Dorky Disney Cruisers, 11/22-26/06,Anyone else with us???

Brandon,

What a wonderful picute! You guys will have the best time. Thanks for sharing.
Carol

Ok guys...final call for the shirts!!!!

So far here is who I have heard from:
Randy
Brandon
Carol
Ivanova
Shelley
Michelle
and obviously ME :joker:

I am going to get Ivanova'a to her before we leave.

I am going to ship the rest to the Wonder, but I need you guys to PM me your last names so I can get them to the right people (I already have Randy's). I think one of you said you did not have a room number so if you want me to ship it to you directly before the ship leaves, PM me that too. In fact...if it will be easier for me to send them directly to you, I will be happy to do that if you PM me an address to send it to. Whatever you guys want.

Let me know ASAP though, as I am getting started on them.

I guess that is all

I believe that it is usually first thing in the morning...

Correct Brandon! They usually arrive fairly early in the morning in fact, if you're not an early riser, you'll miss the docking (which is pretty cool). The first sight of CC from the ship is something else.

And so when do they start letting people onto shore? Around 7 or 8 or what?

It is fun to watch the ship pull in. I don't think you can get off until around 9:00 am.

JoRy - I think you are on the port side. Usually they back the ship in and starboard faces the family beach. Sometimes the pull in depending on the conditions.

We definately have to get this thread up to 500 posts before we leave...

Here's number 470!!!!

On every cruise I've been on (10), the ship has always docked "stern in". As Carol said, if you are on the starboard side of the boat (right side), you can wake up in the morning and see the island from your stateroom. It is an awesome sight.

You can get off the ship at Castaway Cay at about 8:00. The exact time will be determined on the cruise and be on the Navigator.

Who's going to post #471 ?????

471!!!

I am on the port side of the boat so does that mean I will have to get up early and head up to a higher deck (or a scecret outlook) to see the island?

the ship ties up to the dock on the port side but turns around 180 degrees to back in before it docks. I like to be on deck 10 and watch the process. There are different spots on the boat to view different things. For instance, if you are standing on the outside seating area of Topsiders (all the way in the back on deck 9), You will see the stern of the ship as it eases back into the dock. From there, you will also see all of Castaway Cay (awsome spot). If you are mid ships on the port side, you'll see the ship slowly move into place next to the dock. If you are forward on the port side, you can watch the captain pilot the ship from his port side station which is on the outside of the bridge on deck 8. You can stand right above him on deck 9 and watch how he docks the ship.

How many times do Randy and I have to tell you...there is no way you are going to see the ship pull in that early in the morning. Randy...obviously he does not remember he is going to be on his honeymoon.

Anyway...I was asking more for the reason of planning excursions on CC. We are doing the glass bottom boat tour with the 2 year olds in the group and the stingray swim with the older boys. Has anyone done either of those?

Of course, the DW and I are heading to the couples massage as well.

I think it would be pretty cool to see the ship dock at CC, but I am NOT a morning person, so if it is not able to be seen from my veranda, I will not be enjoying the view (unless of course my 2 year old is up, and my wife kicks me out of the room with her :bride: :wave2: :furious:

My father in law's stateroom is one door away from the bridge, so I have a feeling he will trying to steer the Wonder into CC :sail: :boat:  :faint:

Hey Brandon...isn't it getting really close to the big day? I assume you will be finding a computer and giving us updates on the wedding celebration while you are away!!! :bride: :wave2:

Can you say 19 days!!!!! yes, we are under 20...cruise docs to arrive real soon.

:cool1: :cool1: :cheer2: :yay: :bounce: :woohoo: :dancer:

I usually relax and enjoy the beach. The only excursion I have done on CC is parasailing (which was awesome)
From the Passporter's Guide to the Disney Cruise:
Castaway Ray Stingray Adventure gets a score of 9 out of a possible 10.
Cruisers reviews are very positive. The experience was "enjoyable" as was "educational". The innovative stingray ramps gave guest a better look at the rays. Overall, most cruisers say they want to do it again on their next cruise.

Glass bottom boat gets a 2 out of 10 (no, 2 is not a typo)
Cruiser reviews are uniform: The rocky, overcrowded boat is filled with people pushing shoving to see out the cloudy glass bottom. Very limited fish are visible. There are very few seats meaning most have to stand the entire time. Overall, cruisers say "don't bother".

Hope that info helps.
