Dooney & bourke Disney collaboration part 2

I bought the sketch wristlet when I was at WDW for my birthday(and was guilt-ridden over it for a while, I have never owned an expensive purse and am a total budget person for personal reasons). I told myself I wouldn't buy another but then saw the colored ones on these boards and was really liking the letter carrier in blue. I had forgotten my friend had owed me money for something from a few months ago and when he texted me to say my check was in the mail, I decided to go ahead and buy one I had seen on ebay with really good Dumbo, Mickey, and balloon placement.
I told my fiance that I might buy a bigger one in November when we go if I save up the money for it because I love the carrier for everyday/ running errand use, but I have days where a bigger bag would be nice. I thought he was going to give me his usual "do whatever you want babe" line but instead he said "You should totally get a bigger bag. It would be like Papa bear, Mama bear and Baby bear from Goldilocks!"
That has left a smile on my very stressed face for the rest of the evening.

He sounds like a keeper!

I agree with limited editions, kind of like the 1st sketch pattern. Not sure if it was actually limited, but being first and testing the market, I don't think they made as many.

The DL 55th bag imho, should be limited and should be exclusive to DL. kind of like D55 merchandise is, event only. Same thing if they have a WDW bag for the 40th birthday, which if they do, it should be exclusive to WDW.

Disney misses the boat in merchandising most of the time. A discussion that is often held on the DVC boards is the lack of DVC merchandise in general as well as DVC resort specific merchandise. Poor move in my honest opinion, as the DVC members are a captive audience and prove they are willing to spend $$$ on Disney. In general they have dummied down the merchandise and it is a lot of generic stuff.

The Dooney collaboration has gotten a whole new market of buyers. A friend of mine at work saw my Disney Dooney, sketch 1 Cindy and bought one from ebay. She is a purse fanatic and has about 20 designer bags, maybe more, as she just said she has at least 20.

It will be interesting to see what happens. Financial success may mean a run of purses that astound us all, but unfortunately that will also over saturate the market.

I am very happy I have a sketch1 cindy and 2 wristlets, in different patterns and a 55th wristlet (thanks to Hawky7), but from here on in will most likely buy unique patters, such as a QDW 40th etc.

Ask and you shall receive, weren't we just talking about these... I'm not a fan. Although I like that they are making the bucket and the satchel, I don't like the design at all. I will be saving my money on this one.

I was just coming her to post them too. I don't like them at all either, yuck! They could have done much better. I am glad though, I don't need another one that I want!

I SO want a bucket purse now that I have three of the bigger Disney Dooney's, but that print is something less than desired!

I'm not a big princess fan, so I actually like these better than I thought I was going to. The artwork is more fun, I was thinking they were going to be real pastel and girly looking. I wonder how these are gonna sell?

I will be saving my money also! Just saw the design on Disney shopping and not what I excpected at all! It is just a small change to a pattern Dooney and Bourke already had out. Kind of lazy on their pattern design by not coming up with something original. From a distance it would probably look like the other pattern they have out.

Nope! Not diggin' the princess design at all, I like the bag styles but the design does nothing for me. Which is a good thing. I've already gone overboard so I'm glad that these bags are not speaking to me.

OK, I like the styles of the new ones, but not the design. Whew, that saves me some money. I'll hold out to see what they come up with next. Still keeping finger's crossed for a backpack

Not the biggest fan here either for the new princess design, but then again I did not like the design in the traditional D&B pattern. DH will be thrilled!

Warning: long post coming up. I had some catching up to do.

The princess print doesn't appeal to me.
But maybe that's an excuse to pick up a tote in the Disneyland 55 print. I've been resisiting so far, but I really do love that collection. Hmm, I might feel another shopping trip coming on.

The second best seller is the blue (close second ) followed right behind by pink and purple. The green trails far behind.
Of course, this is what it is now.

When I saw pictures of the colored sketch bags, I thought blue looked kind of blah, and I figured it would be my least favorite. Wrong! I liked blue best once I saw the actual bags.

I was also REALLY excited because I got a 20% off coupon at the bottom of one of my food receipts to use at the World of Disney Store (this was at DL btw), and they let me use the discount on my D&B purse. I couldn't believe it. Saved me $42!

I heard they were doing that at WDW, I hadn't heard of anyone getting a receipt coupon at Disneyland. Great deal, congrats!

And to get back on topic, I am obsessing over the Disneyland 55 D&B purses! I am trying to decide whether I want to get one off eBay or add another night to my solo trip!

I vote extend the trip and check out Vault 28 so you have a whole wall of handbags to choose from.

Maybe it's just me, but I really don't want Disney just throwing all kinds of D&Bs out there and over saturating the market (like they have been know to do with other things!) I wish it would stay kind of small, so these purses feel more special.
I won't be the least bit surprised to know I'm alone here on this thread who feels this way. But I just don't want them to cheapen these bags by throwing millions of them out in the market, KWIM?

They haven't been out very long. Maybe they wanted to keep them a park exclusive, at least when they were first released? Just speculation on my part though.

Well, I'm glad to know I'm not alone in my fear of over saturating the market.
I don't like the new print at all, but I'm sick of the princess theme. Like others have said, at least it will save me money!
As far as the print itself goes, almost all of the other Disney Dooney's have been a knock off of one of their regular patterns. Such as the Wonder and the tonal. Not sure about the Sketch, was there a normal pattern for that?
Now what I would LOVE would the DB signature print with maybe WDW scattered in it too.
