Just checking in:surfweb:
I am beginning to wonder is trying to get to Orlando in time for the MNSSHP on Friday evening is worth it! Please tell me it is!!

MNsshp is sooo worth it. :) The fireworks are the best. :) the parade is awesome too. We went in last year at 4 and stayed until midnight. The kids didnt want to leave either.

I totally agree MNSSHP is just incredible. Disney puts on an amazing show. I have gone for the past 5 years and it is a totally fun experience. Make sure to get there ASAP they let you in starting at 4pm with your MNSSHP ticket.

I still have not told the girls about this trip. Next week is my family reunion and I hope no one spills the beans! :scared:

We're doing this with a cruise next year. The kids think we're going to do a 5 day Carnival, but we're doing a 7 day Magic as a celebration of dh being back. Oldest ds was upset he couldn't come with us. He even suggested maybe we'd want to cancel.

Yeah right. Like that would happen.

Julie

Cool map Fizzgig.

Looking at it, I wish were were going somewhere else in Mexico, or maybe Belize. If we were going to a new port, I'd drag the Horde off the ship to learn something. The big ones are suggesting Disney should do an Asian cruise, starting in Hong Kong, so we could do that.

Wow, 3 pages already? I feel like I am fashionably late ;)

So I am trying very hard not to be a panicky mommy--but I am totally failing at the moment. Marika got on a houseboat on Lake Powell right after we spoke via cell phone on Staurday morning. She is with my in-laws, their friends (who own the boat), my DSiL and her DH and some of the other grandkids from both families (note Dave and I--and the other missing parents--did not pawn our kids off we were not invited due to lack of space). So, Saturday my DMiL got on the phone and let me know that they always take the "runabout boat" to an area they know that gets cell reception every day and call home to check in because the owner's mom worries. So, she said to expect to hear from Marika every day or at least every other day. We haven't heard anything since Saturday:eek: I was good through Tuesday, yesterday I was starting to get pretty worried and doing things like checking Utah news to make sure there were no reports of houseboats going down, etc. Last night my DBiL (whose son is also on the trip sans parents) called also worried and having not heard a thing (at least it isn't only me!). Well by tonight I am a basket case. I am sure there is some toatlly logical explanation but I WANT TO KNOW THAT MY LITTLE GIRL IS OKAY. Of course, had DMiL not told me to expect calls I would have assuemd there was nowhere with reception and I would not be in nearly such a state:sad2:

Thanks for easing my mind somewhat.

I've spent the last two days trying to find a feasible price and time on new flights without success. I feel cross-eyed. :surfweb: There doesn't seem to be a solution for us right now.

Took a break from it tonight and went to a local 4th of July parade with DH, Jeninpa and the grandkids. DGS drove one of our John Deere tractors and DH drove another John Deere pulling us on a trailer decorated with flags, etc.
The kids had fun throwing candy and I had fun just relaxing and spending time with all of them.

Everyone have a safe 4th of July.

Hadley-
I'd be a basket case, too. We've left our kids with dh's parents and have been out of contact, but everything was okay.

I'm trying not to be hovering, and remind myself when I was dd's age, I was coming in from the suburbs alone on the bus, then riding the subway to go to Phillies games. But it's hard when they're your kids. I can't believe the idiotic things I did when I was younger. Sometimes I think I'm lucky to be alive.

Hadley - I'm sorry to hear you haven't spoken to your daughter yet. Please try to think only positive thoughts. Maybe the "runabout boat" broke down and they can't reach an area with cell phone reception.

Pixie dust and hugs for you. :grouphug:

Hadley: I am sorry you are so worried :sad1: I am sure that everything is fine. :flower3:

So, my twin sister is on a cruise as we speak. It's a Royal Carribean cruise, but I still am a tad bit jealous. Good thing is I'm spending the night with my DBF so I feel better! :lovestruc

Anyway...for the question of the week...

DBF- Yo-Ho, A Pirates Life for Me, Go the Distance and A Dream is a Wish a Your Heart Makes (because that is my ring tone on his phone and he said he loves it because he knows I'm calling him! )

Me - I must say it has to be "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" and since I've met my DBF, I love "So This Is Love" from Cinderella. Also I love "For the First Time" from the Broadway production of Tarzan because it truly describes how it felt to fall in love with my DBF. I know it's sappy...but I love him and I can't help it! :)

Maybe the Cell Phone battery died and no way to plug it in or charge it? :confused3

Did anybody book the Two-Day Castaway Cay Getaway Package at Castaway Cay? Just wondering how much it ended up costing. It looks like it's cheaper then what they list. Is that right?
Tonya

Hadley - I'm sure it has to do with maybe not being able to take the roundabout boat and therefore there is no cell reception. I'd actually take comfort in the fact that DBiL hasn't really heard anything either, which points more to that they probably just can't make the calls. You would have heard something by now so I'm sure everything is fine. When is she due back?

Hadley, I would be like that too. I know it's easier sitting on this side saying everything is fine. Let us know when you hear from Marika. :grouphug:
Tonya

((((Hadley)))) As much as I'm sure everything is fine, in your shoes I would be a wreck as well. There are a million benign explanations for why you haven't heard from them - certainly the "runaround boat" having mechanical trouble and unable to take them to a spot with good reception is likely, even probable. I will pray that you hear from her ASAP - please let us know when you do.
