I got my sketch wristlet! To be honest, I am not impressed. I wish the snap closure had a magnet to aid it. It seems like you have to press a little too hard to close it. The designs I don't find to be that thrilling on this particular one. Kind of a Mickey crotch shot going on :confused3 . Anywho...not my fave purchase. I am oddly drawn to the pink D&B heart attached. Must be my pink sparkly issues. (Please pardon my after-dusk-and-inside shots. It's actually white.)

One question though: What's the story with the character "tape". I figure there is a reason for everything, so I've just got to ask...

What do you pros think? Am I overthinking this/being over critical?

Just look at it from the top down... A full Mickey is hard to get on those and you have a good one on yours. What is the picture when you open the flap. It looks like you have a nicely centered something there.

I think you got a great Mickey there! As for the snap, I agree that it is hard to close when the wristlet is empty. It works fine though when there is stuff in the bag, if that makes any sense.

I noticed the character tape too. Mine had totally different charaters than yours. I bet it does have some meaning. Maybe a warehouse code of some sort? It could be to tell who packaged the items or something like that.

From what I understand (and read on this board), it's hard to get good placement on the wristlets because of their size. If it makes you feel any better, I bought DD a wristlet last year for a surprise when we were at WDW. DH distracted her while I grabbed one at the Grand Floridian. I didn't know anything about placement back then; didn't even know placement existed. So in hindsight, I didn't grab a very good one, but she seems happy with it. But you have to be happy with it and if you don't like it, is returning it an option?

When I got up today I was certain I would return it. But then the positives points here got to me. It does have a Mickey and it's not like it cost a lot. Should I keep it or return it??? I'm so torn.

I just had to post on here because I know you all will understand! I have the Mickey Mouse Tote Bag and had to send it in to get repaired! I have only had it since February and it's piping on the trim was showing so I sent it in under its warranty to get fixed. It is going to take 4 to 6 weeks to get it back!! :scared1:
I feel so naked carrying around my other purses..Lol. I keep saying Dooney Mickey is in the hospital and will be home soon! Not soon enough for me!

More of a reason to get a backup one in November when I go to Disney World!! ;)

Thats a long time! Makes you think it would have been easier to just ship you a new one in replacement. But that's what I was thinking about when I said the closure needs a magnet. If I am always pushing into it, it is so much more likely to wear down super quick.

And last complaint (don't hold me to that): the wrist strap is very thin/cheap. I think it should be thicker and polished on the inside (as opposed to rough).

I use mine as a coupon book. I used blank notecards to make dividers (4x6 cards cut to size) and then I put the coupons I plan to use on that trip and my shopping list in the outside pocket.

I'm sure you can find a use for it :-)

I would check ebay for them if you want to see what you are getting before your purchase if you can't get to the park to choose your own. The white sketch print is tough to find a good one because the print is so big. We looked for eight days and finally found one with a Mickey on it in almost the same place yours is.

What a totally awesome idea! Thanks! I have a Minnie bow wristlet I got for $13 (it was missing the charm). While I didn't think I would like this pattern at all, I will admit it does look way cute in person. But it doesn't really "go" with my stuff, and is really small. . . .BUT your idea would be perfect for me!!!

OT, but 435 days until your next WDW vacation? How do you do it? I thought we would be going back in February (have been very blessed to be able to go yearly for the past number of years), but now overly conscientious DD17 thinks she doesn't want to miss four days of school her senior year and we might not take the trip. I'm thinking if we don't, I might try to talk DH into going next October (my birthday month). I'm spoiled and just can't stand the idea of not having a vacation to plan for. I almost feel like I don't even want to be on the disboards because it's too depressing (that's a little overly dramatic), but then how would I know about any new Dooney patterns coming out?

I hear ya about feeling naked. I had bought a Vera Bradley this spring and then decided to take the plunge and buy a 40th anniversary bag. So I only ended up using the VB for about two weeks. I have a nice VB (brown for fall) that I bought a couple of years ago, but I just can't bring myself to switch out of the Disney Dooney.

Can't believe I've not found this thread before. I own exactly one D&B wristlet, the tonal Mickey. I love it. It's exactly as big as the disneystore.com specified, but I read many negative reviews from people on there saying it was smaller than expected. Really? The measurements were listed, and I found them to be accurate.
I am partial to Kate Spade handbags, but am growing quite fond of my D&B MM wristlet. :lovestruc I bought it to take to WDW this Dec, but I broke it out early, and now use it all the time.
I fear I'll have no control when I see all the designs available in the parks!:rotfl:

Oh yes, the ticker. We JUST got back from WDW and IoA. Next year I really want to get back to my normal Xmas time trip. I know the ticker looks ridiculous at this point but I needs me a ticker! So it's for November 2012.

What do you use your wristlet for? I am thinking of putting my wallet, phone in it and tossing it in my {awesome coincidence} Kate Spade. I can pull it out if I want to leave the big bag behind.

The big Kahuna (ie: UPS man) delivered my Aulani bag today. I love it. I don't know how to post pictures on here so I posted it on the FB page. Also, someone was wanting to see the Kristen on the shoulder. I posted a picture on the FB page of that as well. If someone can tell me how to post pictures on this I will try.:lovestruc

Oh, no no no. It doesn't look ridiculous. I was just looking for some inspiration to get me through! BTW, beautiful picture of you (I assume it's you) with Minnie.

I posted a couple of purple wristlets ($45 shipped) and a Mini Margot ($165 shipped) in black on the facebook page. All are new with tags (never used, removed from plastic just for pictures). Selling to pay for my 40th Anniversary messenger that followed me home last time I went to WDW :goodvibes

I'll have to pop over to the facebook page to see your photos.

So are you planning an outing today just so you can use your new Aulani bag, or are you planning to just look at it for awhile like I usually do when I get a new bag? ;)

Here are photo posting instructions if you want to post the photos here as well.

You post a picture just like you do clipart. The short version is:

Now for the longer version:

The picture has to be stored on the internet first. Upload your photo to a site like photobucket, or the DIS has free photo storage here:

The DIS Photo Gallery

Log in there using the same name and password you use on the DIS. After you log in, click on the upload photos button and follow the instructions.

After you've uploaded your photo, click on your photo so that it opens in a new window. Right click on the photo, click on properties, then highlight and copy the URL. It should look something like this:

http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/PhotoName.jpg

Be sure to type
after the URL. There can be no spaces, carriage returns or extra characters in there.

Hope that helps.

I tried what you said but the site says my photo is too big??? I don't know why it would be too big. I am probably doing something wrong. Anyway, I will look at my bag for a few days and then use it! It makes me smile just looking at it:flower3:
