Hey everyone. Hi new folks
LAte seating with kids: I will echo the many otehr comments: we prefer it (even when the kids were small). When they were small the best part to me was seeing the show first (otherwise they alwasy fell asleep in the theatre).
This time tomorrow night we will be happily hangin' out at Port Orleans "The bags are packed and we're ready to go . . ."
WE head for the airport at 1:00 tomorrow. I haev told the kdis if we get hte house cleaned up early enoug when can treat ourselves to a pedicure before we leave

Which Port Orleans are you staying at? Dave and I will be at Riverside starting Saturday night.

Welcome!!!!! I know for a fact that there are several other 14 year olds who are traveling in this Dis Group, so she's not alone by any means! I personally don't have any 14 year olds traveling with me though...but WELCOME!!!

Thanks.. it helps to know I'm not alone. The whole mess is just gov't bureaucracy... in/out processing... I'm so freaked out.... Fingers are crossed for everyone else whose DH/DW is coming home for this trip.

I can't believe in less than 48 hours I will be at WDW and I won't be able to post on this thread until after we all meet! It doesn't seem possible!

OK...what does the "flight" or "airline" mode on a cell phone mean? I don't want to keep my cell phone on while I'm flying (are you kidding, I'm freaking out enough as it is!), but I'm just wondering what it is.

It means that you can turn your phone on once the crew give the all clear & use it for things like games, or photos. But it won't be connected to a newtwork so it won't interfere with the plane .

If you turn your phone to that mode before you switch it off when you get on the plane it will be all set if you want to use it for that stuff. Hope that helps .

We're in Flower Mound...how 'bout you? I'm glad I have an impulsive friend who takes her two boys there for the night, "just because" hubby is out of town She counted us as being in her room so we got wristbands when we went to the hotel this morning to meet them! We're actually going to spend a night there in November so we can take Daddy back to the waterpark. It was EMPTY and we had a blast!!

We are north of Fort Worth but spend a lot of time over your way, use to live in Lewisville We haven't been to the "lodge" yet....great there goes the song again...goin to the lodge....great wolf lodge

I felt so badly for her she kept crying. It is so horrible. It only happened last night around 11:45 PM so it's still very fresh in her mind.

That is so scary - it is going to impact her for quite some time - she might want to talk to someone about it.

Now I'm worried DH won't make it back in time. I don't even know what to think... do I go? do I call DCL and pray that they'll understand about stupid gov't bureaucracy? AUGH... I don't want to go alone.......... it's been too long since I saw my DH IYKWIM. Grrrrrr.

Hi Joe, I hate to even have to suggest, but you might want to have people PM to get her email instead of posting it here....I have hear that there are these "spam spiders" that pick up emails off of boards By the way welcome!

Yeah, I don't use mine either but do know that function. I never remember to change my phone before I turn it off anyway.

We leave Monday evening our time, which is early Monday mornig Florida time. Arrive in Orlando Tuesday evening .
Kids had their last day of school today so now I know it is really close. I feel like this at the moment .

those of you that purchased it.. did you ensure your trip cost to WDW also? I did our cruise and the flight. Do I really need to add any other cost in?

We often go during this time of the year and never bought insurance. Don't get me wrong it has poured but thats what those great mickey ponchos are for.

Thanks. We will be in the French Quarter. Dave and I stayed there on our honeymoon and loved it and for one reason or another never made it back there with the kids until now.
They share busses, etc. so maybe we will see you around (of course we will not have our lanyards yet so I would have no way to know it was you )

Maureen, I shipped my packages UPS ground on Monday and was so excited to see all my packages made it to their destination (Pop Century and the warehouse for the ship) yesterday! Again, it's just more validation that it's real! I leave for the airport in 25 hours, and it still doesn't feel real!

Okay, Nette and Katie...we'll be pulling to get your men safe in your arms!! So many reminders this week that life is good in the darkness of Dublin, Ohio!

Thanks again everyone for trying to calm me down! I'm really not very stressed about the vacation part. I was well organized and had things nearly all together last weekend. There are still a few small things to gather up, but no worries there.

My stress has been more work-related and the impact of having a now 6 day power outage on getting stuff taken care of at home and work with limited resources. You know...you need to leave if at all possible at 5:00 (which hasn't happened once this week) because the sun goes down by 8:00, traffic has been HORRIBLE this week going home (literally double and even once 3 times as long of a commute than normal, so now it's 7:00 by the time I reach home), and once it's too dark to be extremely productive at home, you can't log into work to get comfortable with that! UGH! Again....this week has simply been an inconvenience....it could be SOOOOO much worse. I just HATE leaving work crap behind for others to pick up after me! I will feel sooooo much better when I finally just let this all go later this afternoon!

Geez, as of today I can actually say that I leave for vacation not next Friday or two weeks from Friday, but on FRIDAY!!!
