"Double Dip Delight" 09.27.2008 - Chapter 5!

Hi guys, I'm sorry I haven't been around much lately...I've been so busy with work...sadly today I was laid off from my full time job. I'm still in shock...

Just needed to share with my Double Dip Family.

Oh my goodness!!!! I'm so sorry to hear that. :(

Oh no! Oh AMY! :sad2: I am so sorry!!!

That is terrible, I so hope you can find something else quickly!
I really hope this doesn't affect your wedding and/or honeymoon! :sad1:

Thanks you guys. :grouphug: I'm hoping something comes along soon too. Don't worry, it's not going to cause any changes to to the wedding or our honeymoon...I"m going to need that honeymoon to WDW by that point!

I am trying to get all of my doctor appointments taken care of before my insurance ends at the end of the month. My orthopedic surgery is squeezing me in to get my painful screw removed from my leg on Wednesday so I'm very happy about that.

I'm more sad that I'm not going to see my co-workers everyday. Oh well...when one door closes and other one opens...

You seem to have it all together, Amy, and that's a wonderful thing. I hate that you're losing your job and your co-workers, but I'm quite sure there's a plan in place for you and your life. I'm thrilled to hear that you don't have to change anything about the wedding or honeymoon!!!

I hope that screw comes out easily and that you have no more pain from it!!

Thank you for the kind words. Everyone has been so supportive of me and it makes me feel so good. Last night Dave and I went out and celebrated our third anniversary at Dave and Buster's...it was fun - we played some games and had a nice dinner. Today we went and looked for tuxes for the wedding and even found a wedding band we liked! It's been a great distraction. Today would be my normal 'Saturday' since I work Tuesday - Saturday, so it's not too bad today. Tuesday maybe a little different, we'll have to see.

I'm going home tomorrow morning (I'm at Dave's house right now) to sign the paperwork for the small surgery to get my screw out and then I'm going to come back down and spend the day here. I'm keeping busy, which is always good.

I'll be ok...I just keep thinking about the song "There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow"... I'm sure it's just around the corner. :)

I'm so glad you've had some diversions. Happy anniversary! :)

I hope the surgery goes quickly and easily for you.

LOL!!!! That's my theme song - I always tell people to have a great day and a great, big, beautiful tomorrow. Always makes me think of my favorite place, and no matter what, I feel better. :)

Hugs for you, Amy. :grouphug::grouphug:

I went in this morning to sign my paperwork to have the screw removed. The entire procedure takes only about 2 minutes! They are going to put my under though, which I am about about, but it should be quick at least. I did get pain pills though I probably won't have to take many if any at all.

Thanks again for the hugs! :)

hugs Amy

Well - looks like we're all busy with our new plans so no one is posting anymore. I see some of you on facebook so it's great to keep in touch!

LOL..this great thread is dying a slow death but it isn't gone yet! :goodvibes

We booked our RCCL cruise this weekend on the Independence of the Seas. It is an 8 night Eastern (awesome! Extra day!) and is going to St Thomas St.Maarten and San Juan plus RCCL's private beach in Labadee Haiti.

I'm dying to go on the zip line in Labadee, supposedly you fly at 50 MPH (and we sure as heck better since it costs $80, LOL)

Anyway it is nice to be all wrapped up in cruise planning again! :goodvibes

Congrats!!! It's sounds like alot of fun. the zip line is something I'd like to try, too. Had friends come back from Mexico last week and they did the zip line (well her DH and DS did - she chickened out) and they loved it!!

Tonight Dave and I picked our menu for wedding! Here it is!!!

Fruit and cheese display

Mozarella sticks with marinara
Chicken nuggets with honey mustard
Potato pancakes with applesauce and sour cream
Beef teriyaki sate
Scallops wrapped in bacon

Fresh gourmet mixed greens with cucumber, tomato and seasoned croutons with Italian dressing (good seasons)

Beef tips burgandy (mushrooms)
Carved turkey with turkey gravy
Baked ziti
Red Bliss potatoes (red potatoes in a herb and garlic butter)
Green beans with toasted almonds
Wild Rice

We tried a few samples and they were so good! Of course he wedding cake is the dessert. We still have to pick that.

Hope all is well with everyone!

I hope that you find a new job that offers you room for both personal and financial growth. Happy to hear that you are not going to allow this setback to affect your plans for the future. Hope the surgery went well.

I am on facebook if you can find me. I am not very good at using facebook.

I was very happy to see this thread still alive. I hear that RCCL is good but haven't been able to risk it yet.
