Springtime Surprise 2026 (Apr 16-20)

What is the minimum distance you could get too and be ready for the challenge? This is my first challenge and stressing out over being ready for it. I had a training plan all set out and started when I rolled my ankle really bad three weeks ago. I haven’t been able to run since but started to walk again this week slowly. Trying to figure out how to re arrange my training plan now that I had to take time off. Hopefully to start doing some running in another week or so. I haven’t only been back to running for a year and was up to doing 10k distance. Trying not to over think it but want to complete my first challenge. Thanks for any advice.

I think if you can get back up to a 10K distance, you'll be ready for sure.

My Princess training was pretty bad--I hadn't run further than 5K since the beginning of November, and I just got through the 5K and the 10K with no problems, and I expect to survive the half marathon tomorrow morning with nothing worse than sore feet.

I would suggest you walk the 5K in April, and take it easy in the 10K, and save your energy for the 10 Miler. If you're not already using run/walk in your training, I highly recommend it.

I hope your ankle continues to improve and you have lots of fun with your first runDisney challenge.

Thank you! Have fun tomorrow!

Has anyone stayed at AKL for a race weekend? Any suggestions on which savanna to request/where in the building? Thanks in advance!
I stay there most race weekends, absolutely love it especially since I drive. It’s very simple to and from and if I’ve used the busses there has not been issues except a driver getting lost one time which happens just about everywhere. As far as where to stay it’s personal preference, it’s all beautiful. I’ve never stayed in a hotel room there as I’m DVC so I can’t say what is a good room. I prefer when I can get a value because I like saving points. The majority of restaurants are at Jambo but it’s very easy to take a shuttle or a nice stroll between there and Kidani. If you go with DVC room at Kidani request near lobby as the building is larger than Jambo, not exaggerating, if you stay in an end room it’s a ten minute walk down the hallway.
