I got my 2008 rates today for my FW vacation. I pulled out the original conformation sheet I received when I booked and doubled checked the dates and all the pertinent info with what I got in the mail today. What I hadnt realized was someone made a mistake on the original ressie......They gave me an actual quote in print for my 2008 stay in Feb. The new paperwork is showing all the new price increases for weekends, holidays, and two weeks that are now peak instead of value. Since I had nothing to loose....I called CRO talked to someone in guest relations. She had me fax my original ressie to her. After reviewing it she called me back and said Disney will honor it! That saves me over $600 for my Feb. stay! I got a ton of pixie dust. Just wanted to pass this along....check/double check your ressies.

Sombody sure goofed. They shuuld have noted that prices are not guaranteed for a reservation that is in a new rate period.

But, with that said you saved and I'm happy they stood by your quote.

Have a great trip!

Did you make the reservation before the guaranteed 2008 rates were released? If so, then they didn't have to honor your original reservation! You got lucky! Everybody else that made their 2008 reservations before the prices were released had their totals go up! :goodvibes

YaY for YoU!! You must have gotten a CM that truly believed in spreading the "Pixie Dust"!

I recently made reservations for weekends in Jan, Feb, Mar & Apr. The CM was very specific in telling me that the rate he was quoting me was subject to a 2008 price increase when it was released. Yep! He was right!

I hear a lot of people grumble about the rates for the Fort - but when you think about everything that comes with that rate - it's a bargain! I tell the complainers (mostly snowbirds) if you want cheap camping with no extras, stay at a State Park or a KOA. If you want a first class campground - pay the price, don't complain & stay at the Fort!!:thumbsup2

I made this reservation in Mar. 07. I knew that the rates had not been released yet and I didnt pay much attention to the price. I knew it would be adjusted later. It came as a surprise to me to have an actual total quote for the stay. I have a separate reservation for Jan. 08 and it clearly states that this only guarantees the site not the rate per night.

I had mixed feelings about attempting to get Disney to stand by the original ressie. I thought they'd just say, sorry you have to pay the new rates....which BTW I would have done. Disney's job is to make money and my job is to try to save my money.:rotfl:

Oh... never have mixed feelings about asking for a lesser price! You took a gamble and won! The worst answer would have been "no", which you were prepared to deal with. You, got the BEST answer!!! YaY!!!
