt mind having to be back onboard around 2:30 since he could watch the second half, when he foudn out it was an evening game he was VERY excited:cool1:

OHHHHH what a great store to have! I love picking up gifts in shops like your because A) they support the local merchant and B) they always have the BEST gifts. Do you guys have a web site?

First - thanks for supporting local merchants. Second - we have a website that is in desperate need of an update, which is my summer project. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post a website that's not Disney related, so if you want, I can PM you with it.

To everyone else - so much going on...

First: We don't watch football - but we'll offer our votes on which game to watch to the highest bidder (bidding can include massive quantities of Dirty Martinis and Frozen Margaritas on board :thumbsup2 )

Second: to all the injured and contagious - gosh - feel better to the twin who tore up their knee and the other who has pink eye (yikes - nightmare) - and anyone else I missed FEEL BETTER. Crissi - I hope your grandfather is recovering well.

I'm beginning to think we may all want to wear surgical masks and protective padding - it seems like everytime I check in someone's getting hurt or falling ill.

Finally - Have I told you all lately just how 'CITED I am to be going on this trip?!! Seriously - I'm like the little kid on the commercial, "I'm too excited to sleep!!" I don't think I'm going to sleep for 72 days!!

Hope you're all having a nice weekend.

I just talked to Crissichef, her grandfather passed away today:hug: He was truly and amazing man, and will be missed by all:) If you can keep her AMAZING family in your thoughts that would be Wonderful, Thanks!

Heres to PopPop :drinking1 Have a Caruso for all of us!

Diana:

you could wear Pirate clothes and then wear them on the cruise. Alot just had on Halloween type shirts. and then most did not have on any costumes.
When we arrived last year at 4pm, it was still 90degrees. so it could be even hotter this year. (We went in the middle of Oct last year).

Great idea. Jeninpa wanted the kids to wear costumes, but since it will be hot, I think we will just make us matching t-shirts with some type of BOO TO YOU design on them. We are keeping this a secret from the kids........they think the only thing extra than the cruise is going to the Rain Forest Cafe to eat.

One last question, is there a way to get to the MNSSHP from DTD other than driving? If I remember correctly, there is a lake there.....maybe boat transportation? I keep having flash backs of being lost on the highway for many hours in Oct.

Crissi and family, I'm so sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers as you celebrate your grandfather's life and learn to live life without his physical presence yet always in your heart.

Denise, I'm glad you are there for them.

Speaking of costumes, do any of you wear one to MNSSHP?

For me it is way too hot in September to dress up not to mention the fact I'm not a huge costume person. WE just usually do themed shirts. I had someone do these for me last year:

Oh heavens yes!!! The first and only time we have ever gone before we didn't know we were going. We were at WDW in September because Jason had a conference at the Grand Floridian and since we're annual pass holders anyway I decided to tag along and play while he was working and then we stayed through the weekend so we could play together.....well we didn't realize until we got there that we were going to be ther efor hte first MNSSHP of the season AND that it was a DVC discount night so we decided to get tickets...but hadn't planned ahead for costumes...so we just got our faces painted like animals.

THIS year, however, we're planning ahead!! I've already started working on updating my costume and making Jason's. I am going as Puck (a costume I've had for a few years but I'm updating and making some new pieces) and Jason is going as Nick Bottom. They are character's from teh play "A Midsummer Night's Dream"---Puck is the little elf/fairy creature who serves Oberon the king of the fairies and all-around creates mischief...and Nick Bottom is one of the human characters in the play...but is specifially the one that Puck casts a spell on so he has the head of a donkey (Jason will be going as donkey-headed Nick....:rotfl: )

Ok if it was not evidence enough earlier that my brain has been a little slow lately here is some more:upsidedow When I saw Puck the first thing I thought of was that guy that was on the Real World...I was thinking well that will be interesting to see and he has done if for a few years he must have it down. LOL then I read it is a character from "A Midsummer Night's Dream" have I mentioned I'm blonde

No..there is only a taxi form DTD directly to MNSSHP (which is held in the Magic Kingdom). If you really wanted to use Disney transportation have a few options:

1) you could take a resort bus from DTD to a resort and then take a Magic Kingdom bus from that Resort....or
2.) take a resort bus from DTD to the Poly, Contemporary or Grand Floridian. From any of those you could get the monorail....or from the Contemporary you can even walk to the Magic Kingdom actually.
3.) There MIGHT be (I can't actually remember) a bus that goes from DTD to the Transportation Center and you can catch the monorail from there I think.

There aren't usually any buses directly from DTD to the parks anymore because lots of people who were staying off property were parking for free at DTD and then getting on the buses to get to the parks which clogged up the limited parking at DTD & meant Disney was losing money....and Disney doesn't like that one bit! :lmao:

Yes Puck is one of my favorite literary characters and whenever I mention there's always someone who thinks I mean the guy from the Real World (who is far from being anyone's favorite anything since he was a gross, slovenly, reprehensible jerk! ;) )

I couldn't agree more and that is why I was so interested to see what you came up with if it was really him!

HA! I thought the exact same thing!!!!! Glad it was clarified since I'm not so well-versed in quality literature apparently :) tee he he
