I just called and bought mine:woohoo: They told me it would take 15 - 20 days to get here, which is fine with me since I'm going to WDW for Turkey day! Oh and I got the large tote:thumbsup2

i wish they had another color i had a white D&B before and it turned yellow does anyone have a suggestion on cleaning light colored D&B handbags

Do you think I could buy one over the phone but pick it up there over the weekend to save shipping? I will be there soon, but I am afraid they will be gone by then.

Hi all!

I called Disney Merchandise today around 1pm EST and ordered the tote and wristlet. :woohoo: I was chatting to the CM and she said that from what she knew that once these bags are sold out completly it doesn't show any signs of them being reordered. :sad2: She also told me that her supervisor told them that there is suppose to be another purse coming out sometime around Thanksgiving for the holiday shopping season, :) but couldn't tell me what style it was or what it looked like, if it was the same color and pattern.

So from what she said I guess if you really really want one you better get it now or there won't be any left. I have never owned a "designer" handbag but thought that this one would be a good one to get since it is a "limited" edition.

I am not sure if any of this information is the "gospel" but just thought I would share it. :thumbsup2

Ugh ... I was just reading on Purse Forum and apparently this is a huge problem with this type of material. Very disappointing!! :(

Here's the only link I could find with suggestions for cleaning it. It seems like the most successful one involved the owner removing the plastic coating from the fabric :scared1: and scrubbing it with different solutions. http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf44844603.tip.html

Oh dear, I really hate to hear that! I've owned designer bags before, but never a D&B & never white. After reading all of the thriftyfun theads on the subject, it sounds to me as if the polyvinyl coating is yellowing (as a lot of plastic does over time), and the yellowing is being transmitted to the actual fabric, which is bizarre. One person posted that she stores hers in a vacuum-sealed bag, and that so far it hadn't yellowed. I'm wondering if acid-free paper would help, too. I hate high-maintenance stuff :furious: I'm also wondering if the best plan would be to just go ahead and remove the plastic coating and scotch-guard the fabric before the yellowing starts. :confused3 The other option, of course, is just to send the bag back when I get it, but I really don't want to do that :sad2:

I had a D&B "hearts" design back a few years back and it did do that same thing - started to yellow. I think it might be sunlight or something? There's no way to remove the plastic coating, it's coated right onto the canvas...the way it turns is sort of like if you have clear plastic car mats and they turn color after a while...maybe the vacuum bag would help but I really think sunlight contributes to it as well. :confused3

The person who posted on the thread mentioned a couple of posts back did remove the plastic coating and was able to clean the canvas with Oxyclean! I agree that sunlight is the primary culprit, and it's difficult to understand how a high-end bag manufacturer couldn't find another coating that doesn't yellow (or not apply the coating at all). Apparently, all D&B will do if you send the bag back is offer you another one for 1/2 price--that's pretty poor customer service IMO.

Whoa that's crazy!! I can't imagine how I'd go about trying to remove the plastic! It seems to be 'one with the fabric' lol! I guess that's good that she could tho, but yeah, I agree that they should fix the problem at the source!

Well I felt that I graduated from Dooney & Bourke a long time ago but I totally want one of these! Its funny that there wasn't a press release or something announcing the collaboration!

Holy bananas that is soooo cute-- I think I may have to split up from DH to make the purchase!! You said you got it in DTD World of Disney?? So cute- maybe just a wristlet...
