Awesome pics Tiffany! I am so excited now. We are going in Oct. for my brothers wedding. Did you stay in Maui? I can't remember where you said you stayed. Did you have to do a tour of the lava or was that on your own?

Here is a slide show from Hawaii - I hope this works I've never done this before! (click on picture)

Tiffany, wonderful photos! Thank you for sharing, and I particularly enjoyed seeing Stanly on vacation! :rotfl:

Tiffany, That is so funny that your brought Flat Stanley with you! My Aunt teaches 2nd grade and when my sister and her daughter went to Europe for three weeks she made them bring Flat Staney to take pictures of him in all the different countries they visited so she could show them to her class! Her daughter tried leaving him behind a few times.......I didn't realize others did that too!

Great pictures. What kind of camera did you use to get those underwater shots? Looks like you had a great time!

Happy Monday morning to you all.
Marika and I survived camporee!:yay: It was lots of fun and the weather was perfect on Saturday (it did rain Friday night)--the first camporee we have ever been to where it did not rain all weekend:woohoo:
Meanwhile Dave (the fly supervisor) and Rio survived the installation of the fly rigging and training with said rigging for Peter Pan. Dave put in over 40 hours on that in three days (took some vacation days to work on it) and poor Rio was at the theatre helping when able and staying out of the way when not for 14 hours on Saturday:eek: From yesterday's rehearsal I have to say it all came out beautifully and will be worth the effort.
On a funny note: the Fly by Foy representative who came out to set up the rigging and train our team flew the pig in the movie College Road Trip. Rio was highly amused by this:rotfl2:
Marika was also asked by the stage manager to be on the running crew (moving set pieces and props between scenes). He wanted her because she is so responsible and reliable:) She is pretty honored by this--it is unheard of in our group to tap a kid for this.
Jen--Tommorrow is the BIG day, eh? I can't wait! I have to go pick up the crocodile costume in Massachusettes tomorrow so I may not see the photos right away (between driving and rehearsal) but I will be checking when I can.

Okay, here is a DISNEY question of the week:

What is your favourite WDW ride, show or attraction?

Me: Festival of the Lion King. I love, love, love that show. I must have seen it several dozen times, but I still get all giddy as the opening music starts up every single time:hippie:

Dave: Fantasmic. I think he would pay gate price at Hollywood Studios just to see Fantasmic if he had to. The kids call it the "drench show" becuase he has made us wait in the pouring rain to see it so often (they will run it in a donwpour so long as there is no lightening!)

Marika: Mission Space. That crazy kid will ride the "real" version over and over and over again--all alone. She is looking forward to meeting up with Erik and Jason at EPCOT so she can ride it with Jason.

Rio: Stiche Great Escape:confused3 My apologies to anyone else who likes this ride, but the rest of us really do not get this. Sometimes we think he likes it simply because no one else does and it gives him somehting to drag us on:rotfl: He had several runners up: Soarin', Haunted Mansion, TTA, Jammitors and Buzz Lightyear were all in the running. He does want it noted that if TARZAN ROCKS were still showing that would have been his top choice.

What is your favourite WDW ride, show or attraction?

Maureen - Soarin (which is amazing because I am scared of heights!!)

Joe - Aerosmith rock and roller coaster one of the few rides I ever remember him coming back from and the first words from his mouth were " That was Awesome"!

Maureen

Favorite Disney ride:

Me: The "vegetable" ride in the Land at EPCOT. That one where you ride through the green house in a boat. How lame am I?

Hubby: I'll have to ask him...I would guess it's Rockin' Roller Coaster before they changed the music to a quieter version

Reese: Tower of Terror & It's A Small World (can a 4 year old have such two opposite favorites????)

favorite rides:

Me: rock n roll coaster
Dh: same
DD: rock n or tower of terror
DD: space mountain
DS: buzz lightyear.

our family family ride is at Magic Kingdom, I cant think of the name of it..you take an escalator up to it, and then you ride through SM and Buzz. That is our chill out ride. :) Peter Pan is the other family favorite.

I think its call "tomorrowland transit authority" or People rider, I like that ride also, Peter Pan is also a MUST DO for our family

Favorite Rides/Show

Me: Mickeys Philharmagic, I just love that show, but my ride would be Expeditiom Everest

Dh: Have to ask him

DD: Expedition EVerest

DS: Tower of Terror or Peter Pan, sounds like Reese's answers:rotfl:

Me: Expedition Everest & Tower of Terror :scared1:

DH: Expedition Everest & Pirates pirate:

DD: E. E. & Splash Mountain

DS: He has yet to take his first trip to DW :sad1:

I find this week's question nearly as impossible as LAST week's!! I would even have a hard time identifying my favorite thing in each PARK...much less one favorite thing for all of WDW!

Here's my top 10 (not in order....and it was actually REALLY tough to even get it down to THIS list!!! :lmao:):
1.) Kilaminjaro Safaris
2.) Festival of the Lion King
3.) Tower of Terror
4.) Wishes
5.) Fantasmic
6.) Crush-n-Gusher
7.) DisneyQuest
8.) Soarin'
9.) Expedition Everest
10.) Mickey's Philharmagic

Jason's list is very similar to mine except for he would find somewhere to fit in Mission Space because he loves that giant puke machine! :rotfl:

Okay, great question - mine is Kilaminjaro Safari
Abby and Darrell are Expedition Everest. We love all the rides, but if we had to ride just ONE, that is it!

