That is a FABOO IDEA!! We should advertise the date, time and location and let people know that if htye have a Logo Tshirt (or other apparel) they shoudl wear it....and, of course, we can all wear our lanyards!

but are all our shirts the same color? I know we ordered ours in Navy (4 year old with a white tee shirt didn't seem like the BEST idea to me).

DH and I have already talked about seeing you guys in there :-) If there is a wine or beer tasting on board we are going to do everything we can to attend...so we'll probably see some of you guys during that. (ok..he does the beer tasting...we both do the wine).

YEAH! We plan to have on our Eagles stuff! We would also like to do beer/wine/margarita ANYTHING alcohol testing:thumbsup2
I was wondering where you guys were, Charlie!! I also love that nearly everyone is wearing the same shirt. It makes it easier to see faces. :) If we do this, I'll wear my logo T-shirt!

I also like Eriks idea of how to keep people informed! Are we able to call DCL and get the photo booked ahead of time?

You have to set this up with Shutters....Thursday sounds like a plan...should be done early AM so as not to conflict with any plans....again not everyone is going to show up but the thought is there...A letter sounds great...cabin numbers a must!!!

Yeah we could suggest to people to do that if they don't have it on a white Tshirt already. Jason and I both have two logo shirts each already....both are white but we we each have one with a red collar and one with a black collar. So maybe we should suggest to everyone that they either get a cafepress shirt with the logo on a white background OR print it out on iron-transfer paper and put it on a white shirt before the pic.

I am certain that DCL and Shutters will NOT schedule this for us before the cruise...we're going to need to organize it once we're aboard.

So.....did everyone see the idea I put in one of my earlier posts about the message boards on each deck? Did that seem like something people would be interested in doing? If so then I'd be happy to organized it actually. It's no work at all other than laminating 12 or so sheets and bringing some dry erase markers (which I can pick up cheap here). All the work of it really happens BEFORE the cruise...and could happen right now. We just need to get one or two volunteers on each deck (and I'm pretty sure we have people on every deck) who are willing to publicize their cabin # for folks to go and look at their message boards periodically. That is something we could easily figure out now and then post it in Post #1 (previously Post #6)...and we'd just ahve to encourage everyone to look at the list and see what cabin on their deck is their "Official DIS message Center".

What do people think?

What letters is Denise talking about? letters to be delivered to every cabin? That sounds like a huge royal pain undertaking! LOL I think we should definitely consider a more centralized way of disseminating information (not to push my message boards idea...but something like that :rotfl: ) Also do we actually need a cabin list for the people IN the photo? Or can't we just draw from the "Treasure Map" list that is already being compiled?

So just so I understand, for instance our picture, someone would send out a group voicemail to all the "official Dis message center" people, if I am one of them, I would go to the lmainted paper outside my cabin and write a message for everyone to see? If thats it, I am IN:banana:

Can you tell I want to be a part of SOMETHING:rotfl:

I was going to make you all guess...I looks alot better if everyone is wearing the same shirts...We all had these shirts made ( I was the designer) and wore them at the port,sail-a-way party and this photo....Still have mine!!!:yay:

We still have ours also and wear them periodically.;)

I'm sure the dark color is what dulled the names....do you have a transfer set for dark fabrics? The chemical they use is a bit different in that one so that the colors tend to stay brighter (I've done this one myself is the only reason I'm asking).

Try painting over the names with fabric paint and a small brush...or add a metalic to them with paint either of those should help.

Yes, I did use the dark transfers. Great idea. I think I will outline the names with crystal glitter.

that's an easy fix!!.....

if the names are there, just dull....then use them as kind of a STENCIL.....go to a craft store and buy some fabric puffy paint in the bright colors you want and outline or fill them in or whatever. This will add dimension and color to them....you can even get glittery paint...OR sprink some glitter lightly on the wet fabric paint to add just a little of tink's pixie dust!! :)

Another great idea.....I'll outline the letters with crystal glitter and fill them in with bright colored fabric paint.

Yes that's exactly how it would work....OR if you had an announcement you could also just walk around the ship to each deck and put it on the boards yourself (I've found in the past this is a very good way to burn off some of my visits to Scoops :rotfl2: ).

I am on deck 6, too, and would gladly have it at our room, as well (and actually since I have the lanyard list I happen to know that there are a cluster of DISers on both sides of me, across the hall and all around me and Jason!!)

OK, folks, well then let's officially get this ball rolling and start our next important DIS project:

OFFICIAL "DDD" DECK-BY-DECK MESSAGE CENTERS!!!

(Note: "DDD"= DIS Double Dip :thumbsup2 )

Ideally, we need two cabins to volunteer on each deck. One cabin should be on starboard side of the ship (cabin numbers whose second digit is a 5 or 6) and one should be on port side (cabin numbers whose second digit is a 0 or 1). (Based solely on my lanyard list I can see that we do have cabins on every deck on every side of the ship...so this should be an easy order to fill!)

These cabins will each be given a small magnetic dry erase board for their door where important DIS announcements and messages can be put for other cruisers to check throughout the trip.

Please Note: if you would like to be the message center on your deck & side of the ship, your DIS screen-name and cabin number will be added to Post #1 on this thread and distributed to all DIS cruisers.

If you would like to volunteer, please PM me asap (first come basis for each section of the ship).


Note: We already have all of Deck 6 covered (port will be RKandMJsMommy and starboard will be me/Jason) and Deck 2 starboard (videoman)

If you want to donate the markers and bring them to me at the port that woudl be fantabulous.....if we fill every slot then I'll need 11 markers to have one with each message board.

I am soo excited my fish extender is done. I had someone make it for us, and it is better than I could have imagined. :) Everyone in our family has their own theme too. Now I just have to find fabric paint to put our names on it.

Speaking of meets... anyone staying at the Country Inn and Suites pre cruise.... We will be there the 25th around 7pm. Friday Hitting the Kennedy Space center but maybe we can meet in the Breakfast area Fri Morning.. or even Thursday night.. is there a bar there? (I know you would think I would know this huh... off to find out now!) LOL :rotfl:

Hi, Drea!

We're planning on being there by Thursday. We're planning on driving down starting Wed. So if we get an early start & drive straight through, we may be there early AM on Thurs. :) We're also thinking about KSC on Friday. Tix are a bear though so we'll see. DH is wanting to do a restaurant over in Titusville Friday night if we do go to KSC - one that serves rock shrimp. I'll get more details from him & let you know about that. Otherwise, I think trying to meet up Thrus evening, Fri am, or Fri pm would be great!!
