The disneyshopping site says the DL55 bucket is 10'' H x 14'' W x 5'' D, so the 40th is probably the same. They say the med sketch is 10 1/2'' H x 11'' W x 6'' D.

Oh! The bucket is less than the messenger? How does it compare in size to the sketch medium?

Hopefully someone who has both will post a picture, I know a visual can help a lot.

I think the messenger is quite roomy and probably easier to keep organized than the bucket since it's not as deep and it has the back pocket. Truthfully I think the bucket has the potential to be a bit of a black hole, especially if you overload it.

That said, I ended up selling my messenger because the bucket worked better for me. I think it really comes down to personal preference. I love the way the bucket bag fits on my shoulder and although you can shorten the strap on the messenger and wear it over your shoulder, that just wasn't as comfortable for me. I think the strap on the messenger really is best suited for cross body, and I seldom ever wear my bags cross body. I didn't love the flap on the messenger either. I like to to just drop stuff in the top of my bags. Again just personal preference though. I know a lot of folks love, love, love their messenger bags.

Mousegears at Epcot has Dooneys, but the selection was pretty limited when I was there last week.

If you get some time at DTD your best bet is to go to World of Disney. TrendD also carries the bags.

At all three of those locations the bags are behind the counters so hopefully you will get some helpful CM's that don't mind taking some time to let you look through the bags.

My DH wants one of the Baseball bats from DTD, that they make right in front of you, so as he is doing that I will be looking at bags! I just hope I find the right one. but at this point I hope they have some....

Thanks for all the pics Mary I agree that Uptown Jewelers usually has a good selection of disney dooneys. I also like the fact that you don't have to ask a CM to please bring them down from a display, which is the case at WOD and Tren-D. If you buy a purse at Tren-D (for example) and you find one that you like even more at WOD, you can exchange it there. No need to go back to the original store where you bought it. Just make sure to keep your receipt.

All this messenger/bucket bag talk is slowly convincing me I might like that better than my Wonder print barrel bag and it isn't even here yet. I sent back the one with the crooked label and am waiting for a new one. Before I send it back to Disney, is anyone looking for one? I got a good deal and paid $104 after tax.

I think you are right that there is a 10% discount, but I have never used it at DTD, only inside the parks. I was not sure if they took it at WOD and TrenD

Yes, I used my AP discount at both WOD and TrenD with no problems You do have to ask for it though as they do not offer it If you don't have an AP, they also do the 10% Disney Visa but they will not do both together

Something else I remembered.. keep the receipt with the actual purse if you might exchange it. Last time I exchanged the medium sketch bag, I had bought four sketch bags it took a couple of minutes for the CM to match the sku tag on the purse with my receipts. I was amazed that the same bag had different sku tags. Hope you find the exact placement you want

Does anyone have a pic of the messenger next to a sketch medium tote or a pic with the messenger on them so I can get a sense of the size?

Also, wondering if that strap is replaceable thru Dooney?

I just had such bad luck with my sketch handles. They are literally black.

I wanted a 40th bucket, but given it is more expensive and harder to find I'm wondering if I should lean toward a messenger...

The bags that I bought have the following price on the tags. Messenger 40th $255 and the bucket style $250. When I get a chance if you still need pics I'll post them for you.

I got my princess bag yesterday and the placement was great. It flowed really well. I really like the messenger bag and am thinking about getting one while at WDW this weekend. I really wasn't digging the 40th anniversary print at first, but now everytime I look at it, I like it more and more!!
