The GMs party was for families. ( our daughter was 9 last year, 10 this year, so your girls would be the perfect age.) It is just a dance type party. At one point the cruise staff will ask someone to make up a dance move. Gabby did a spin, so then they asked about 5 more kids for a dance move, then they combined them all. It was really cute. My dd loved it, since they kept saying "Do the Gabby".

Sounds perfect for my girls! I'm sure they will love it. We are also traveling w/10 and 11 year old girls. They're veterans so I'm sure they already know about it, but I just told my girls what you said, and they're psyched!:cool1: I'm sure I'll love it, too! :woohoo:

My DH would like me to ask if anyone is going to be watching the baseball playoffs and/or football. He would also like to know if there are any Giants and/or Mets fans out there. (Val and Gang, I know your answer already! :) )
Big Mets and Giants fan here. I'm going to wear my David Wright shirt or my superbowl Giants tee.....

Does he think that the NY Mets will be in the playoffs???????

We're booked for the Stingrays/Rum Point with DCL. For 3 of us it's 289.00! I'm considering getting off the ship, taking a cab to Rum Point then using Red Sail Sports at RP to go to the stingrays. RSS web page, says it's 30 bucks to the stingrays. Sounds cheap!

Anyone used them?

Anyone taken a cab to Rum Point? How much, How long is the ride?

Anyone want to go with us?

Well its unusual to hear such stories so it's always nice to share. The most hysterical part is that about 2 weeks after my parents got married I asked if I could be 'his' the compromise was that I got to use his last name at school even though I had not been adopted yet. Now my brother married a lady with a little boy who just asked the same question. We've been chuckling for a while now over that one.

After DH & I got married, We explained "adoption" to DS and said, we don't need an answer now, think about it, take as much time as you need, but if you would like Andy to adopt you, he would be more then happy to.. So.. almost a year later, out of nowhere, DS & I were driving home from Karate and he asks me.. Do you think Andy would still want to adopt me? :lovestruc I said of course he would pumpkin, maybe you should ask him at dinner tonight. DS did too. He was all serious about it. He said, I would really like to speak to you about something important, can I ask you now or should I wait for dinner to be over? DH looked at me, questioning look, and all I did was smile. Then I looked at DS and smiled and winked. Let's just say he was so sweet and innocent that I of course was all teary eyed and sniffling and even DH had wet eyes.. :goodvibes

:cheer2: DH is a HUGE Mets fan!! He is even waiting for his Playoff tickets, they are ordered.. just waiting to see the outcome... :cheer2:

Thank you. :yay:

Debating on if we are going to bring a case of our favorite beer.

With my luck the bottles will break no matter how well I pack them. Hmmm, better rethink this.
Thanks :)

Yeah..I muti quoted this a few pages back. What Fat Cat said.:lmao:

I think we're the only ones up! :rotfl:

Good luck finding Southern Sweet Tea in FL. :rotfl2: I'm not Originally from the south, so I like unsweet tea.

Tiffany

Now if you ask *me* It's harder to get unsweet down here. That's all I drink, too. Especially at Mc Donalds- ugh! How hard is it????;)

we got home yesterday before lunch. He took a nice long nap, was asleep before 8 last night and is still asleep at the moment....hopefully another good nap today and he'll be on the road back to normal. His ear is much better since the ENT sucked out the infection and he's gotten some really good meds via IV at the hospital.

Glad to hear Elliott is doing better. Poor little guy.

They have this breakfast 'sandwich' that are their little nuggets in a tiny yeast roll....man are they good. Their chicken is very moist which is why I like it so much.
OMG...yes.....(droool) I could eat 100 of those, no joke.
Chick-fil-A is da bomb!

:grouphug: This group has had a very interesting week! I'm praying that all of these little ones (and Jenn) are feeling better by the time we get to Florida next week. You're all going to need this cruise!!!!!!!
I'm feeling a lot better today, almost have full range of motion back in my arm.
Should be just fine by Sat!:yay:

So great to hear from you! Glad to know that you guys and Hadley and Sandi's group all arrived safely and that everyone is enjoying their vacation. I told Amy (TheDisneyGirl02) and Dave to keep an eye out for you guys (they left and arrived safey yesterday).

Like hearing the updates from everyone! Keep 'em coming!

All right....my DH has a question and because I love him so, I am going to ask here on the boards for all my fellow DIS'ers who have been so wonderful with all their insight.....

Now, we've been to Palo before (several times actually) and we were wondering if anyone else 'tips' on the additional $15/pp? It is my understanding the reason there is a cost for Palo is to cover the tip for your servers since it is not automatically included in the rest of your 'tips' onboard. Normally, we tip an additional $10-20; but he seems to think this is unnecessary....thoughts?

This is what we do, we always doubled the $20 fee we paid in tip. We will probably not raise it with the raise in fee, however. First time at brunch, but since I understand some of it is self-serve (buffet) we plan on $10-15 tip for that. Hope that helps.

How do I flip the logo for the shirts I am making? Can I do it with Word or do I have to have a program? If I can't do it on word is there anybody that might be able to send me an attachment with it flipped? Thank you! My email is
googles@sbcglobal.net
I have not made T-shirts before, but look to see if there is an "invert" selection anywhere in the menu of the graphics program you are using. I am pretty sure that there is that option in Paint.

