Dooney & Bourke Disney collaboration ~ part 3

After skimming over this entire thread (I didn't look at parts one and two) I couldn't find an answer to one question that I have.

We are going to WDW in October, and I am hoping to purchase one of the 40th anniversary bags while I'm there. I have both a Disney Visa and an AP. I know that the stores (WoD, Trend-D) in DD will give you a discount if you use one of those, but what about the stores in the parks? (Uptown Jewelers, MouseGears, etc.) I'm afraid that I will find the perfect placement in one of those stores, but would like to save some money if I can.

Also, if I decide to use my Dream Rewards from Disney Visa, will I still be able to get a percentage off of the price?

TIA!

You should be able to use one discount or the other almost anywhere (but non-disney stores...Japan comes to mind...). I think that in oder to get the 10% visa discount a portion has to be charged to the card. So, I would go AP and rewards dollars if you're choose to do the rewards. But you should be able to say to the CM "I have X, Y &Z...how do we do this?"

Good luck with finding your perfect placement!!

I have used my discount at the stores in the parks also. I don't believe they will give you the discount if you don't actually purchase it with the card though. I would just use the card for food or something else, and use the money you would have spent on that, for the bag to get the discount.

This year, premium annual passholders receive 20% off merchandise, and other types of annual passes receive 10% off. The discount is good at Disney-owned stores at Downtown Disney and in the parks (Uptown Jewelers, MouseGears, etc.) As another poster mentioned, stores like Japan and Arribas Brothers/Crystal Arts don't give a discount. (Mexico did give me a discount on a Three Caballaros t-shirt - so always ask if a store is honoring the passholder discount.) You can use gift cards or Visa reward cards to pay for purchases that were discounted with the passholder discount. Also, there is no minimum purchase. When I bought just a bag of almonds at the Emporium, they gave me the discount. Happy Shopping!

If you're looking for the 40th print, there was very little in the stores. I wanted the checkbook/wallet and it is sold out. Didn't see any letter carriers, wristlets, or bucket style either. I checked all the parks and a few of the resorts.

There were a few large totes, even fewer messengers. By the end of the week, there was mostly totes left. CMs not sure if more will be coming in.

I am selling a messenger 40th ann. on ebay for $220 with Pluto on the front. If interested I would sell thru here for less since I would lose fees on ebay. :flower3:

That is so weird. I wonder why? Could they be stockpiling them for the official anniversary in October in anticipation of a lot of visitors around that time?

I hope so.. my trip isn't until late October and I hoping to at least get a 40th anniversary wristlet.:cutie:

Tink58 - do you mean by large totes the Kristen style? I am watching one on eBay that has GREAT placement on the back, and I mean perfect, but the front leaves a little to be desired.

My family will be there mid-August and I am wondering should I buy this one which is half perfect and probably will sell below retail or wait it out until I can choose my own...

And BUMMER about the wallet and wristlet - the wallets are way overpriced I think, but if I found just the right one, I might be willing to splurge. I think I've only seen 3 on eBay. The wristlet I just use as purse decor...

TIA!

They are still selling these on disney online so they must still have them. This is one of the busiest time of year at Disney through the summer, so they are probably just selling faster than they are getting them in. They will catch up with the demand. Disneyland has consistently sold the 55th anniversary ones through and after the actual celebration date so I am personally confident that they will have more of these. :)

I thought that could be a possibility too but those that have been to the World recently don't seem to be reporting that the CMs have stated that the bags are selling as fast as they come in. Sounds more like the CMs are just saying they don't know when/if more are coming in. :confused3

HI I have a Disney dooney I bought at the parks it is damaged I tool it back yesterday to see what I could do but they no longer make the bag. It is not damaged due to misuse or abuse should I call Dooney direct?

Yes, they are supposed to stand behind their products. Let us know what you find out.

So I took it as a sign when I open my email this morning and there was 20% off parks merch. That I should buy the champ sac I also got another cosmetic bag which I will put away for my daughter with some things for our trip in Oct we arrive on her birthday.

I saw the same sign, but it pointed in the direction of the purple wristlet. Since a $50 order would get 10% more off, a blue wristlet for my mom hopped in the cart too. They came out to $35.28 plus tax each :yay:

P.S. The DRVCMEMBER code for 10% off with Disney Visa is working with the 20% off PARK20 code :-)

LOL! I thought there would be chatter on this thread this morning with the PARKS20 email discount! ;)
I, too, couldn't resist! Got the 55th anniversary wristlet to go with all my other 55th bags and for my niece's 16th birthday, the Pink Denim Erica!:ssst:
(Last year, when we were at WDW, she would have no part of the D&B's I was buying her sisters, but now she comes over and is oogaling (sp) over them. :rotfl: ) So, this will be a huge suprise for her! And a balloon cosmetic bag, of course!

Was also wanting to get the 40th bucket bag, but they're not there.
Were there yesterday though~:headache:
I bet disneystore pulled them for this 20% sale! :rolleyes1

Oh, well, should've got one in May.

Glad to see everyone is taking advantage of this discount~:cloud9:
