Dooney & Bourke Disney collaboration ~ part 3

Wow, I'm surprised to see the Lucy is finally up! So much for mid-February but better late than never.

For those of you thinking about it, I have to say, I LOVE this bag! I've worn it almost every day since I got it. I completely understand about being worried about placement, though, as it is smaller than the other totes and if it wasn't for my absolutely perfect placement, I don't know if I would love it as much.

By the way, I know I told you guys how helpful my mom was in investigating and finally getting this bag for me, but did I tell you that my mom's name is Lucy?!? Pretty ironic, huh?!

Well, thanks to cats mom I received my DREAM bag today!
It's like Christmas for me.

So, here's the new addition. . . . .

So, now I have a bag with not one of the two things I wanted on the front, which I would have been happy with. . . . but it has BOTH of the things I wanted! I thought it might be too impossible, or too hard, but apparently there IS such a thing as pixie dust!
So, it has a complete Disneyland sign w/flags AND Mickey and Minnie!

So, this is my little collection now:

And I just had to show off the back of this perfect bag too, since it just seems so perfect too.

And I know to each his own, and everyone has different "ideals" for placement, but this is just perfect for me.

I just saw the pics on disneystore.com and the placement on that bag is horrible. Imagine ordering online and receiving a purse with the character placement that you don't like. For a price of $210 I'd want a purse with awesome placement

Super happy with how things finally turned out.

Is the Lucy being sold in the parks? I thought I had read posts saying the only way to get this before it (finally) showed up online, was to call with the item number. If it's at the parks, I don't know how I keep missing it in the stores. I REALLY like the strap on this! So cute. But agreed, the placement of the one online is HORRID!

I think the Dooney bug has fully hit, cause now I'm thinking, hm, my birthday's coming up. . . . . . lol. Even though I KNOW I just CANNOT afford this.
Think I might selling Tupperware or something to support this potential habit!
Funny thing is, I am NOT a bag/purse person!

I ordered two and i did not really find the placement i am looking for, so im ordering two more and then just picking the best out of the four and returning the rest. A little more expensive with the cost of return shipping but for $210 I want to get a purse i love. I also wont be visiting the parks til January so i want to make sure i get one.

I agree For what we pay for these Disney Dooney bags, we should absolutely, totally and completely love them

Oh, my gosh, that placement is so perfect I am so happy you got your two wish placements I agree about everyone having their own "ideal" placement I am going down 5 weeks from today and have been saving examples of placements in the 40th anniversary pattern that appeal to me Now if I could only make the time go by faster

Tricky Disney email!!!!

Did anyone else get the email from Disney Parks about free shipping on disneystore.com? The email has a large picture displaying 40th anniversary merchandise: a large vinylmations and..........ALL the 40th WDW Dooneys!!!! When you click the picture of the Dooneys, it brings you to the 40th section of the disneystore website but alas, no 40th Dooneys to be found.

I was just on the Disney store and the 40th Dooneys are up now.

I checked and they weren't here either, but after seeing HockeyMom's post I went back, I had to type Dooney 40th to get them to show.

I wonder if they purposely show poor placement on the Lucy to avoid the placement/return issue. I'd be seriously upset with that bag. I'd love to order the 40th too, but the placement thing...

I got these last month at TJ Maxx and then on other thread I saw someone post a pic of the blue Mickey head one and also silver ones: a small carryon one with a Mickey head, med size one with Donald and a large one with Minnie with a hat on....so I went back to check it out and came home with the med size one like the one I had gotten, only bigger! I may take the small one back. I'm keeping the rolling backpack one, although it's small and I'm not sure what I can use it for! My DS (10) likes it, so maybe it will be his carryon!??

I didn't know anything about the Dooney's...so I will have to see if my store carries those!

SOOOOO excited! A TJMaxx in my area moved from one mall to the other and the grand opening was today and I snagged the black Mickey face suitcase! I've been calling around and checking my local Marshalls stores with no luck and I hit it today! I'm so excited!!

I didn't check for Dooneys as the store was packed since today was their grand opening and honestly I really only wanted my suitcase

That's strange... i just put Dooney and Bourke in the search and they were all there on the bottom of the page.

I wouldn't order one online anyway. I want to pick the placement. I am hoping for lots of options when we are there in May.

I do think that the Lucy would be hard to get a good placement on, just because of the size of the pattern verses the size of the bag. There is a lot of dead space in the sketch pattern. I don't think that the 40th pattern is like that though. There is a lot going on in the pattern so that each cut has a lot of the design. I know us crazies want specific things on our bags, but I don't think that the bags look bad, like the Lucy that is on the store.

Did anybody else notice the price raise on the 40th prints. Letter carrier is up to 165 and messenger is up to 265 and Kristen is up to 295? Just a heads up!