Grady had his second Dentist appointment today and had 3 more teeth pulled. The Dentist said that would be it for awhile! He was such a trooper and never complained about any of it! Doug and I gave him an IPod at his last appointment and I wasn't planning on getting him anything else, but I broke down and picked up a frog Webkin for him. I'm so weak! We actually had the IPod for him and we were going to have it in his travel bag in the car for the drive down as a surprise, but it seemed better to give it to him after his appointment. He loves it! He has wanted one for a long time.

Tiffany

Oh no, I guess I missed that post. Poor guy. Why is he having so many teeth pulled? Glad he was a trooper :-)

Those of you with 10-11 year olds....

Are you letting them check themselves out of the kids clubs? And, if so, allow them to go where? My older son is a month shy of his 11th birthday so he can likely choose to go with the 8-10's or 11-12 group.

He wants to be able to check himself out and go to the pool. I called DCL and they allow 10 and up to check themselves out (with parent's permission on the form) and to go to the pool without parents.

I didn't let him do it last year - mostly cause it was our first cruise. He is in 6th grade and is typical. He is usually very responsible with things like this and very stranger wary and not the type to run around playing in the elevator or whatever.

I'm thinking of letting him do it within certain parameters (times of day, that he lets me know by page from the club or by two-way radio, only allowed to go certain places, etc).

I am going to let my 10 year old son check out and see how it goes. Drea is letting her 10 year old son too, so I thought they could stick together. I am not going to let my son swim without me. I don't feel comfortable letting him do that. I will probably do the same thing as others have said.. let him get a snack or drink then go back.. not wander all over the ship.

How does the pager work? When they page do we have to meet them at the kids club to see what they want? If so I just hope he doesn't keep setting it off in the middle of wine tasting or something! :rotfl:

I know there are a bunch of football fans on this trip. ( Packers, Eagles). look for the huge group at CC.

Our football game isnt on until Monday night. :) It will be dh at Diversions, I will be at the Golden Mickeys after party. ;)

Oh phew... then you won't have a chance to see me in my Ravens jersey, cheering against your Steelers. <shifty look> You still love me, right Val? ;)

:lovestruc Okay, you guys have to cool it with all these heartwarming stories... I get misty every time! :lovestruc

When you print, and the print menu pops up, select properties and change the type of paper to iron-on - it should either automatically flip the logo or ask if you want to flip it. It's been awhile since I did an iron on, so you might want to do a test run first on paper. Someone else might have better advice who has done it more recently though! Drea????

We're just doing Rum Point, no stingrays. So we'll see you at the beach! :thumbsup2 We are doing it through Disney though, because I'm paranoid about getting there and back by ourselves.

AQW: You still love me, right Val?

As long as we win. :rotfl2:

Stacy: Awesome story, I got teary eyed. :)

Is everybody wearing the logo shirts to the port? Just wondering so I can talk Mike into wearing one too. lol I don't think he really wants too...:rotfl:

The only shirts I found at Michael's were ones that looked like undershirts :confused3 Anybody else doing that with the ironed on logo?

Oh

You will get a pager that says ....XXXX wants to be picked up. When we went to Palo we told the kids club this, that way they wouldnt bother us unless it was an emergency. Sometimes it takes a few minutes to go and pick the kids up. :)

We are having our 10 yr just page us to say she is checking herself out of the kids club. ( that way we know she is headed back to the room). We have a note board in the cabin too, letting her know where we are going to be.

Make sure you and dh have the password to pick up the kids.... they wont let the kids out without the password, even if it is Dad or Mom. (or anyone else in your party.. Grandma etc.)

My DH would like me to ask if anyone is going to be watching the baseball playoffs and/or football. He would also like to know if there are any Giants and/or Mets fans out there. (Val and Gang, I know your answer already! :) )

My Hubby is a big Bears fan, so we'll be there for the Bears game! :)

I dislike flying too - but I do like getting to Orlando in 2 hours. I'm not as fearful of it as I used to be - I used to just dread getting on the plane even weeks away from the trip - it put a big damper on the usual pre-trip excitement.

I like this website: http://www.fearlessflight.com/ They used to have discussion boards there - but I don't see them now. There are some good articles on turbulence and the like - typical things that make people nervous to fly.

What helps me the most is to get interested in a good book before I go - then I hooked on it during the flight (and an Ipod with some music so I can't hear the plane noises). With 2 kids sitting next to me it is hard to tune out though! LOL! We're flying Jet Blue which has direct TV at each seat so that is fun to watch. A few Spongebob episodes and we're landing....whew!:upsidedow

I will have to send that site to my mom. She hasn't flown in 30 years. Did it one time and she was freaked out. My brother is getting married in Hawaii next month and she is scared. I am trying to find things that will help her out. I give her a hard time because when I had my son I lived in Mass. and she was in Ca. and was to scared to fly out, but now she is flying for my brothers wedding.. :lmao:

Well, I went away for a little while and came back to a big response re the Giants.

Shoes 99 and Stacy's DH--I know w/whom my DH will be hanging on Sunday. As big a Giants fan as he is, I'm sure he'll be happy to hang w/all the football fans, such as your DH, Heather! :cheer2:

If anyone was watching the Giants game, there is a guy on Cincinatti w/very, very long, frizzy hair--a defensive lineman. One of my DDs said that his hair is longer than mine, but that my hair "isn't as bad as his." :scared1: Nice, huh? :rotfl2:

Try Nativeway. They are www.nativewaywatersports.com

We are doing rays, reef and starfish.

If you want to do that with us we are up for it. We are booked in the morning time I believe.
