I'm a bit biased, because I am claustrophobic and cannot do the inside stateroom with no verandah. So I would say that YES the upgrade is worth the price!! So it really depends on if YOU care about the verandah. We love waking up with the sunlight, being able to watch the ocean in the mornings, & hearing the waves. But for some, they don't spend much time in their rooms and paying extra for a place just to sleep isn't worth the extra. That's my two cents! :teacher:

I'm more concerned with if this particular price is a good deal. We already know that it'll be So much better with the veranda.

We're all doin' it!

The Single Digit Dance!

I thought of that first thing this morning!!!!!! It's only 48 hours for me now!!!!

Elliott update:

infection now causing sever pain....codin takin the edge off. *sigh* Currently weare sitting up in my bed with him dozing on me (yep typing one handed)

Can you ask about the numbing drops for the ear? They really work, and FAST. At least then he wouldn't be in pain... poor kid. :(

Yeah ... dd just told me her ear hurts. Birthday party on Saturday .....

Yep, we're going to the dr for earache today too. It's probably just sinus pressure, but I sure don't want to fly with a kid with achy ears.

Guests who request a Wine Steward to open and serve a bottle of champagne, wine or liquor that has been brought onboard will be charged a corking fee of $15.00 per bottle.

So how much do you think it costs to get them to open a BOX of wine? :rotfl:

For those of you still up...I just saw a couples massage  appointment open for Castaway Cay Cabanas on Sunday at 1pm....though this will cost $278 for 50 minutes...worth it????

Hrm... we opted not to do the cabana massage this trip... we did it a couple of years ago, and while it was private and cool, and the breeze off the ocean was nice, it just wasn't worth the extra $$. (Plus I got a masseuse that had a cold and was blowing her nose constantly... ick!)

Also, how does the GTY system work now that we've all got our cruise documents?? Do we just find out our room when we get on board? Will our luggage go to the right place since the tags came with our original room number info? Is it too late to really be doing this?

HELP!!

Thanks in advance!

DU told me that we just need to alter our luggage tags. They told me to cross out the cat 7 and put cat 5, and if we find out our room numbers to add those as well... However, there is NO cat 7 on the tags... but there are lots of bar codes, and our ressie number. I suspect they scan the tags, and just "magic"ally  know where to send them.... They also told me I'd need to print my docs off the website, since the ones we got are now wrong.

I don't 'think it's too late to do this... I mean, if you can do it at port, then a week before that is not too late. I'd do it now if you REALLY want it. It might not be available when you check in.

Break down the price per person... maybe that will make it easier to decide if it's worth it... $790 is a fair chunk of change. :)

Hey All...

Well we're doing the less than 24 hour dance! :) (In fact we will be leaving our house in exactly 18 hours and 15 minutes :thumbsup2 )

Re: upgrading to a Cat 7....yes that's worth the price.....but I'll admit I haven't compared it to anything...and that I'm biased. I believe a Verandah is worth ANY price just about. Our first 2 cruises we didn't have verandahs and then on our third we decided to splurge and buy an upgrade at the port....and now once you've gone Verandah (navigator's or otherwise) you never go back!!

Castaway Cay Cabana massages....Jason and I ALWAYS do it. We have never been bothered by outside noise...you might hear a little talking but it's muffled by the wind and the waves....and it's so relaxing. We love it....that and the couple's choice spa villas onboard with the personal jaccuzzi's! We have both booked on this trip!

Tried a search, but didn't come up with anything useful.

Is anyone doing the Rays, Reef and Rum trip through Nativeway?

My family is going on the RRR tour with Nativeway. I just booked it a couple of days ago.

I have the Palo room for dinner on Friday night at 6pm. A nice way to end our cruise. I have 15 seats.

TVEPFOX takes 2.

The Panman Man, 2goofy2luv, Magic3forme & jjgarv expressed an interest through pm's. I'm sure there are more of you. Help me figure this out... how to hand out the other 13 seats?!

I'd say first come first serve is fair...

Hi Everyone!

I don't mean to interrupt your conversations, but I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Dorothy, and I'm a first-timer who is traveling with Anthony, my husband, and Juliana and Taylor, our 12-year-old twin daughters. I'm also traveling with Charlie (aka Videoman), which is how I found you all here. In fact, Charlie and Barbara have been fabulous to us; they have planned everything for us. I think the only thing we did on our own was get our passports! We wouldn't have a clue if it weren't for them. Having said that, I see that many of you have some interesting info and great advice to offer, too. We are all really excited, but I am getting nervous about the prep and packing as I am not the most organized person . . .

Anyway, all of you sound so fun and friendly. I am really looking forward to meeting all of you. I will be the one with the long, curly, (I think it will be more like frizzy there) red hair with a drink in her hand following Charlie and Barbara around the ship (or, Charlie, should I say to the bar?).

Looking forward to seeing you,
Dorothy

Welcome Dorothy and family!! :welcome:

UPDATE:

We upgraded!!! It was actually only $720 more, I know, not much difference, either way a good chunk of change!
We are currently in a Cat 7 GTY. Anyone know when I might find out my room number? Once I do I'll have to like Erik know! Hopefully I'll run into him at the port though since we've scheduled the 10 am shuttle from the Radisson.

Welcome!!!!!

I can relate to the frizzy hair! I have very frizzy hair too! Lots of hairspray will hopefully prevent too much frizzy hair for me that day! :)

Kimberly ... do you have power yet???

I just called AEP. There's a new ETA! Yea...don't jump for joy. It's now been changed from Sunday evening to noon on Monday.

On my way to work this morning, I saw a caravan of electric trucks driving southbound into the city. I noticed a Canadian flag sticker on the side of one of them. When I got to work, I looked them up on-line, and sure enough, they are from Ontario Canada. GOD LOVE THEM AND EVERYONE ELSE WHO'S GONE AWAY FROM THEIR FAMILIES, FRIENDS, AND HOMES TO HELP US OUT!

Dorothy!!! It's so great to hear from you!! I knew your screen name looked familiar! We've come to love Charlie, too! So lucky for you, since you're associated to him, we will not hold it against you! :grouphug:

Don't hesitate to bother us too if we can help ease your worries! I'm thrilled we'll get to meet you as well! If you can, try to come to the DIS meets at 3:00 on Saturday!
