I think at this point a panama canal crossing would be the only one we would book, I already told dh if we have to sell a kid to afford it I would do it I would make money and have one less kid to pay for Just kidding, but I really want to go thru the canal

That could possibly happen in 2011 when the new ship starts sailing...they'll probably take one of the existing ships over to CA.

We just had a freaky car accident. We were backing out of a parking space in a lot in Manalapan NJ and the front bumper caught on the stand alone concrete on the ground and pulled off the entire front bumper of our 2000 Nissan Altima. Scared the H__L out of us. No one was hurt, but we filed a police report, and we had to tie up the bumper so we could get the car home.

I bet that's why I missed them: I was looking in the T-shirt area only, and completely skipped the Halloween shirts area. Hmmm......field trip to Target tomorrow!

In other news, I got something exciting in the mail today: a book! A book that I am a featured author in! My first book!!!!!!! I don't get any royalties from it, so I hope it's ok if I talk about it here. Anyhow, it's a book or inspirational pet stories, and a portion of the proceeds goes to animal charity. I'm very excited. If anyone is interested, I'll post more info. Or you can PM me. I swear, I don't get any kickbacks from it, I already got paid a year ago when I submitted the story

Is this from the port? I am using Budget and picking up at the airport Friday morning for a day. The base rate was $43 for a full sice car. $52.87 with tax and everything. If there is a better deal that would be awesome!

I had two questions...do you think they will broadcast the Red Sox vs Yankees game on the Dumbotron or in one of the bars? They are scheduled to play on Saturday and Sunday while we are on the cruise. We are big Red Sox fans so it would be great to watch the game (on the Dumbotron would be awesome). Are there any other Red Sox fans in the group?

You cant book the car for more than 24 hours, then the rate goes up, if you pick it up at 9am Fri you would need a return time of 9am Sat... this should work for you

We want to arrive at the crack of dawn and stalk the port employees, but that's not going to happen. We're taking the DCL bus from POR. It normally arrives around 1:00. The best part, no crowds, just walk on board!

I'm getting stressed! Need to PACK!! We leave one week from Monday.

What's everyone planning on buying? I really want diamond earrings. If anyone wants to join me for jewelry shopping we'll get a better deal the more we buy. In Saint Marten we racked up 52k in merchandise. When we got done the guy came down to 12k. Not bad. That was for 4 people and a big pile of bling!

Breeders aren't automatically bad. Depends on how they go about things. Responsible breeders, especially those who actually show to ensure their animals are in keeping w/the breed standard, are just fine. That way they are less likely to breed animals that should NOT reproduce (tempermant, genetic disorders, etc.). Its the folks who won't fix their animals to get 'just one litter' out of them that really annoy me.

Thanks for this....anytime I mention that my mom is a breeder I always get several people who attack. Mom is very careful and is the only breeder in this area who passed her very first AKA surprise inspection without having to make any changes. Her kennel is very small and she has been known to turn a buyer away because they didn't meet her requirements.

With that being said...until this last puppy, we've always had pound puppies.

The love bugs look discusting! Thank you for the info about the car paint. We will have to be sure and have the car washed before we leave it at the port. Do you think it would help to wax the car good before we leave home? I'm sure Doug won't mind if I add that to his list. . .

Waxing is a MUST...the thicker on the front the better. There are some people in this area have been known to put vasaline on the front of their cars then wash it of every day to help with them as well.

Oh man....can you talk to my hubby please? I LOVE blue topaz and am always on the hunt for those.....but I don't mind any sort of bling...and I'm on a mission. I have a birthday present to get for my mom and would like to accomplish most of my Christmas shopping while on vacation.

It's 7:55 I'm running a little behind this morning! Ike's not doing much, but he is gaining strength. Texas is evacuating some people with special medical needs in the path of Ike.

Ike could hit Saturday morning as a category 3 storm. Remember, the word hit means, the eye comes ashore. The rain and winds will be felt way before that. Right now Ike is a category 1 storm look for him to move to a 2 possibly today.

Knock on wood... the open Atlantic is all clear!

The screen shots show the Disney Magic in "Oslo" (correction from my original post) starting 15JUN10 and then every 12 days into August.

We booked and canceled this years EB Panama Cruise. Would still like to do it with a trip to DL before and WDW after. There is also a thread about DCL going to Alaska! They have applied for a permit to one of the most sought after ports. No one knows when it will be but I guess not before the new ships are complete. Don't know what I want to do. Lois

I hear ya...it's 48 here. BRRRRRR. I left windows open overnight. I was freezing when I woke up. It will be back up to 82 today.

The snow has to start somewhere, so you can take the trophy as far as I'm concerned.

I have to say I'm getting worried that there is nothing out there now and the ocean is going to stir up in 1 to 2 weeks that we'll have to dodge.
