Wow - I checked at 10 and nothing. Glad to see they've opened them up. My price is at about $240. What do you think the chances of getting a ding are? I don't think dings would come through until much closer and by that time it could be a lot more $$.

Sounds like the plans are all coming together for people.

Outside of the 90 Day on board reservation stuff I guess I am left with pre-night hotel, trip insurance and ground transportation.

Oh yeah. Packing.

Still weighing my options.

Last two times we stayed at country inn and suites.
Was thinking of doing the Marriot this year if I can get a good rate.

The baggage allowance thing throws my rental car strategy into a bit of flux.(Car Seats) Have to think about that some more. I am staying until Sunday the 5th now as well.

:cool1:

Hadley, are you flying out of Manchester too? We are flying out on Wed 9/24 and back on Sat 10/4. Not sure if you are flying in for a pre cruise stay but we might be on the flight home together. Did you book the 1:15pm flight home on Saturday?

Cheryl

Yeah to all those who booked their flights:cool1: Our plan was to wait unitl Southwest release their dates but the $55 back on October 6 got us and with an extra day to do MNSSHP to boot!

I did check southwest and our flights would have been $105 each way, we got $79 down and $55 home on airtran, and their extra bag is $10, so I am happy

Doesnt booking flights make this cruise seem more real? It does to me, WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

YIPPEE!! :cool1: Hey rkandmjsmommy - thanks!!! I've been checking Airtran off and on and didn't see anything great but decided to check one more time (based on your post) before booking anything on SW. I got $79 down and $55 back!!!! With taxes it comes to $155 round trip!!!! All in all - much better than I had been seeing!

MagicMe, Glad I could help, what times and dates are your flights? Maybe we are on together!

rkandmjsmommy - we're leaving on Friday 26SEP at 3:06PM arriving in MCO at 5:27PM and flying home on Saturday, 04OCT at 8:30PM arriving in PHL at 10:47PM.

Hi guys,
It's great to see everyone is getting their plane tickets together. We got SW for $196 round trip per person from El Paso. We live in NM and El Paso is closest airport. Just wanted to let you know you can use the code DING15 and receive an extra 15% off. Ours went from $230 to $196. Total for our family of 4 with taxes and fees was $916. Every little bit of savings helps. Hope someone can use it.

Thanks to the peer pressure  I went ahead and turned in my credit card points for plane tickets... on Frontier... :headache: So, so far our tickets are $24/person. I had to choose between United (who actually has a worse reputation with me!) and Frontier for non-stop flights.

So, if the Frontier CEO is willin' and the creek don't rise, we'll be on the boat with you guys! :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

Got my flights with Southwest!!! Now it feels official. I have to call my TA on Monday and cancel my flights with Disney.

See you all soon.

Ken

Ready to book flights now that SW came out with fares. What time is the earliest you'd book for the flight home? We've never flown after a cruise, dh always drives.

Thanks.
Julie

Hey I was just bopping on to post that! It saved us $130 for the family--bringing the price down to $186 per person:woohoo:

Cheryl--I didn't realize you lived in our area. Yes, we fly in and out of MHT (love that airport!). We are not on the same flights though. We opted for the later flight (5:15) just because even though we have ALWAYS been off the ship very early I stress too much about the "just in case" stuff (we did get off of a Princess ship once really late when immigration did not clear us due to a mix up with some foreign passenger's passport). We are spending the entire week before the cruise in WDW and leave here on Friday the 19th. Maybe we can meet up somewhere for coffee or some such (or Coke I should say--I've never liked coffee) before the cruise.

No go ahead and book with Airtran. Jason and I always fly airtran to Orlando...we've had our flights for this trip for ages and we got a great deal, too. I'm pretty sure that airtran isn't going under or anything anytime soon....Jason's sister works for airtran and she hasn't said anything. (Sadly, however, she can't get us cheap(er) flights even though she works for them!)

