Dopey, 5k and 10k now sold out..

Even though the runDisney site still shows Dopey at 99% if you got to register you get the following screen...

I dunno if they have that on the 10k??? Dopey is still open.. but it's over 3/4 full...

The charity group we run for has 10k spots available, so I'm assuming others do too.

I really wanted to do the 10k, but hesitated signing up yesterday. So, now I am signed up for the half! wow! I a, not much of a runner, so this is a really big deal for me! Time to start training.

I'm a little surprised. There isn't a 10K on this planet I'd pay $95 to run. Throw in the fact that there are no age group awards and this race just has no appeal to me, just like their overpriced 5Ks.

Even though the coral was written on our bibs...I was in the last coral, my seven year old niece was in coral A all by herself. Her parents were in C or D.
It didn't matter. It was basically assign it yourself.

I was kind of sad that I didn't get to get into either the 5K or 10K. I was debating doing either and when I was finally making a decision, they sold out. Oh well. I think I'm going to do the Dumbo Double Dare next year to get my coast to coast and then 2015 do the Dopey challenge.

Hmmm, my sister and I were just discussing this the other day: I don't understand how the 10K can be sold out, yet there was still availability for the Dopey. The Dopey includes the 10K, therefore there should still be room, right? ( I clearly know that there IS Not availability for the 10K, I'm not arguing that fact, I just don't understand the method that is being used)

Also, 2013 was the first year that Disney started to corral runners for the 5K races. We did it with my family this year and my sister and I were in corral A and my parents in corral B. Not sure how that was determined, but you did have to show your bib to enter the corral. I think its more for crowd control than anything else. We asked to run in B so we could be with our parents. As in any race, you can always move back a corral, but not up.

They have an event total for the 10k Say it is 10000 to be easy.. They have 500 for charity, 500 for travel agents, 1000 for early registration .. that is 2000, they have 2000 for dopey so now 4000 which means they had 6000 'regular' entries. Those 6000 are gone.. There may be still some charity, some for TA's and there ARE a few left obviously for the dopey... thats how there can be none left for the race but some left for dopey..

Dopey now appears to be full.. rD still shows 99% but try to register and you get this
