Just talked to my girlfriend who was getting off the Magic in Los Angeles. The cruise went great. She said that the crew are really looking forward to dry dock because the ship is in need of repairs and when it gets done - LOOK OUT! I was even more excited about our cruise. If that is possible. She said they gave no hints of what is going to be done. She said the cruise was spectacular as always. Mike Super was on doing his show - I love him - does anyone else like his Magic?

I know we have a lot of 10-year olds and I didn't catch everyone that had one. If you will PM me, I will have your daughter, connect with my daughter. THANK YOU!!!!

I didn't realize we were the first cruise the Magic will sail coming out of dry dock. Everything will be beautiful and new! I also read on some cruise info place that the Magic is scheduled to be the first boat to sail into Costa Maya after the rebuilding. They are hoping to have the pier open in July, but none of the other cruiselines have committed to changing their schedules back to include Costa Maya. So, we might be the first there. HOW lucky are we?

My daughter started a thread for 10 years olds on the Double Dip website under the kids section (where their info would be protected). I think a couple of the girls have started talking. Lots of the same interests: Jonas Brother, Hannah Montana and Webkinz. LOL.

I just keep getting more and more excited about this cruise!

Heather:

Our 3 kiddos would like to do the hunt too . :)

Val--
I see in your signature that you were on the Magic last October. Was that the cruise that went to St. Maarten, St. Thomas? We cruised last October, & I'm pretty sure we left on the 13th too. I think we were on the same cruise :)

Yes we were on the Eastern last year! :) We had the Steeler jerseys on for semi formal night, and we had our pictures taken in them. We got more compliments on our jerseys, than our dressy clothes:lmao:

or if you have kids..my son was always with a set of identical twins. they were blonde/blue eyes...he is dk hair, dk eyes.

Val--Gosh, what a small world!

Let's see...we were the two parents always playing Uno in the corner of the Oceaneer Club with Reese (4). He didn't want to stay by himself, but there was way too much fun stuff to pass up on, so Jeff & I just sat on the floor in the back of the club and played Uno while Reese did his fun stuff. Maybe this go-round he'll stay without us... I did like watching though. The cast members really were kind to all the kids & tended to them very well....which I was glad I got to witness :)

Now that Desperate Housewives is over, we'll have to chat about So You Think You Can Dance - how about that crazy bendy guy??? Lionel and I were both like WHAT? It amazes me what people can do with their bodies. :confused3

My Passporter finally arrived yesterday! I've been reading ALL DAY.

I'm so glad your Passporter finally arrived! I'm enjoying reading mine! :)

I LOVE So You Think You Can Dance! That bendy guy was gross! But some of those dancers are WONDERFUL! Some of them I wonder why they get ticket to Vegas...oh well. Since I've been taking lessons for 25 years, I'm partial to the trained dancers over the pop & lockers and break dancers. Though I must say it is fun to watch the pop & lockers and break dancers improve week to week (at least most of them do).

That reminds me...I still need to watch Desperate Housewives...

Have a wonderful and safe Memorial Day, everyone! :)

On another note ~ The last two DCL cruises I have used their travel insurance. I am considering other options, but not sure what to select?

What do all of you do? Any suggestions?

Hi.

We used Insuremytrip.com to compare different travel insurance policies - coverages, prices, exclusions, etc. After wading through all the info (there was quite a lot!), we ended up purchasing a policy from Travelex.
They had an A+ rating & provided the coverage we needed for a VERY reasonable price. The price was MUCH better than the one offered directly by DCL.

Hope this helps.

RG

On another note would anyone be interested in putting a note in a bottle with a name and address and see if someone will mail back a letter from where it landed? I'm not sure throwing a bottle off the ship is even allowed.

If Disney cruise line is caught having someone throw a bottle or anything from ship to water the fine for the cruise line can be around $200,000 to $250,000 per item found, plus the Captain does show his not so nice side. Not saying don't do it, just don't get caught! Just throw it quick at night then:rolleyes1

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I'll keep that in mind! I wasn't sure what the rule was.

Thank you!

Wow! That's a heck of a fine. Not to mention, pi**ing off the captain.

Run, Tiffany, run!!! :moped:

The last guy - Robert - was TOO funny! The things he could do were amazing. :scared1: & then the interaction betw him & Nigel at the end was off the charts. This is especially amazing to me as I'm not into popping or dance like that - just not my thing. But this Robert guy had me mesmerized.

Hello, everyone!

For those in the States, Happy Memorial Day! I hope you took a moment today to think about all the ultimate sacrifices that many men and women and their families have made to keep us all safe back home. :grouphug:

Drea, you're too sweet. I'm just glad I could help!

Heather, do you want anything posted up on Post #6 regarding the hunt? If so, just PM me the language, and I'll get it up there for you. I think that's a brillant idea, btw!!

Stella, I'm so glad your DD10 has found some new cruising pals!

Sandi, interesting that the CREW is also looking forward to Dry Dock because of the need! I'm sure your friend had an awesome trip of a lifetime from the Atlantic to the Pacific!

There was some cruise movement this weekend in the Kimberly household!! Yesterday, we booked the Dolphin Encounter through Dolphin Discovery Cozumel. All three of us are scheduled for 1:00. (Lois, isn't that who you booked through as well?) Today I worked on one of my crafty Fish Extender gifts. :fish: My mom, Linda, helped me execute, so I can't take all the credit for making them. They're almost finished though!! :woohoo: Hopefully I'll get around to the second crafty thing before we set sail! Nonetheless, it was a great feeling of excitement for the cruise and accomplishment to work on those for you guys! :goodvibes

Have a great remainder of the week!

Oh yea....I forgot I wanted to ask if anyone has had any luck with finding someone or someone who knows someone who is in Costa Maya so we can see if he/she/they would be willing to come to the dock to pick up school supplies.

To all the veterans, active duty personnel, reservists & their families:

A huge THANK YOU to you for your service to our great country. Without you & your sacrifices, my family would not enjoy the freedoms we do today.

I come from a family w/several veterans - my father's father, my father, several uncles & cousins & my DH. So to them & to all the other veterans - you have our utmost respect & gratitude.

Kimberly:
Wasn't there a guy (US ex-pat) who lives & works somewhere near Costa Maya.....
He was posting progress updates on his website right after the hurricane that came through - damages, rebuilding, etc. I don't remember his name though (or website). Did anyone mention him yet?

**FISH EXTENDER/ SECRET MICKEY UPDATE**

Drea thanks for taking on the Fish Extenders I'm getting so excited. I'm trying to decide what exactly I want to do. Am I correct in thinking we have 65 people total so far? I think I want to do something for each person, I just don't want to forget anyone!

Ok for those of you who booked through insuremytrip.com what company did you go with? I really need to seriously start looking at that site again and make a decision.

We ended purchasing a policy w/Travelex. They have an A+ rating & provided the best coverage levels for us (including NO deductibles) for a pretty nice price.

We would love to participate in the Scavenger Hunt! We have a 7yo boy, a 6yo boy, and a 3yo girl (who might team with Mommy). ;)

Yes, a HUGE thank you to all the men and women out there that have died and the ones that are still serving our country. That's actually how I met Drea, our husbands were stationed in San Diego together :-) Tell E we said Hi and his drinking buddy Mike is ready to party ... :drinking1

We used insuremytrip.com too and went with Travelex.
