We were out and about until late this evening today. So I get home and head to the mailbox and in the dark, I pull out this large 9"x12" envelope that is pretty thick.
"Hmmm...what did I order that's in this envelope" I thought to myself. Then I thought maybe it was a prospectus....yeah...those are this size and feel heavy like this did. I turn around so some light hits it. "Oh wait! I know that butter-colored envelope. Wow! There's Mickey's head!"
Being I'm a first time guest on DCL, this was an unexpected surprise to get in the mail!!I received our "Travel Kit", which is a lovely little ship and shore vacation book along with a short letter that reminds me of the upcoming dates for booking excursions and spa appointments as well the acknowledgement that September 27 is our vacation start date, saying "Horray! Your vacation starts toda. Paradise awaits."

Looking inside, I found yet another little treasure that I've been begging people on the boards to post pictures of. They have GOOD pictures of all the DCL exclusive gifts that you can find on DCL's .com site.
I tell ya...the little things in life that put a smile on our face.......priceless!![]()
I've been on several cruises and never got any "travel kit" sent to me. I do get booklet from my TA that lists the excursions a Disney gifts???What's a travel kit![]()

That sounds like perhaps it's the same thing. Mine, however, came directly from DCL, not my TA.
In addition to the cover letter, there's brown file pocket that states on the outside "My Cruise Travel Kit". Then inside this pocket is a booklet named "Ship and Shore Vacation Guides". Inside there are mini-booklets bounded together by an elastic string. These mini-booklets include the following sections:
Is that what you're familiar with?
- Shore Excursions/Special Cruises
- Quick Tips for Smooth Sailing
- Gifts
- Setting Sail - Disney Magic
- Vacation Protection Guide
- Formalwear
Here's a picture.

Wah I want one too!! Does everyone get one of those suckers. I need more information to read and pour over before the cruise.Videoman, sounds like you know how to throw a party! You need some good music to go with that!
Drea, regarding the PassPorter, I did the same thing as you. I went to the library, read it front to back, then ordered my own before I even made it back to the library to return it. Let me give you a little tip if you do decide to make the purchase...using the book you got from the library, you can use it as a reference to get the repeating customer discount. Basically you register the book you have in hand by answering a question like "What's the last word on page ###?"
Speaking of making lists, I've been doing the same. I have only 14 weekends remaining (not including this weeked) before I leave.Unbelievable!! So by the time I subtract the weekends that there is no way I'll find time to work on cruise planning execution, I know I need to be on the ball now! With that said.......
Has anyone tried making a CafePress order lately? You may recall that after we got the logo finalized in Sept, I made several purchases in October. The ladies cap sleeve t-shirts were unexpectedly junior sizing, so they were wayyyy too small. So today, I went on-line to order our embarkation day shirts, but found that the logo that I had saved in my account has been marked as "Image cannot be used" due to licensing issues, which would be because of the Mickey Head. I remember we all held our breath when we first tried. So before I remove that image and make an attempt to upload it again and cross my fingers that the reviewer won't reject it, I thought I would check to see if anyone has recently been successful.
I also have t-shirts to make that without question would be a licensing violation that will use images from some DISers in the Creative DISigns Forum. I've only created t-shirts one other time for a vacation trip to Kiawah Island for a group of friends, and after the first washing, they looked HORRIBLE. I was soooo disappointed. So if you've had success with making your own iron-on transfers and the quality was good, I would love to know what brand of transfer paper you used. I think we used Hanes' own brand, so I don't want to use it again. Has anyone heard of CLEARSOFT INKJET PAPER? It sounds like it's good, but ya never know.
Thanks!
I want one.
*sniff*

Erica, no joke, I slowly scrolled down the picture and whined (yes, whined), "I want one of those..."
Then I saw what you wrote above and cracked up!![]()
Guess we'll just have to be good girls and wait our turn...![]()

[Okay...that was bad, especially since my real world last name starts with "A", so I am kinda accustomed to being toward the top of the list.]
LMAO ok its been a really long day for me cuz I was going to say add ANEWMAC (got ours today)... then i went wait.. thats not my last name..![]()
all I have to say is E owes me BIG time 10-10yr olds at Mulligans screams rantintg and running around.. =1 tired mommy and grandma. Mom sayd next yr E does this we go to the spa...Its only 9pm and Im ready for bed LOL
I've gotten that booklet for my Wonder trips but I haven't seen anything yet for this cruise. However, I realized as I made my payment that they had my old address. I changed it on my profile but the reservation address still shows my old address. I'm sure if mine is in the mail, it's going to take a little longer until the post office forwards it.
Does anyone know if I can update that in the system or do I have to call?
But I did come across a new DCL planning video inside a travel "magazine" (bulk mail, so it was actually an advertisement) and on sloooooow Saturday mornings we all watched it on the computer while we worked!
I think I converted at least one co-worker from the S.S. Booze & Gamble cruise line....

No. I'm not bailing to cruise in October, I'm just trying to make new friends who might be able to help us with our Costa Maya School Supply mission.
Magic Me,
You should call. I am pretty sure they are sent out standard (bulk) mail.... If they are standard mail, then it won't be forwarded to you....it will just be (gasp!) thrown away (well, recycled actually) at the post office......
, how can I tell? The label says "Presorted Standard" with "Time Sensitive Material" written on it. Does the simple reference to "Standard" identify it as Bulk Mail?Oh our resident postal employee, how can I tell? The label says "Presorted Standard" with "Time Sensitive Material" written on it. Does the simple reference to "Standard" identify it as Bulk Mail?
