Here is an ODD request I know. Do any of you who live near port (not flying) think you may be in a book store between September 20 and sail date? There is a book Marika has been anxiously waiting to come out and it comes out on the 20th (day AFTER we leave). I would LOVE to surprise her with it on the ship but do not see how I could get it. IF anyone would be going by a book store anyway (I would NOT want any of you to make a special trip) and would be willing to pick something up for me then please PM me. Of course, I will pay you for it when we get it from you (or mail you a check before we leave).

Let me know if that falls through or something. I KNOW that I have to go to the bookstore the week before we leave. My sons won't POSSIBLY let us leave town without 50 books going with us ....

Almost thought we were going to have a big disappointment. Last night my mother who already wheel chair bound and uses a walker fell in her room. Here we are 2 weeks away and they (my parents) were going to have to cancel. We went to ER this morning and luckily it just a sprain. She does have to stay off it for at least a week. The part we were worried about is that even though she's in a wheel chair, she does walk with the walker to get to her seat on the plane. I hope nothing else happens in the next 2 weeks.

Yikes!!! I'm so sorry to hear that she was hurt, but so glad it wasn't bad.

Hi everyone! I can't believe we leave in 6 days! I have so much to do before we leave! Ack!!!!

Today is my 5 year anniversary at the Disney Store! Actually, I've been at my store for over 9 years but because I left and worked at WDW, I lost that time. Last night when I got to work, I found a card, a little figurine of Donald, and brownies to celebrate my anniversary! It was so nice!!!!

Ah! That's SO cool!!!!!




All of my door magnets are done. I finished middle child's pirate shirt. I have almost all the FE things finished and fixed - still need to put on tags and room numbers. Now, I have to focus on the birthday party. As soon as that's over ..... PACKING!!!!!!!! Yippeeeeeeeeeee!

Oh my goodness I got so much done today I'm way happy. I have 2 boxes ready to ship down to WDW (one with FE stuff in it) and I finally finished my Fish Extender I'm really happy with it. I hand pieced the pirate ship applique and bejeweled it to add a wee bit of sparkle to it

I am mostly a lurker, but I wanted to say thanks for all of the hard work that so many of you have put into the preparation for this cruise, from organizing the group brunch and DIS meet to fish extenders and stats. You are enriching so many other people's cruises. You are an amazing bunch, and DH, DD, and I can't wait to meet you all onboard. My little Emily (almost 5) is so excited to meet her "new friends." If there is anything that I can do to help with last minute coordination of events, please let me know.

It looks like our Galveston/Houston friends are in for some serious trouble with Ike. We are in the DFW area. If you are visiting town & need anything, please PM me. I would put my cell number here, but I'm afraid that's not smart.

They've cancelled Jessie's volleyball tournament for tomorrow because if Ike My understanding is that, here, we're getting rain. Still not sure why they cancelled her stuff.

BUT-if you have family members that have come to DFW for safety, feel free to PM me as well. I want to help if someone needs it!

I drove home in 35-50 mph winds. there are trees down everywhere.
Dh is stuck in DC due to the winds.

I believe that is what the Trip insurance is for... Although, it may only be if THEY cancel...

Soooo Sorry you and your family/friends have to deal with IKE and all the aftermath as well..

I do not know when we are able to go back home...my daughter has to miss at least one or two weeks of school. therefore, we really will not be able to go on this trip because that will mean she has to miss additional time from school. I hoping we can go home soon though. My brother and his wife are nice and all...but there is nothing like good ole home sweet home...

I'm getting ready to pack my fish extender stuff up tomorrow morning and was just doing a double check. Does anyone else have a total for everyone participating in the FE fun? I have 176 down including the late arrivals, but I want to make sure my number is right. I should maybe just pack a few extra in case it is off, but if anyone else counted I would love to know what your count was. My table is covered in FE fun right now!!!

I would count again but thats never a good thing ask kimberly.. my count is always off lol

'record box' as in what one would pack office records in for storage? (about the size of a case of paper)

or heck...does someone just have the dang dimensions?

22oz Beer mug can be filled with pre made mix drinks
Pitchers of certain drinks available at Rockin D Bar
Beware of the souvenir glass
Free martinins at Art Auction
Free Drinks at Captains Reception
Ask for Drink specials outside of Drink of Day at bars
Wine package in some cases not Cost effective. (Especially if you only drink white)
Always buy the bottle. FatCat will finish it.
You can have the bottle corked and brought to your table the next day by your server or you can take it back to your room with you.
Drink of the Day always a good deal
I find going to the BAR you seem to get a better pour
Try the Tropical Depression if you want to get %@#%@ up on a single drink
Tastings are always a good deal. Sit next to Dis'ers who cannot finish theirs
Liquor brought on board pre-cruise or from Ports always fun.
When you buy liquor on board you get it the last day. Woo-HOO gotta finish that opened bottle
Ask your room steward for the Large container of ICE to cool down your carry ons.
Place a zip loc bag of ice in cooling box to make the stuff colder

Me, Joe (37), DW Danielle (38), DD Tesa (14) and DD Shayln (8) will be taking our 4th Disney Cruise (3rd on Magic). We now have a hectic two weeks to get everything ready. 1st, no question is a stupid question! 2nd, yes I suggest at this late in the game printing and making them yourselves as apposed to getting them made online!

We recently (last week)....yes three weeks to prepare...... booked our trip. We live in Orlando and go to PC often....we are excited to be on the Disney ship instead of waving good buy to it. I found alot of great information and would like more info on things you are going to 'get signed'. I have three kiddies, DD turning six on our return date, DS 3, DS almost 2. I would like to surprise them with somthing signed but hoped some of you had other ideas besides pillowcases. Thanks for sharing!

dont know if you knew the pillowcases are one per child, not one for the whole cabin.
Many do photo mats too. or scrapbook pages.

My kids love their pillowcases.
