I did it !! I ordered the Sketch Letter Carrier ! I am going to keep it for Christmas ! I figured it was only $97 bucks after the discount ! Hubby may kill me but I can keep it till Dec and not use it .. I think ...
I ordered him a gift too but not D&B ...

Now just wish me luck for good placement !!

I have to ask, how long were the 40th Anniversary Bags up for yesterday? I read this thread and thought I would take a look and see what they had, and lo...there was a 40th Anniversary Letter Carrier. I was excited for the 5 seconds it took to load, and then "Sold Out" shows up.

On one hand I am ticked off because I didn't look earlier and on the other hand I am telling myself that no matter how many there were (1?, 5?) they probably didn't last much past 7 AM.

So did anybody get one of the 40th Anniversary bags?

I'm new to this thread but I though you guys might have an answer to my question!

I have a Disney Dooney sketch tote. First or second edition, with really awesome placement! I've carried it everyday since the day I bought it about 2.5 years ago...and maybe I shouldn't have. I noticed about a year ago it was getting crazy dirty and it wouldn't come clean no matter what I tried.

Here are some photos. For some reason it doesn't look as dirty in photos. Its like a grey over shadow

Any suggestions? I'll try anything at this point!

I have that same purse and while I don't have the grey over shadows on the white part, the leather in the handle and buckle area look a little splotchy like yours does. I've heard that it is supposed to darken over time, so is that what is going on? Is there anyway to clean the leather? It looks especially bad where I grip the handle while carrying the purse.

Hi everyone! I posted a few months back about getting a Leather Disney Dooney bag. It's the large leather sketch and I absolutely adore it. I had a few questions that someone here may be able to help me out with. I'd really appreciate any advice.

So, this is my first leather purse of substantial size, I have a smaller leather Dooney handbag that I also love, but it's really quite small and made of a heavier leather so I don't feel like I've been as wary of stressing the material it's made out of.

Okay, so the question is, does this look like normal wear and tear/leather being used/whatever you would call it? I've owned it since early June. If not what can I do to better take care of my purse that in a dream world I would have forever and ever and ever!!??

I dunno, maybe I'm being hyper sensitive about it, the pictures don't look that bad, but there's definitely noticeable marks here and there. It was a gift, and I love it, and I just want to take proper care of what I feel was an expensive purse! Thanks so much in advance for any and all advice!

I called the CA merchandise department for disney,but they have nothing. Is anyone here Willis g to part with theirs and sell theirs to me? I am looking for decent placement. If noone is willing to part with it, then does anyone live near CA and would be willing to look for me there. I know I'm asking a bit much. But I really want this wallet!!!!!

It's been at least 4 months since I've seen any 55th anniversary bags in the parks at all, and wallets disappeared even longer ago than that. I'm afraid you're stuck trying to find one on the secondary market now. One popped up on e-bay not long ago, you might want to keep an eye out there. I do have one, but I'm not parting with it, sorry.

According to Dooney its moisture on the inside of the bag on the cotton material that will make these marks, rain etc .....

I am a Dooney fanatic!!
I know for a fact that the leather trim will darken and appeared stretched over time...also if it gets wet and isn't wiped right away it will have a stained look...it's leather....all leather will normally do that...it is apart of the aging process and gives character to the bag.

As for the the fabric...I have the exact same purse and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!
Here is what I found on the Dooney website...
The polyvinyl-coated cotton fabric is generally water repellent and should repel most soil.

Should the fabric become soiled, cleaning should be done with a soft cotton cloth or soft toothbrush slightly dampened with distilled water (sodium-free seltzer water may be substituted) and a mild bar soap, applied in a circular motion. Repeat with distilled water only to ensure no residual soap remains. The material should then be allowed to dry completely.

No creams, polishes, cleansers, or leather conditioning agents should be applied to any portion of the leather. The 100% Vacchetta Leather trim will characteristically darken over time with use and with exposure to light.

I would say to try Dawn in lieu of the mild bar soap. Dawn works miracles!! Just regular Dawn, though. I haven't tried any of the fancy variations for stuff like this.
