This week's Question of the Week is not really about getting to know one another. It is someting we have nearly all thrown out there at some point, BUT now that we are getting to the point where we are all seriously thinking about packing let's get it all out there in the space of a few pages for easy reference:rotfl: What is your best packing tip? If you have cruised DCL before hopefully you have a DCL specific tip. If not, just general tips about how to get it all in, etc. are always helpful:thumbsup2 .

My tips would be double check that you have all the chargers for your electronics along with you and also to bring a power strip.

I know it will be crazier, but they put a cap on ticket sales, don't they?

Several folks in my group can't go on the 5th because they have to be back here on the 6th for work. If we go on the 4th, we can drive home on the 5th......

I agree it will be busy, but it is my last night wah! I think I decided we are going to go for it we will be at the CR that night so at least we will be close. We will go to Epcot during the day and then hit MNSSHP. MNSSHP is one of my favorite things at WDW so another year another 3 parties:cool1:

if the 4th works better for everyone, by all means DONT MISS MNSSHP!!!! but if there is a choice i would go with the 5th.. not that I am an expert!

:cheer2: Welcome Katie and DH.:cheer2:

How's come Mrs. FatCat never chats??????

LOL when I read this yesterday I knew I had seen the best sandals for you:thumbsup2

GOOD ONE! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

ok sooooo I went to the dollar store today.. trying to get some supplies to make a fish extender.. Well they had a plastic hanging shower caddy thing.. kinda like a hanging shoe holder.. anyway I bought 1 and cut it down to like 6 pockets instead of 10.. bought foam rubber sticky letters and black foam to make mickey heads.. $3. woo hoo!! :woohoo:

I also bought a 3 pocket bed side hanging pocket thing, lol, as a back up. I cut it to 1 pocket and added a foam mickey head on it, just in case the other doesnt work

Aren't you the creative one........how about a picture????

Another tip - I bought an extra battery for my camera so I don't miss any Kodak moments..........I'm sure there will be lots of those!

Ok, I know we have a lot of crafty people on our thread. Who has made iron-on shirts? Light or dark transfers? Does it really matter if they are 100% cotton, Do the dark transfers last longer and wash better? Or are the cheaper light transfers just as good? All the experts on the Creative DISigns thread are confusing me!

Please help........

Thanks,

Crissi

Crissi I have done many an iron on shirts and I always use the dark transfer paper...the color is much more vibrant and they seem to hold up really well. I will say though if you have white on your design that you don't want to show you will need to trim it because the white will show.

Oh ITA with you! If we had the opportunity to do the Sunday party we totally would I would not be surprised if the party on the 4th sells out to be honest. Lots of school breaks, Columbus Day coming up, and of course more locals. Fridays are usually pretty busy as well. Last year I hit 3 parties...the party I attended on a Sunday was by far the least crowded. So now I will hit 3 this year Sept 23, 26, and Oct 4th I'm pleased as pop about it as well:goodvibes :goodvibes

Did anyone else see that Disney is now offering a MNSSHP on 10/4? Ah I can't decide what to do now MNSSHP on 9/26 or on 10/4?
hmm thats tempting... Since we are just planning on doing DTD. Adding MNSSHP would be fun.. hmmmm yet it might tucker us out for the next few days to do the parks... Desisions desisions LMAO:confused3

I know there are a few Floridians in the area, & I hope that Fay has left you all unscathed. We got hit HARD here on the Space Coast. !
Oh man Michelle that is scary. Stay safe. all you Floridians! :grouphug:

I wanted to say HELLO!

Gruesse nach Baumholder. Well, OK, I have to look up where Baumholder ist, never heard of this army base before! :confused3 Be right back ........ Oh, close to Homburg/Saar, where I lived when I was a kid. Nice.

Oliver, it’s great to see you posting again!! I’ve been looking at “the” Roll Call list a lot lately, and have wondered if you and your wife were still on-board with us! I hope things are well in Germany for you, Steffi, and the dogs!

Don't worry, we would never miss a double-dip! But actually it is no longer two dogs, just one. We decided weeks ago to deliver Frieda from her pain. She had a stroke couple of months ago and we've been "working" on her stag-evil (I hope this is the right translation for this) for a long time now. The doc said, it's time to put her to sleep, and we thought the same way. But we are fine now and looking forward for the best cruise ever.

Ohh, if somebody wants to watch our dog Frieda: http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=X99MdTBVs6k

Watch what??? :scared1: You go from "putting your dog down for valid reasons" to here's a YouTube!

Where is everybody staying the night before?

Residence Inn Cocoa Beach

And, as a surprise for steffis parents, who will go on their first cruise, we invite them to V&A. I'm still thinking about a good plan to get them to wear the proper attire and drive to the Grand Floridian without telling them what will happen. Maybe I'll tell them that as 3rd time cruisers we are invited to a special event. :rolleyes1

Oliver

Welcome Katie.

Dh mentioned trying to get leave from Afghanistan to make the cruise, but we figured it was too much of a risk. Our friend coming home on leave last winter almost missed his own wedding because he got hung up in Kuwait waiting for a flight, so we're cruising without dh.

Julie

Sorry, but the dog you see in this video was our dog. One of the last recordings. To us it's a nice memory ...

Oliver

Oh, ok... That's completely not the impression you left me with... :rotfl:

Where's my coffee??? Evidently I need a bigger cup! :rotfl:

YIKES!!! That means my dd's 3rd birthday party is only ONE MONTH away?! Geez. I have a ton to do.

Me too... 8/31 is kids (very late) birthday party, 9/6 is my gma's 90th birthday party, and 9/21 I'm throwing a baby shower for my oldest friend.

I agree it will be busy, but it is my last night wah! I think I decided we are going to go for it we will be at the CR that night so at least we will be close. I wish we were going to do MNSSHP. We've done it the past 3 years. I will miss it this year. :(

No problem at all. Sometimes it is not easy writing in a foreign language. Have a nice day in one of my fav. cities in the US !! :)

Oliver

:) You speak... err, type?... English like a native! I will think English like a native after this large cafe mocha I just made. :rotfl:

Denver is 90-92 degrees Farenheit today and bright sunshine. Sure you don't want to switch places? ;) The food is better in Germany (I've been told), so I'm willing to swap! :) My Army spouse friend told me great organic foods are more available in Germany, and the Germans are much better at recycling and building houses.

Though I have to admit to loving my mountain view off my back porch... I'd miss that.
