Good morning, everyone!

Welcome Katie! Enjoy chatting with us!

I must admit, FatCat you really make me laugh! I look forward to your FE gift! :)

In one month from today, my DBF and I'll be at MK after having breakfast at Chef Mickey's! I can't wait!!!!

I had a question to ask all of you, but I can't remember! Oh well...when I remember, I'll post it!

Have a great day everybody! :)

Here's our Chiana:

She likes having her picture taken.

I think your Frieda was beautiful, OliverOAS. She seems very gentle. I say that because of how she took the treat from your wife.

What a cute puppy!!!!! We're puppy sitting this weekend so it should be fun! :)

I wish I knew about this thread over a yr ago when i booked me and my family on this cruise. i need all the help i can get to get ready for this cruise....it is almost cruise time and i am not ready one iota...i have picked out what we will wear, what we will do, what we will eat...nothing....i biggest thing right now is finding out what to do as far as transportation to and from the airport...from the airport to my room off site and from room to ship the next day and from the ship directly to airport....any suggestions?:flower3:

:rotfl: You say that NOW... Lemme know on Monday how it went!

We have Puppy Fort Knox in the backyard and actually BOUGHT a HOUSE because of this dog!!! She refuses to use the bathroom with people watching. No joke! She will GLARE at you watching her from a window until you put down the shades, and THEN do her business.

We were in an apartment when we got her. She had severe separation anxiety (she was a pound puppy, poor baby) and ended up needing to have puppy day care while we were at work. Eventually, she's chilled out (except for Shiba 500's about 4 times a day where she runs around like a crazy dog for 5 minutes) and become a couch potato.

I think her big aspiration in life is to be a bomb sniffing dog. She sniffs all packages that enter through the front door (yeah, the back door or garage entry doesn't set her off). Her second choice would be to compete in agility, but she refuses to mind when off the leash, so that's a no-go.

Gotta love doggies. She's my company during the day. I can always count on her to start barking right before the conference call starts. :rotfl:

Thrifty Rental Car is working for us.

What price range per person are you looking for? Do you have any special needs? Are you planning on a run to the grocery store before getting on the boat? Where are you staying the night before?

ok sooooo I went to the dollar store today.. trying to get some supplies to make a fish extender.. Well they had a plastic hanging shower caddy thing.. kinda like a hanging shoe holder.. anyway I bought 1 and cut it down to like 6 pockets instead of 10.. bought foam rubber sticky letters and black foam to make mickey heads.. $3. woo hoo!! :woohoo:

I also bought a 3 pocket bed side hanging pocket thing, lol, as a back up. I cut it to 1 pocket and added a foam mickey head on it, just in case the other doesnt work
You are so dang creative! I want to see a picture:thumbsup2

Welcome!!! We're just doing a transfer from the airport to the port directly so I don't know the easiest way to do your various stops. But I bet someone on here is doing what you're doing & will chime in!

Glad you joined the group...we're a chatty bunch who loves to add new friends!!!

We're off today to one of my least favorite places in the world...Chuck E Cheese (in the summer). :sad2: The biggest reason I loathe that place is all the GERMS:sick: . I'm the crazy hand-sanitizer lady when we're there, and I'm a nutty woman about "DON'T PUT YOUR HANDS IN YOUR MOUTH!" while we're there. :scared1:

The one motivator that Reese really responded to for practicing his violin was a reward chart and he gets true delight out of coloring off one violin picture for each day of practice. After he colors all 15 violins, he gets to pick a fun place to go. And today, it's Chuck E Cheese. Ick.

Later tonight, we're going to the rodeo if the weather holds out. It's been rainy, so I'm hoping it will let up long enough for our fun evening. Jeff just got a PS3 (because he wanted the new Madden game!) so he's happy to have us out of the house for all day & tonight so he can play and not feel guilty  I told him I was glad he found something fun to get his competitive edge out!

For all of you who have cruised many times with DCL, I have a question. Do I really need to bring meds in there original containers or can I put them in small ziploc baggies and stuff them into one original container. All meds would be none perscription if that matters.

Bring the original containers, especially if you are going on a plane. Here's the TSA page on meds: http://www.tsa.dhs.gov/travelers/airtravel/specialneeds/index.shtm

Here's the specifics for "original container": http://www.tsa.dhs.gov/travelers/airtravel/specialneeds/editorial_1374.shtm#4

TSA governs both the plane and the ship, but I have personally found air travel to be more strict.

Hope that helps!

Welcome Katie.

Dh mentioned trying to get leave from Afghanistan to make the cruise, but we figured it was too much of a risk. Our friend coming home on leave last winter almost missed his own wedding because he got hung up in Kuwait waiting for a flight, so we're cruising without dh.

Julie

Yes, it is a great risk - he gets 18 days this R & R since he is deployed for 15 mos. We made it ok last time for R & R in 06. We bought travel insurance through USAA and we are covered if he can't make it. :::crosses fingers::::

You dog sounds like a riot! :rotfl2:

Luckily we've puppysat for the dogs before...actually the day they got Godiva (she's a cocker spaniel) she was at our house. They know us and love coming to our house...I think it's because my mom feeds them and treats them like princesses!

OMG, a rodeo! I was to a rodeo out in Cody, WY in 2005 and had a blast! It was so much fun!!!!!

:)

So do we have confirmation on the new Port Canaveral Policy.

No Liquid beverages of any kind in checked luggage.

You have to bring them in your carryon. :rolleyes1

Good thing I have two mules.

I mean kids. pirate:

Chiana definitely livens up our lives. I've got a ton of funny stories over her ways.

Is Godiva chocolate-colored? I understand about the special relationship between Grandmas and doggies. Chiana always mopes around the house after the Grandmas leave. It's as if she believes she'll never eat or be petted again. Goofball puppy.

We're also dog sitting all next week. For my parents, for the dog I grew up with. She's a 13 yr-old lab and her health has been a little up and down lately. Hopefully nothing happens in the next week. I don't know if I could take it.

Yes, Godiva is a chocolate-colored puppy and Kelcee is the other puppy.

I thought these restrictions only pertain to liquid medicine. I've never had issues when traveling with "pills" and have often "mixed" over the counter pills in one container when traveling.

added thought - all of this only applies to carry on. You can pack anything in your suitcase.

viagara and aleve are same color and shape.

My thoughts exactly!!!!

Amy - check your Yahoo email - I just sent two emails regarding AirTran - what flight are you on going down?

It is 617, but according to the website, using the confirmation number (well letters) that I was given, it's still leaving at 1:43pm on 9/20/08. Maybe it's full? It would have said it had changed if it had, right?