OH ERIC you make me so happy I could hug you. (Remind me when we get on board I owe ya one :) :grouphug: )

Ok I have heard a few others say they are good to go also. So Im just going to wait for E to read my lil email and once he said ok click submit. (Ya I know I dont need the ok from him.. but dont want it to just be me that does it.. incase anything goes wrong.. he put his 2cents in and so its on him too.. I get no slack that way LMAO)

Thanks again.. ok so now i just need to book the pre and post hotel stays! :scared1: lol

We called back and got the Ding discount too...saved about $75!:thumbsup2

Hadley, you're on. I'll buy you a coke! :drinking1
We are in central Mass, about 20 miles north of Worcester so we can fly out of Logan or Manchester.. but we much prefer Manchester!
Where are you staying for your pre cruise? We are at the CR...probably going to MK on Thursday and Studios on Friday.

UGH! The price is right at $211/person. A year ago I was hoping for $190....HOWEVER, I apparently have my debit card to make the purchase at home!!!!!!! ....

I'm blaming Erik for not being able to book our flights earlier today! After getting home, I didn't see my PayPal Debit Card on the table beside my laptop. So I logged into my acct to see where I last used it and praying my acct wasn't depleted because I lost it!!! Well, the last transaction was for AIDS Rochester, the organization Erik and Jason are walking for to raise funds. So if the card wasn't in my purse nor on the table, it had to be in the cushions of the couch! :rotfl: Sure enough it was!!

....Just wanted to let you know you can use the code DING15 and receive an extra 15% off. ...

I just love you guys! :grouphug: I didn't know about the discount code. So thanks to Born2Cruz and Erik :rotfl2: , I was able to apply the discount when I booked our flights tonight! I would have paid $633, however the total ended up being $548 for the three of us!! :woohoo: THANK YOU!!!

Sooooo, being I was feeling so "official", I also decided to pay the remaining $322 balance on the cruise itself tonight as well!! Also, before I came home, I found a really nice snorkle ensemble at half off at Tuesday Morning. THEN, I arrive home and find my new compact tri-pod, named Gorillapod, at my doorstep (this is so cool)! It will go nicely with my brand new upgraded digital camera I purchased a couple of weeks ago! I am SO on this cruise now!

OHHHH i like that tripod. Ok what type of camera did you get. Ive been shopping around looking for a new one. the one i have is 5yrs old kodak and it was a great started digi cam. but I really need to upgrade the pics are not what I want them to be. Specially indoor far shots come out all dark and grainy. any tips yall have are more then welcome.

Congrats to everyone who is one step closer after booking flights today!! :goodvibes

.....Dave actaully has our cc # memorized so he never needs it for online bookings:lmao:

I can relate! I have my checking acct debit card number memorized, too!

....What time is the earliest you'd book for the flight home?...

Julie, I believe the official recommendation from DCL is no earlier than noon. I've read on the boards that many have taken earlier flights, but again, you never know if you get held up by customs, have transportation issues to the airport, and in your case as well as others, you have a crew of kids behind you to help get through the airport process. So imo, I wouldn't want the addeded stress of "am I going to miss our flight?", so I personally would go with their recommendation.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Sorry all I have been reading along here, but have pretty been busy as of late.

You guys are all so far ahead of me LOL. Airfare is still looking a little high here...no SWA :( Airtran wanted like $425 for flights and Sun Country does not fly on the dates I need during that time of year:headache: . So right now my flight is sitting at $303 on NWA.

I don't have hotel rooms booked yet, but I think I have my plan decided upon. I will fly in on Sunday Sept 21 and stay at CBR? on Wed 9/24 my mom will come down and we will have a few days to enjoy the world together. I'm hoping to get a car rental for around $200 or so for two weeks and if I can I have decided we will drive to port and pay for parking because I'm a rental car snob and my figuring is that a rental car option will be cheaper for us in the long run. Once we are off the ship:sad1: we will spend Saturday Oct 4 at the Magic Kingdom and do tea at the Grand Floridian then fly home on Sunday Oct 5.

THEN, I arrive home and find my new compact tri-pod, named Gorillapod, at my doorstep (this is so cool)! It will go nicely with my brand new upgraded digital camera I purchased a couple of weeks ago!

Kimberly I have a Gorillapod as well I just love it got it with the camera I got for Christmas. Congratulations on paying off your cruise :cool1: I haven't paid mine off yet I still need to figure out insurance what did you decide to do for that?
