For me it is way too hot in September to dress up not to mention the fact I'm not a huge costume person. WE just usually do themed shirts. I had someone do these for me last year:

After reading everyones comments, :chat: I have decided to make themed t-shirts for us. Great shirts by the way!

Oh heavens yes!!! The first and only time we have ever gone before we didn't know we were going. We were at WDW in September because Jason had a conference at the Grand Floridian and since we're annual pass holders anyway I decided to tag along and play while he was working and then we stayed through the weekend so we could play together.....well we didn't realize until we got there that we were going to be ther efor hte first MNSSHP of the season AND that it was a DVC discount night so we decided to get tickets...but hadn't planned ahead for costumes...so we just got our faces painted like animals.

THIS year, however, we're planning ahead!! I've already started working on updating my costume and making Jason's. I am going as Puck (a costume I've had for a few years but I'm updating and making some new pieces) and Jason is going as Nick Bottom. They are character's from teh play "A Midsummer Night's Dream"---Puck is the little elf/fairy creature who serves Oberon the king of the fairies and all-around creates mischief...and Nick Bottom is one of the human characters in the play...but is specifially the one that Puck casts a spell on so he has the head of a donkey (Jason will be going as donkey-headed Nick....:rotfl: )
You are sooooo creative. I'll be sure to watch for you. I can feel your energy :jumping1:

No..there is only a taxi form DTD directly to MNSSHP (which is held in the Magic Kingdom). If you really wanted to use Disney transportation have a few options:

1) you could take a resort bus from DTD to a resort and then take a Magic Kingdom bus from that Resort....or
2.) take a resort bus from DTD to the Poly, Contemporary or Grand Floridian. From any of those you could get the monorail....or from the Contemporary you can even walk to the Magic Kingdom actually.
3.) There MIGHT be (I can't actually remember) a bus that goes from DTD to the Transportation Center and you can catch the monorail from there I think.

There aren't usually any buses directly from DTD to the parks anymore because lots of people who were staying off property were parking for free at DTD and then getting on the buses to get to the parks which clogged up the limited parking at DTD & meant Disney was losing money....and Disney doesn't like that one bit! :lmao:

Well then ~~ it's a driving we will go :drive: this time with a map and directions:car:

Crissi:
So sorry to hear of your Grandfather's passing. Please know you & your family are in our prayers.

Crissi - I'm so sorry for your loss! My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family!

If any of you need a rental car from Enterprise I found a great deal. I reserved a full size car and it was only $38.56 for the day. I looked at some other sites and it was over $60. If you want to save 20% just use the code ETC7HC on their website

How many of us are going to the MNSSHP the night before the cruise? That is the one we're attending!:cool1:

Last year the kids wore Halloween themed t-shirts and I had my orange shirt and black shorts on. Not sure what we'll do this year - probably the same or similar. With all the baggage restrictions now if the kids do costumes they'll have to be pirate related to double for the party on the boat!

Does anyone know if they still have tickets for sale for this event? We'll be in WDW - and it happens to be my dd's birthday - we were going to do a fancy dinner, but I think she'd love the party.

I just CANNOT imagine, but just in case.....

Am I the only one who can't get onto DCL's website? I tried multiple times yesterday and again this morning, however, it clocks out several minutes after trying to make the connection. :confused3

You can buy tickets online at disney for MNSSHP. I just checked, it doesnt look like they are sold out. We went on Space Mountain back to back because there were no lines. The most we waited for a ride was 15 minutes. We got sooo much candy too. We each had one treat bag, we found out each person was allowed 2 bags.

I would suggest buying your tickets on line for the MMNSSHP. We never have wanted to do it when at Disney, but there have been two nights I can recall that they were sold out of tickets for the event. So if you are set on going, I would buy them in advance just to be on the safe side....

Thanks for the tip. I'll try their site to see if I can get a better deal. Right now we are reserved with Thrifty.

We are going on Friday night, Sep. 26. :wizard: :wizard: We are making T-shirts for us.

They did as of last week when I purchased our tickets. Received them yesterday in the mail.:yay: :yay:

I love Space Mountain......only because I can't see where I am going:scared:
The only other roller coaster type ride I do is the one with something about gold mine. Senior Moment......can't think of the name. :upsidedow Bryce (my DGS) says I start screaming on rides as soon as it takes off.:scared1:

Do they give you the treat bags or do we need to bring them along?

No problems here!

I am goign to try and book Palo for 6 people, but I think they only let you book for 4 people, should I try to book 2 tables and if so how do I do this?
Thanks

Thanks for all the thoughts for Crissi and family, I know they appreciate it

Denise,
Since there are 6 of us I had to split our Palo reservations and times. I booked 3 of us at 6:30 and 3 at 7:00. I was told when I called DCL that I will have to go to Rockin Bar D and have them combined. I had to do the same thing for brunch.

Hope this helps.

Maureen

I meant to post yesterday but in catching up on the thread it seems like lots of our DIS friends are having some hard times in their personal lives......and are going to really need a nice vacation to get away and recharge....good thing we all have one coming up in less than 75 days!! :goodvibes

So good thoughts out to all and everyone!

Just as a clarification....I know that lots of our DIS friends are going to MNSSHP on Friday night, Sept. 26th, the night before we cruise....and I should have been more clear....Jason and I (and Hadley's family) are not going that night....we're going Tuesday night, the 23rd.....we thought this would be easier so we wouldnt be up so late the night before the cruise AND it was one of the nights that Jason and I were able to buy all our tickets with a DVC discount which saved us a substantial amount of money. So if anyone else is going to the earlier party....we'll see you there....If not then maybe we'll post and tell everyone how fabulous it is after we go!!! :rotfl:
