Hello Everyone! I don't know about Todd and Doreen but Brian and I have been having a fabulous time with them. Last night we met up late and grabbed dinner at a sub place and then headed down to the balloon glow at Forest Park. It was a bit of a bust since traffic was awful so we ended up leaving DH in the car while Todd, Doe and I headed over the hill to see the balloons and then back down to DH who didn't move in the 20 minutes we might have been gone We then took them out to a St. Louis historical landmark - Ted Drewes Frozen Custard. Yummy!
This morning we got an early start and headed out to the St. Louis Arch. We watched a 30 minute documentary on the construction of the Arch which was really interesting. We then took a tram ride up to the top of the arch 630 feet above the city (or so Doe tells me). After that we took a sightseeing river boat cruise up the Mississippi river. Then we headed down to the Anheisuer Busch Brewing Company and took the 1 hour tour. We all head back to our beds for quick naps. Then they came over to our place tonight to eat pizza and chill out with our neighbors Eric and Susan.
Good morning, Doreen, wherever you are. I can't remember if you're coming home today or if you came home last night. I hope it's the former. If you came home yesterday I hope you're off from work today at the very least!
It sounds like you had a good time; did your neck hold up? My favorite part of your itinerary was the cruise on the Mississippi.
The trip to St. Louis was wonderful!! We had a great time with Amanda and her DH, saw the sights and made sure we took lots of time to just relax. I'll try to put down more of the details later, I promise, but I'm back at work and there is SO MUCH to do.
My plan for today is just to be good to me and resist the urge to emotionally eat to calm my work anxiety. That's enough for now.
I'm sure I'll be back later and I hope to get to journals this evening.
to you, dear WISH-sis. I'm glad to know you got home safely. Good luck with all the work that's on your plate for today--here's a little to make the job easier.
Morning Wish-Sis! Thanks for calling me last night and letting me know you got home safely! I bet you are one tired woman! How are the kids and the puppy?
Even if I haven't had time to get around to journals, know that I'm thinking of all of you and hoping all is going well. I'm teaching today and tomorrow so I'll be very limited on my DIS time.
The scale is still happily at 155, which is wonderful considering the way I've been eating. This weekend I'll get groceries and get back in the groove. Until then, I'm busy busy busy and will just have to hang in there and be patient.
Amanda, the puppy was thrilled to see me return. The kids were their usual unenthusiastic selves. Gotta love those teens. They pretend they are self-sufficient and really don't want or need Mom & Dad around. The truth always comes out though and they were glad to see us come home.
Gotta run. I'll make the rounds soon, I promise. I miss my WISH buddies and want to catch up on what's been going on.
Doe, what do you mean - we were the perfect example of healthy eating while you were here. Nothing but green vegetables and lean protein! And if anyone believes that I've got a bridge in brooklyn I'd like to sell ya.
Glad to hear the puppy was happy to see you! I hope your classes go by fast so that you can get back on the DIS!!
~Amanda
I had zero time to post here yesterday, much less to visit everyone else. Today looks to be just as busy, at least in the morning. My class went well Wednesday and yesterday. Today I've got an employee evaluation to do and I need to tie up loose ends in 2 other areas. I'm already exhausted and the day hasn't even started yet.
Tonight is DD's 4th tennis match of the week. She and her partner WON their match on Wednesday, their first win of the regular season. My parents are coming to watch her play and then we're all headed next door to the stadium to watch DS and the marching band do the pre-game show at the football game. Then I'm going to go home and sleep until noon tomorrow.
My plans for Saturday and Sunday are to sleep, read and plan my food for next week.
