I would like to know how much it is too & the black barrel bag.

I went through all 120+ pages of this thread & couldn't see the prices of the black one's.

WOW! I guess I'm a bit late jumping on this thread, but I LOVEEE THE BAG!! I would love to carry them during my trips.

If you go to post 1919 the original OP just visited Disney and she posted a pic...there was lots of bags in both colors. But, it's a hit and miss with these bags. Before I left on my Nov. trip, many posts stated very few bags to be found. When I arrived, I had no issues finding the bags.

Thanks for the information! Hit and miss is so risky though, especially when it comes to something I'm dying to have! I don't want to try to order the bag because I read that someone had to pay $30 for shipping and also I'd like to hand pick my purse. When I saw the 3 white purses on display in the jewelry shop on Main Street, I noticed that the patterns were different. The different objects on it (i.e. Mickey, the Castle, etc.) were in different positions on each one. It wasn't hugely noticeable, but each object was different on each bag by a few inches or so. I'd just like to choose exactly what my purse looks like.
So, after my long-winded post, would it be too much to ask for updates? If anyone following this thread goes to WDW within the next month could you just post and let me know about the availability of the bags?

So I am thinking...since I can't get to WDW and DL does not have them (even thoug they say DL) (GRRRR)!!!! I think I might try to get it on Ebay and be able to see the placements vs chancing just ordering...what do you all think???

Also, will they give the DL AP discount when calling <--that would make a difference!

That's exactly what I did!
Our last trip was in Sept 09, right before the bags came out, and we might not get back this year.

After I found this thread I was anxious to call WDW Merchandising right away and order one over the phone. However, I did NOT like the idea of NOT seeing the pattern placement. So off to ebay I went!

You definitely have to be careful on ebay though. Some auctions do not picture the actual bag you will receive. Other auctions are way overpriced. Luckily I found a seller that listed with a starting bid below the retail price and very reasonable shipping fees. There were some competing bids, but thankfully I prevailed!
I was willing to pay retail plus Disney's shipping costs - and in total, that's just about exactly what I paid. The benefit is that I got to see (with 5 detailed photos) the exact bag I was purchasing!

Another added bonus is that shipping was SUPER fast - about 3 days! My ebay seller packaged the bag immaculately: with the original stuffing, D&B tissue, tags, and WDW shopping bag! It was a better-than-expected transaction!

They will not give the AP discount. I was told the only discount they give is for employees.

There are a lot of bags on EBAY right now selling for just about the same price you would pay at DW. At least this way you get to see the exactment placement of your bag. During xmas, I bid on the black wristlet and paid $36 total. The seller lived in orlando and she was nice enough to deliver it to downtown disney.

I don't really think there is a way to make it less stiff. All Dooney designs in this particular style are very stiff. Perhaps over time it might loosen up, but since the material is a "coated cotton" as opposed to a leather, I don't think it will stretch or loosen too much.

I went into the Coach store tonight at the mall and after I'd been there a while and talked with a couple of the salesgirls, one came up to me quietly and said, "Can I see your purse? HaHa that is a cute story! I would be in heaven if Coach made some Disney themed bags though. I'm more of a Coach than Dooney girl, but Dooney's Disney bags are making me change my ways just this once

aww, thats awesome! i wonder what would happen if i took my bag into our local louis vuitton boutique .... they might turn their noses up at it. but, to each their own and the dooney's for disney bring me way more joy and magic than an LV.

Short, slightly irrelevant story, but I'll share it anyway.
Everyone is talking about ordering these bags off of ebay and I am on an ebay strike. I'll never use ebay again. I ordered what I thought to be a real Coach slingpack for a Disney trip. The seller even described it as being real. In the pictures there was a picture of the sewn in "license" that is usually in Coach bags and everything. When I received it, I could tell right off the bat it was a fake and left the seller negative feedback. Apparently since I was her first negative reviewer she got really mad and started harassing me. I tried to get ebay involved and to help me get my money back, because the seller's site said no refunds, but I thought ebay might could evaluate the case. They replied to my first two messages, although it didn't really help, so then I called customer service and didn't really help, and I sent another email and never even heard back! What a crappy way to take care of ebay members.
I'm not saying I won't use ebay because I think the Disney Dooney bags are fakes, I just have an issue with ebay in general. It's my personal protest I guess you could say. Anyway, the story has a happy ending. My mom heard about all the hurdles I'd gone through to try to get my money back and surprised me with a real Coach slingpack for Christmas. I've always wanted one because I think they are the perfect size for me to carry my small necessities with me into the parks.
Alas, $60 was lost on ebay, but it's all good. I got what I wanted in the end

Maybe you could inspire them to create a monogram line with disney overlay like the cherry blossom line.

If you paid via paypal you should have filed with them immediatly. So sorry that happened to you though. Thats the reason I will not buy a bag on ebay I am way too scared of it being fake. Although I will occasionally sell some of my babies.

I know I am loving my Dooney even if, according to DH, I am slumming LOL. Although he is definatly happy that my 2 bags and wristlet cost a lot less then my wallets normally cost so he is good. I've actually been wearing it for more then 2 weeks too. I'm itching for a new bag so hopefully they will come out with something else soon because I have my eye on a new LV and a Prada from the spring/summer 2010 line!
