Ok perhaps it is close enough to the sailing to throw our hats into the ring!

This will be our 17th Disney Cruise and looking forward to seeing the Magic come out of drydock renewed!

We hail from the BUCKEYE state-GO BUCKS!
We have 4 other people cruising with us (2 additional staterooms)
Staying at BWV before the cruise to get some park time in before the sailing.

Not sure what else to say, but looking forward to meeting everyone onbaord.

Have a great day!
Dan (and Scott)

Welcome!!! :cheer2:

I've posted a question on the appropriate forum, but would also love to know if any of you have taken this tour. I'm seriously considering it.

I have been wanting to do that one as well. I have done lots of the other ones and heard nothing, but great things about Backstage Magic.

GO BUCKS!!

It's great to hear all six of you are joining us! If you want to get "in-the-know", check out Post #6 to learn what we are all up to and major things we've been talking about. Just hop right on in and join us in chit-chat! Looking forward to getting to know all of you!

So Mansfield, huh? I grew up and graduated from Shelby! Small world we live in I tell ya! My grandmother lives in Ontario, and my mom lives in Lexington. They're both joining us on the cruise as well.

O-H-

....I was looking at that little tripod that was sent and that is awesome. The one that twists. How much is that? I went to the site and they are sold out. I didn't see a price.

Hmmm...I'm looking right now, and see availability of the gray or ones with fun colors. The pricing is listed as well. See if this page for the Joby Gorillapod gives you a different result.

There are different models based on if you have an SLR camera or the common home-user digital camera. I purchased "the original" without the packaging for $22, and the one with packaging is $25. Of course I then used the coupon code I mentioned a few posts back to get 15% off.

Also, if anyone's looking for the various applications of the Gorillapod, check out the gallery for each version of the tri-pod. Some very unusual ideas here! The idea of using it on the post of a horse on the merry-go-round for your video camera is a fabulous idea, for example!!! I also thought the ideas of putting it on your golf clubs, a cable wire fence, rock on a beach, or a post were also great points.

Welcome to the group. This should prove to be a very good cruise. I am looking forward to meeting you both. Lois (& Janet)

Welcome Dan and Scott!!

Do any of you travel with Southwest? I was looking on their website and they have something called "wanna get away" It looks like it's half the price of a reg. ticket. Is it cheaper just because you book it online? I just wanted to make sure I was reading that right.

I booked a flight for 4 of us with United a couple weeks ago and it was $1300.. Southwest is showing $700 which sounds WAY better. I don't think I can get my money back with United if I did that. Do you know how that works?

Thanks for the help. I don't fly much so I don't know how all this works.

LOL!

Oh man! You're making that commute everyday, and with the price of gas...oh my!! My brother used to live in Mansfield and commuted to Columbus for a couple of years. I don't know how it did it. For me, that's too much driving and sometimes scary travel in the winter. A job is a job though, right?

Come July, I will have lived in the Columbus area for 19 years! <gulp> So obviously I work here, too. I work at a corporation off of Polaris Parkway.

YIPPEE!! :cool1: Hey rkandmjsmommy - thanks!!! I've been checking Airtran off and on and didn't see anything great but decided to check one more time (based on your post) before booking anything on SW. I got $79 down and $55 back!!!! With taxes it comes to $155 round trip!!!! All in all - much better than I had been seeing!

You guys are good at the deals! I always thought it was more to book one way tickets? Oh man, I need to find a better deal then what we got for the 4 of us.. aughh..

Awesome! Thanks. Now it's working. Last night it was showing that they didn't have any available. So it works on any camera right? I think I am going to get one. Great idea.

Oh and Cheryl, where is Mass. do you live? We used to live in Chicopee. My son was born in Springfield.

Oh my...that is a big difference. If you purchased refundable tickets with United, you can get your money back. Non-refundable tickets are much lower in price and are the default when you search on-line. Take a look at your confirmation, and it will tell you. Now you MIGHT be able to apply that $1300 to a future flight for each of you, but if that's a possibility, they'll charge you for that option.

I've only flown SW once, and I've chosen to use them for this trip. You are correct that the "Wanna Get Away" fare is available only on-line. If you learn your United tickets are indeed refundable, don't forget to try out the DINK15 discount code to get another 15% off the Wanna Get Away fare.

GOOD LUCK!!

I agree...it is a great idea!

There is a standard sized female end at the bottom of your camera that the Gorillapod (or any tri-pod) will screw into. As you can see, they have 3 versions, but for point and shoot cameras, the "original" will work for you. The other 2 versions are for cameras with SLA lenses or for video cameras.

WOW, I worked off of Polaris for over a year. So care to share which corp it is? I worked down by Rockford Homes on Polaris (corner of Polaris and Gemini)
I know work off Wilson Bridge and High Streets.

Perhaps our paths have crossed???

It's possible! I am on Wilson Bridge Road turning north on Rt. 23 (High Street) every weekday on my way to or from work! I work for a financial institution. I'll PM you. :)

Hi everyone!

We paid off our cruise when the added fee for the Mexico ports came out. We figured the money was in the bank so we could collect interest on it instead of Disney, but the fee was more than we would earn in interest.

I was thinking about looking into flying down to Orlando instead of driving, but the price was $670.00 on SW for the 4 of us. :scared1: We still think we will drive. Then we won't have to worry about transfers or other things like that and we can head to the ship when we want to.