Me: Buzz! But I like the people mover too!

Doug: ? I'll have to ask him.

Megan: It's a Small World

Grady: ? I'll have to ask him when he gets home, but I'm sure it will be a toss up of Kilaminjaro Safari or the raft ride at AK.

Our families favorite show is the new Finding Nemo show!

Thanks for all the nice comments about my Hawaii pictures! Honestly it was only a small number of pictures. Photobucket only let me show 30 pictures of the 400+ pictures I took. :scared1:

Tiffany, sorry for the delay, but welcome back! (or not!!) :rotfl2:

Did the "BunnyPod" get any good use? I'm still waiting for a reason to use mine.

You are such a good mom!! I love it that you took Stanly on vacation with you! What a wonderful way to connect Grady to you and letting him know he was with you in spirit all the time. It's also pretty funny! I'm tucking that idea away!

I didn't use the Bunnypod! It would have come in handy a few times, but I couldn't remember to put it in my bag each day. Bummer! I'll have to try again at WDW in Sept.

Bringing Grady's Stanly with me was just a whim. He finished his project and at school months ago and it was sent home. He normally lives on my bulletin board in my sewing room. I though it would be fun to take him with me. He took the pictures to his teacher and she got a kick out of that too. I'm sure Megan will do a Flat Stanly project in the next few years - I'll have to plan a cool "No kids" trip to take hers with me too. :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:

We did everything on our own except Laura's Step-Mom went with us to the volcano and the Luau was at one of the local hotels. We stayed in Kona at Laura's condo and used her parents car (they had 2, but walked most places). The only other Hawaiian Island I've been on was Ohau, but that was just in the airport to get to the Big Island. :rotfl:

To answer the question about my underwater camera - It's the cheapest underwater camera that I could find that still had a decent rating. I bought a Fujifilm FinePix A500 on Ebay and an underwater housing for it - I think I got that on Ebay too. The camera works great, but it's hard to see what I'm taking pictures of while underwater, so I tend to take a lot and hope for some good ones. The one of the turtle I was actually standing in about 3 feet of water and holding the camera under water aimed at the turtle. I took about 15 different shots, but got about 5 or 6 good ones!

I didn't go into any history before I put the slideshow on, but I'm the short one. Laura is the blonde and Fran has dark hair. We've been friends since elementary school (I've known Fran since 1st grade and Laura since 5th Grade). We had a great time together. They both live near each other in the Portland, OR area, but I moved to the other side of the country to NC about 12 years ago. I try to visit once a year, but with Hawaii I'll have to wait to see them again in OR until the summer of 09. The great thing is we're planning a road trip to LA to see Laura's brother and go to Disneyland!

We'll I've got to get some work done and a few things in the mail!

Have a great day everyone!

Tiffany

OK,,,I asked Jeff and he said his favorite ride is Haunted Mansion, and Tower of Terror, and Rockin Roller Coaster

And the people mover in Tomorrowland...Reese calls that the Tom Morrow ride. You know, that part where they say "Paging Mr. Morrow. Mr. Tom Morrow. " So we always say "let's ride Tom Morrow"...and that's our chill out ride too. We LOVE LOVE LOVE that ride.

Always break out a little snack while riding...I often wish I could ride for a few hours and sleep on it! :)

Denise - I'm glad to hear Rachel is home and doing better!

I'm only a few states away from PA in NC! I've been there once with a friend from Beaver Falls!

Tiffany, those are awesome pictures! I loved the coffee company's name, it made me snort! So, you WENT to Kona, and I ATE at the KONA CAFE last week. Coincedence?

Okay, here is a DISNEY question of the week:

What is your favourite WDW ride, show or attraction?

Me: A toss-up between Kilamanjaro Safari and the Tomorrowland Transit Authority. I guess I like to ride along and look at things? KJ is my fave because I love the animals, and you get so much bang for your buck. And TTA is a nostalgic favorite - my Dad used to take me on it every time we went to Magic Kingdom when I was little. I ALWAYS have to go on it when we go.

Lionel: could not narrow it down, so he picked Hunchback of Notre Dame, Festival of the Lion King, Everest and Pirates of the Caribbean.

Wait. I don't suppose the Disney Wonder / Magic counts as a ride? :rolleyes1

Just wanted to let you all know that I am attempting my first ever Pre-trip report and TR for this cruise :scared1: Just one more thing to pass the time until our cruise :surfweb: I also want to pay it forward, since I have learned so much on these boards. :flower3:

If you are going to the MNSSHP on the night before the cruise and you have your tickets, take a close look at them. Two of ours (the child tickets) were printed incorrectly. On the back just below the UPC it says "Valid Spetember 26, 2008 only". But then at the very bottom it says "Vaild 9/19/2008 only". I called the number on the letter that came with the tickets and they explained that some of the tickets were mis-printed but that the UPC is correct and will scan properly on September 26 and get us all into the party. However, if you are not comfortable with haveing tickets that are wrong they will reissue. I think you would have to send the bad ones back. Not sure what we are going to do. I would hate to get there that night and have to leave the kids at the front gate because they won't let them in LOL.

Yay Arin! Me too! :goodvibes
We'll have to link to each other. I guess that means I should start mine. Hmm. Sometimes this week, perhaps.
